Hi, I'm Alexandra. I believe life can be both glorious, tricky and even painful.. which we all know. Beauty is a practice I have enjoyed from early childhood as a way to build my confidence in myself. Not just on "special" occasions, but in my every day life and decision making. On my YouTube channel I show you practical steps and psychology to understand and apply methods in all areas of beauty; inclding fashion, makeup, hairstyling and femininity, to help us evolve and transform into our personal visions. I believe when a girl feels good about herself, she can make better choices for herself in ALL areas of life. Welcome to my channel, I'm glad you found me.

hi everyone today we're going to be
talking about press-on nails and how to
apply them perfectly whether you're a
beginner or you know what you're doing
this video is for you first we're going
to take some paper towel and slice it up
you want to cut out One wipe for each of
your fingers
if you just bought a press-on kit you
probably see it came with a bunch of
different things like a little alcohol
wipe and some nail file or something
like that and the nails of course and
glue start going through the nails
looking for what size fits what finger
and then lay them out in order from
pinky to ring finger middle and index
and then thumb that way you don't work
from like this chaotic pile of nails you
actually have them all laid out for each
finger usually you find a perfect fit
but if you have to choose between a
little smaller or a little bigger I
would say go a little smaller but don't
rush into this and get started before
you've done these two critical steps if
you want this manicure to last follow
this logic here's the thing when you go
for a manicure at the salon they always
dehydrate the nail to remove oils so
that it theoretically lasts longer but
if you use the same wipe on each finger
this method of wiping each finger
carries the oil from the first finger
over to the second over to the third
fourth and by the time you're at the
fifth finger is a high chance that
there's a ton of oil on it you won't
know right away you'll just find your
nail pops off within a couple days and
so then you'll think that press on nails
aren't great but really it's the fact
that there's a lot of oil sitting on the
nail so I use one wipe per finger and
get every single nail to a hundred
percent dehydration level this makes the
manicure last for like three maybe even
four weeks now the second step is to use
a buffing block these are much gentler
than files they almost seem as though
they're not doing much to the nail but
it's key that you do this another small
detail that makes a really big
difference
you don't see much of a difference from
when you look down at your hands but
under a microscope there's a huge
difference between a buffed nail and a
smooth nail as you can see on the right
thumbs up the video if you're enjoying
so far the way that you apply glue it's
almost important that you are as
artistic as you would be if you were
painting your nails be so careful
because it actually makes or breaks the
manicure pre-squeeze like a little drop
and then touch it to the upper third of
your nail keep the tube of glue in
contact with your nails spreading out
the glue but leaving a halo around the
nail so that when you press down the
glue can spread without going over onto
the skin you're better off to let it dry
for a few seconds before you press down
because usually these glues take a
little while to set so it's good to push
it down when it's final rather than push
it down and wish it was drying faster
these nails are cheap they're easy to do
but if you treat them as very easy to do
you might miss out on getting the level
of detail that looks like a hundred
dollar manicure so be detailed and slow
about how you do these and you will love
your result results
if it doesn't stick the first time then
you probably need a little more glue
that's a better situation than having
too much glue and it spreads all over
the skin wipe it off if that happens now
when I do the glue my way now I have a
little bit of like a press thing that I
do so I like press it a little bit
before I press it for 20 seconds do you
know what I mean and the reason I do
that is because I want to see if the
glue is going to spread onto the skin so
I kind of just press it down a little
bit I check I press I check and then I
press it and hold it there to secure it
for good now if you need to change the
arrangement of the nail that's important
too don't put these on to the side make
sure you put them very very straight the
middle of the nail should line up with
the middle of yours and then that way it
will be completely flowing as though
somebody did these at a salon for you do
not get your nails wet for one hour
after you finish this is so important
for longevity because the glue is still
gonna set for some time even when the
nails feel completely secure so this is
a good time to look at the shape and say
I may want to make some changes or just
like file it down a little bit because
you shouldn't get your hands wet for one
whole hour
give yourself this grace period and then
once you did wait an hour you can
hydrate the skin because it really needs
it and of course having beautiful nails
looks best when you take care of your
hands I'm going to use a water-based
serum everybody uses oil but oil adds
elasticity to the skin but it adds zero
hydration and we really need hydration
right now then you can add oil
now this is going to last and I want to
know in the comments below what's your
favorite type of manicure I think this
has to be it for me or maybe red nails
actually I don't know I always love red
thank you for watching I love you
