Alright guys, so yeah, that's what I'm talking about today. I'm talking about you,
or you may have done this in the past. So what am I exactly talking about? You know that moment
where you say I can't do this or I'll never be that good? That's what I'm talking about.
Please stop. You will get amazing. You will be there. You are talented. Just remember this.
Everyone started off with nothing. Everyone, except if you're rich and the family gave money,
**** them. Who cares? Alright, but you. Everyone starts off with nothing, okay?
Nothing. I didn't start off skating amazingly and learning how to front blunt,
doing a tray flip on flat. Dude, these are things that I wanted. These are things I learned. These
are things I went out and I literally stayed out there at the skate park or a box just trying it,
going for it. So my advice to you is stop. Stop telling yourself you cannot do it. Stop saying,
oh, I'll never be that good. Stop. Stop stopping yourself before you even think about trying to
get better if that makes sense. If that didn't make sense, this is a simpler way to put it.
Do not be negative if you haven't even saw the results within a week. Give yourself a week.
See how much better you get. If you can't kickflip today and you could kickflip in a week,
that's progress. That's beautiful because a week ago you couldn't kickflip, but all of a sudden,
now you can kickflip. You guys need to stop. Stop being negative. Pursue what you want. I don't care
if it's not skateboarding or if it is. This is my advice to you. Start telling yourself you can do
it. Start saying that, oh, I think I can do it. So let me take the steps necessary to do it.
This is a good example. I wrote a paper and I procrastinated till that day. Within five hours,
I had to write a three to four page paper. I literally didn't want to do it. I didn't care
about it, but guess what? I sat down. Oh man, I don't even know how to tell you guys. Like,
if I could make you feel what I was feeling, I was like,
getting a pencil to move was the hardest thing ever. But just writing started helping because
I did it. Like if you could just get yourself to start moving, it happens. Magic happens when you
start moving. That's what happens. And that's what I'm trying to tell you. Go outside. Stand
up. If you're already outside and you go to the skate park, stand up and move. If you're outside
at home, stand up and move. Go for it. If you don't know how to do a hard flip and that's a
trick you want to do, find out what it is that you have to do to get it to form. I remember
learning dolphin flip, or if you guys don't know a forward flip, I didn't know how to go about it,
but I started going for it and now it flips perfectly. And that's a trick that is amazing
to me. So that's my advice for you. Just stop being negative. Stop stopping yourself before
you even have a chance. Like give yourself a chance. If you want to be amazing in skateboarding,
go for it. Do it. Remember, everything takes time. Don't think that you suck because you can't kick
flip today and next week you can't kick flip still. Maybe you're doing one thing and that
is telling yourself that you can't. Stop that. You got to be more positive. Be more positive
and go for it. And that's what I want to leave off on. Just start moving. Start getting yourself
to go that way where you want to be because it takes time. And the more time you spend on
something, you'll only get better. You'll only get better than what you were a minute ago.
