First Drive in The New Tesla Model Y Juniper / 0-60 Test / It is IMPRESSIVE! #tesla

Hey guys, Paul here. Welcome back to the channel. So today I'm back at Tesla showroom in Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, Colorado. Of course, I'm here with a brand new Tesla Model Y or Tesla Model Y Juniper. I came here about a month ago to check out and then do a full tour of the Tesla Model Y. And today I have an awesome opportunity to actually test drive and I will share the whole experience with you in this video. And this is a launch edition Tesla Model Y. So it should have acceleration boost with the car. So the car makes a little bit more than 500 horsepower and should get to from 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds. And we'll test out how it drives because it's really important to buy a new car to test drive the car first and to test how the driving dynamic is because Tesla claim this is a lot smoother ride and better quality ride overall. Also really quiet compared to the previous Tesla Model Y. I'll do a quick tour of the car and then we'll go out for a test drive. Now let's go. This video is sponsored by Ember. So this new Tesla Model Y equipped with a 20 inch wheel, not the 19 inch. I wish they had the 19 inch wheel to test out. But hopefully it still offer that really comfortable ride and more comfortable than the current Model Y. And this is the front headlights. As you can see, the headlights are below here. Sorry, it's kind of dirty this one because it's been out in the snow. As you can see, the headlights are down here, not here. This is the full light bar, a daytime running light bar with a turn signal on the side. And awesome design from the bottom here. Has that bigger air curtain on the new Model Y compared to the previous one. And also another new feature is the front forward camera with a watcher too, which is pretty awesome. Let's go through the back. So the side profile pretty much remains the same. And here's the rear with a full width light bar, but it's reflected here. So it reflected down to the bottom. So as you can see, it's super dirty on this car, but it is one piece light bar compared to four pieces light bar on the previous Model Y. And also a rear diffuser, which is, you see it comes out a little bit. So Tesla claimed this should help with the impact from the rear in case of the accident. The rear light bar is a one piece. As you can see, it attached with the rear hatch. And also of course, in the back, you have both full and unfold power rear seats. You can see it folds down. So it's power unfold, which is really, really awesome features, right? So we're done with the quick tour because I only have less than 30 minutes to test drive this car. So I want to make sure I can share all that driving dynamic and our experience with you. Oh, one more thing to mention, because this is, let me turn off the light real quick, turn to auto. So this is a launch edition, as you can see here. So you get this one here, the one in the middle. Also, you get an upgraded 16 surround sound speakers, sound system with this car. But I don't think the regular version would have the 16 surround sound or sound system on the car. All right, now let's go for a test drive. Before we go out for a test drive, I got an Easter egg for you. This is something new that I didn't see on my Model Y. So if you go to temperature or climate control, as you can see here, this fan moving label, meaning it swing left to right, as you can see. So it circulate the air in the car much better than just stay still. So that's an Easter egg. So I'll just leave it the way it is and then we'll go to the mode dynamics. Since this is the acceleration boost version, so you have sport. So we'll just leave it that way and let's go for a test drive. All right, so I'm here in the garage. Let's get out and drive. All right, so Tesla claim this is a brand new suspension system in the car. It's kind of tough to test drive outside of the mall because it would take me at least 15 minutes just to get out of here because a lot of people are walking. Whole suspension system is practically brand new. The rear suspension structure of the car also brand new. So this would help a lot with the comfort of the ride. So I'm out here, I'm still in the parking lot. I can tell right away the ride comfort is so much different. But one thing that I can tell even more than the ride comfort is the noise. It's super quiet in here. Let me show you real quick. So I have a camera with a shotgun mic right here. So this will pick up the noise a lot better than my wireless microphone. So I'll show you the noise, which you won't hear much of it. The stock is back. I'm so glad the stock is back. But then it kind of feels a little bit different as you can see that. Can you hear the noise? I'll just be quiet for a few seconds. So much better than my current Tesla Model Y. I have a 2023 Tesla Model Y, which is not that old. It's