He's having a smashing time.
Right, see who?
Chilston, Chilston, let's check the f***ing cameras on, shall I?
Right guys, in this episode we're doing a strawberry daiquiri,
we're doing a frozen version.
This is not something I drink personally,
but I make a really f***ing good one to be honest.
I've been asked so many times to do one,
so here it is.
This is my best version.
I'm going to show you how we whip this up.
Let's get stuck in.
Hello, hi and welcome back to The Humble Bartender.
I'm Will Crawshaw.
Thanks for tuning in.

Today's episode,
now I've been putting off doing this actually for a long time.
We're doing a strawberry daiquiri,
we're doing a blended strawberry daiquiri.
So I love a classic daiquiri.
You have seen my recipe in the past for a classic daiquiri,
which is beautiful, I think.
I've been asked by a few friends and viewers
to show my version of the best strawberry daiquiri I've ever made.
So let's do it.
Let's show you.
Unfortunately, I've had a bit of an accident.
I wasn't going to serve it in this.
This is a nice glass,
but I did have a lovely...
Oh, the bed.
Yeah, so this was a lovely brandy glass.
I like to serve them in shorter brandy glasses,
but that's **** unfortunately.
We're going to serve it in this.
It should be the right volume.
It might be a little bit too small,
so bear with me on this one.
You can follow my recipe for a strawberry puree
if you click this little thing up here in the corner.
You'll be able to have a look and see how I make my perfect version.
A sweet strawberry puree is perfect for using this drink.
So I'm not going to bore you with the history of a daiquiri.
That's in the previous video.
You know, I'll go into a little bit of detail
of where the original drink came from.
The frozen drink's a different story, actually.
It stems back, again, almost 100 odd years.
A chap who was creating ice cream, basically.
He started off creating ice cream
and then kind of started working fruit flavours into it
and eventually started chucking rum in it as well.
As far as I'm aware, don't quote me on this.
I've not actually done a lot of research
into where the strawberry daiquiri came from.
But if you do want to know, I'm going to have a little look.
I'm going to post some links in the descriptions.
If you do fancy a little look at where it actually came from, hit them up.
So strawberry daiquiri, everybody.
Rum, lime juice, strawberry puree, crushed ice.
Blend it up, yeah?
No, let's make a little adjustment.
So for me, strawberry goes really well with vanilla.
Rum goes really well with vanilla.
We have a Persian lime and smooth vanilla rum,
which I actually used for my original daiquiri.
So this is going into the mix.
We're going in with 40 mils of the rum.
I would put a double in, but bear with me.
40 mils of the old J, silver.
This is probably one of my favourite rums.
This is so versatile for a daiquiri.
It just brings a whole load of flavour to it.
You know, the lime and vanilla work beautifully in a daiquiri.
So welcome, my old friend, Liquor 43.
I know you've seen me use this in a previous video now,
so I'm using it again.
Let's have a go and drop 20 mils in the mix.
And then we're going to go pretty strong with the lime juice.
This is going to be quite sweet.
We're going to use 30 mils.
Just into the blender.
Next, we're going to use a strawberry puree.
I'm going to use 50 mils.
It's just a good texture.
I'm thinking maybe 60 mils.
Let's try another 10.
We want that strawberry flavour to come through.
Do you know what I mean?
It is a strawberry daiquiri after all.
So strawberry puree's in.
We're going to use a pinch of citric acid powder
just to make sure that's well balanced.
Not only that, we want extra bite but without the liquid.
We want extra sweetness too without the liquid.
So I'm going to add a spoon of caster sugar.
Spoon and a half.
I think it'll be good.
I have to taste in liquid anyway.
I haven't made this in a long time
and this is a slightly revised recipe.
I've improved this over the years.
So crushed ice is a must.
I'm going to use three quarters of a small tin
and we're going to fire that on straight away.
Get it on quickly.
Right, cool.
She's looking good.
Let's have a little taste.
Outstanding.
Not too sweet.
It's a good texture.
Too much volume for this glass though.
Look, I'm left with quite a bit
but we're going to pile this up.
Get that in there.
Oh yeah, that's delicious guys.
So this is what you will have seen in bars.
This is what as bartenders, you know, we're making quite often.
It's not something I pick but somebody gives me one.
I'm going to drink it.
So this is my best version of a frozen strawberry daiquiri
with a hint of vanilla and a bit of a wacky straw.
I'm going to just garnish it with a sprig of mint
just to kind of elevate some of the kind of herbal characteristics from the Liquor 43.
You can pop a strawberry on this as well if you want
but I like to have a little bit of the mint on the nose.
Oh yeah.
You've got the lime and vanilla running through it.
Big strawberry note.
Not too sweet.
Not too sweet at all.
Nice sharpness.
Where I'm at the minute, we don't actually have blenders
so, you know, we don't make blended drinks.
Somebody wants a strawberry daiquiri, I'll go straight up.
But my previous bars, a lot of them.
Lot of them, mate.
It's a bit of a modern classic, guys.
I hope you enjoy it.
I hope you have a go.
Your best bet, I think, uses rum.
It adds the lime, the vanilla.
Use a little bit of Liquor 43.
The vanilla works.
Strawberry and vanilla are a match made in heaven
especially with a little bit of mint over the top.
It's a combo.
I love it.
Yeah, good drink.
There you go, strawberry daiquiri, guys.
This is my best version.
It's better when it's melted.
I hope you enjoy it.
It's a straightforward drink.
As I say, four ingredients.
You don't have to use the citric acid.
Just add a little bit more lime juice if you want.
So you can have 35.
You can have 40.
Just taste it.
See how it goes.
Depends how sweet you make your puree.
But follow these kind of guidelines and you're laughing.
It's easy peasy.
I can highly recommend you throw a bit of 43 in it.
You use this rum, you know, or something with a bit of a vanilla heavy back note on it.
It works really well with strawberry.
Let me know what you think.
If you have a better version, let me know.
I'd love to hear about it.
And in the meantime, I'll see you all very soon.
Thanks for watching.
And get subscribed if you enjoy it.
Give it a click.
You know you want to.
Cheers!
It's a strawberry daiquiri.
I wish it was hotter outside.
It's been warm today though.
Ah, brain freeze!
Ah!
