Researchers have found a new coronavirus in China that can infect humans, called HKU-CoV-2.
Researchers say it can enter human cells in a similar way to the COVID-19 virus,
by binding to the same receptors in the lungs, nose, and respiratory tract.
Dr. Mark Siegel, a clinical professor at NYU Langdon Hall,
told Vogue News that the risk of this virus transmitting to humans is still very low.
He explained that the virus receptor has a weaker binding than that of COVID-19.
The new coronavirus was found after COVID-19 claimed more than 7 million lives around the world.
It should be noted that the person who found this new coronavirus is Zheng Li.
He works for the Wuhan Virology Institute, a laboratory that is suspected to be the source of the COVID-19 virus.
This year, the CIA and the FBI estimate that the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely to originate from a lab, not from nature.
Although the agent also said that the possibility of the virus originating from nature is still there.
Zheng Li, also often referred to as the Chinese female clown,
is known for studying some of the most dangerous pathogenic viruses in the world.
For more than a decade, his team has been studying how various coronaviruses from animals can potentially infect humans.
In 2015, Si published a research report with an epidemiologist from the University of North Carolina.
The report underlined the risks of their research that the coronavirus is capable of infecting human cells.