only less than two years old. And compared to the ride and the sound deadening in this car, it's such a huge difference in the comfort. So this is, again, this is a 20 inch wheels on this new Model Y, not 19. So it's bigger, usually bigger wheels, smaller tires, equal less comfort on the ride. Because you have less cushion on the tires. But this one here, I'm going to go through, wow, I just went through potholes, like a small potholes. And the road around here, not the best. And you can feel the difference between the current model and this model. And steering, steering is not that much different. But the acceleration, it's awesome. I do not have acceleration boost on my Model Y, so I can't really tell how much different if my car has the acceleration boost. If I had a chance, like a straightaway, I would try 0 to 60. But right now we can't. And also this car has full self-driving because this is a launch edition. So it came with a full self-driving, just like the car that I ordered. By the way, I ordered this exact same model, but with the 19 inch and the white exterior. And it should also have a full self-driving. Okay, so let me see if I just going to point, I'm going to test out the full self-driving here. Hobby Lobby right here. I'm just going to go there. And then, here we go. So this is my first time full self-driving with a new Tesla Model Y. This is 2026, I believe they claim, 26 Model Y, Model Y or Model Y Juniper. So this is, we are in a full self-driving. This one is a little different because it has the front forward camera. So it should detect objects in the front, people, cars, much better than on current Model Y or my Model Y. I'm just going like really, really close by just to test out. So it's really smooth changing lane. This is probably the latest version of a full self-driving that they have. As you can see, it's demand to turn right on that lane, but the car shifted right before you have to turn right. So it's a shift to the left lane, which is really, really awesome. So now I can test and talk a lot better about the car. I don't have to focus so much because we are on FSD and the ride comfort. I don't know how to explain the huge difference between my car. I'm sure we would even get better ride comfort with a 19-inch wheels that I ordered on the new Model Y. So we are going, just going to turn right in the front. So we're going to end the FSD just a little bit. I'm going to have the FSD going back maybe a little more, but I would try to do a driving dynamic first. But so far, so good. The stop, the turn, just like we saw before, it merges different lane. It doesn't do it too quickly, so scare you. It does it really, really smooth. So I like the new full self-driving on the new Model Y so far. It's really, really awesome. I only had chance to do this video basically half an hour, so I can only do so much, but I'll try my best to share the whole experience here. And the right turn is really smooth. And I'm glad I drove to here because nobody's here. Pretty awesome. All right, so maybe we can try a self-park since we are here. I think it's going to stop soon. Hopefully it doesn't hit the lady on the right. Please do not hit the lady. All right, so that's it. A full self-driving, really, really awesome. It just did the stop sign or I guess it doesn't get there just quite yet. All right, so we are here. It's just going to turn right for me. I just want to let it do its thing. Probably park somewhere. It didn't let me choose where to park. Please do not hit the car. Oh, wow. It parked the car for me. Holy cow. I never had a chance to experience this before. I tested FSD many, many times. This is the first time that the car parked for me in the parking lot of the destination that I choose for the FSD to go. This is really, really, really awesome. Wow, that is so cool. Wow, I love this new FSD. This is probably the latest version. But anyways, we're done with FSD. This is really, really impressive compared to the previous version that I have tested. It just parked the car for me at the destination that I choose, which is Hoppy Lobby around here. Okay, so we're going to go continue our test drive. Again, no right stop. So you have to use the display and also the turn signal still here. But it doesn't have the turn signal. It's different because it has a shorter range. So you can't really go too far. It only does that small tap. But yeah, I'm happy that we have the turn signal back. But the turn signal doesn't do anything else. Just the turn signal. All right, let's go drive the car. So I'm just going to get out of here. Hopefully, I get back in time and not being too late. So they don't complain and won't let me drive the car again. So I'm going to go straight here and try and test out the acceleration of the car. Hopefully, I could because it's like really, really straight right in front of me. As you can see after the red light, I'm just going to do a slow. I wish I was