Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday said that the FBI was withholding a big amount of documents
about the notorious sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Late yesterday, I learned from a source
that the FBI field office in New York was in possession of thousands of pages of documents
related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein. Despite my repeated requests,
the FBI never disclosed the existence of these files, she wrote in a letter to FBI Director
Kash Patel. The withheld documents are multiple times larger than the 200 pages of documents
Bondi had obtained previously. Pondi demanded the FBI to investigate the withholding.
I am also directing you to conduct an immediate investigation into why my order to the FBI was
not followed. You will deliver to me a comprehensive report of your findings and
proposed personnel action within 14 days, she added. The Justice Department will receive the
documents on Friday morning and redact them to protect the privacy of the victims.
Bondi said on Wednesday that she will likely release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein
on Thursday, appearing to refer to the 200 pages she already obtained, but with the ones held by
the FBI New York field office. Conservative political commentators were spotted at the
White House Thursday holding binders that read the Epstein files. It was not immediately clear
what was in the binders.