a first car, but we are not the first car. I'm just going to let that car go. But wow, I'm impressed how quiet it is. Let me open the window for you. You see, I have the wireless mic, so I'm not sure how much it picked up. But it's a lot of noise outside. But after I close the window, it's a huge difference. All right, I can't test the 0 to 60, but I'm just going to test like 30 to 60. One, two, three. That is so cool. And it's not too violent, I would say, when you like full throttle it. But it comes seconds, split seconds as you for your acceleration, which is really, really awesome. All right, so I should get back soon. The ride comfort, it's huge, huge improvement from the previous model. And I love this. Someone just turn it off. I think, yeah, it's on. I'm just going to crank it up and then turn to red. You can see the ambient light. It's really, really pretty in the car. It's really nice. I'm just going to turn left here before we got mixed up. And then force us to get on the highway. Otherwise, I'll be so late to return this car. But wow. Okay, let me, oh man. I'll try to do a higher speed turn here, but I can't. It's red now. So since we wait for the light, let's see, test out the 16 speaker sound system. That is really good. That's all I can do. Otherwise, we're going to get into a license issue. But yeah, the sound system is awesome. All right, it's green light now. Let's continue with our test drive. I'm glad that I have a chance to test drive this car. Right now, it's on the invitation only for the test drive on the new Model Y. So I have to actually call them and try to get the invite on them. I missed the turn, of course. But that's okay. We're going to go around. All right, now we can do a little in a high speed turn here. Really, really good handling. I feel a little bit more flat when you go high speed turn. More confidence, I would say, than my current Model Y. Let the car in front of us go first, so we have chance. Let's do some pull here. Okay, I'm going to go to stop right here. Zero to 60. One, two, three, go. 60. Here we go. I will try to edit and time it in the video and see how fast it is. But it's really, really good. And it's uphill too. So probably won't be 4.1 for sure. Because that's the only time that I could do zero to 60 test. Too bad it's a little uphill. But it was really, really good. Wow. I think I feel more like driving my Model 3 with much better suspension with that acceleration. Because you feel sportier driving a Model 3 than a Model Y for sure because it's lower. And the handling too. So that handling, it's an improvement compared to my current Model Y. And also, I gotta say, the seat comfort and it hug your body. I think it hug your body much better than the old seat, the current Model Y seat. But yeah, this is a huge improvement in terms of driving dynamic of the car, a suspension of the car. And also, this one I have to really, really point out is the sound deadening. And how quiet it is in the car while you drive, while I drive, while I do this test drive. Which is incredible. That they can, you know, even improve much better. Because my car was like the last generation of the Model Y before this car. So they have been improved quite a bit from the first generation Model Y. And I'm surprised, like, they still have so much room to improve and change from, you know, my Model Y to this one. Brake, okay. Brake, it's really, really smooth. And I can feel that when it was on the FSD and the car was braking by itself, the brake itself doesn't actually press. So my current Model Y and Model 3, when I was on FSD, it actually pressed itself down to brake. But this one, it didn't do that. And that's pretty much it. I mean, I already, you know, conclude everything in this test drive. I wish I had a longer time with the car. I have so very, very little time with this car. But that's all I can share with you guys today. So that was it, guys. My first driving experience with the brand new Tesla Model Y or Model Y Juniper. I literally had 30 minutes to do all of this, to do the intro and the rest of the video. So I wish I had more time, at least an hour, to do the whole driving experience. But hopefully, you know, I get to do the full reveal of the driving experience when I receive my new Tesla Model Y very soon. I want to, of course, do the whole FSD thing with the new Model Y when I get my car. And also the driving dynamic of the car was a huge difference too in terms of, you know, a quick handling that I could test. And also the suspensions, the ride is actually smoother than my current Model Y. Of course, the interior noise is night and day. For sure, this is a huge improvement from what I can say, from what I have tested in the past, probably 17 minutes or 20 minutes while I drive, while I was driving the car. Because it took me a few minutes already just to get out of the mall parking lot. This is an awesome experience. I get to drive it a few days late.
