How's it going everybody? I'm Nikki Delventhal and this is my dog Camper Delventhal.
We live in a 2006 Toyota Prius and we're here to take you along on the wild ride.
So fasten up your seat belts and let's have some fun.
Don't forget if you like what you see, like, subscribe, comment,
share with your friends and turn on notifications. Camper and I would be so thankful.
On last week's episode, Camper and I continue exploring one of the most underrated states
in the United States, Michigan. If you haven't added this gem to your list, do it now.
Here we did everything from dune bashing to hunting for the recently discovered glow-in-the-dark
uberlites, cliff jumping into the icy cold waters of Lake Superior, went on some great hikes,
tried the local foods and checked out the local farms, and so much more. We leave off our
adventures saying goodbye to the Upper Peninsula and continuing our journey west, but then last
minute we decided to make a major detour. Okay, after almost three years of traveling and living
full-time in this Prius, you guys know I love a good truck stop. What a beautiful morning.
Romantic evenings watching all the people at the truck stop. Good morning Idaho truck stop goers.
Most of the time the showers are to die for, especially after a long day of travel or
sometimes a few days without one. And sometimes you even find a jacuzzi in there. That was a lot of fun.
I'm Santa Claus. Hello child, what would you like for Christmas? Plus there's nothing like a safe
and secure place along your route that you can sleep with 24-hour security. I love a good truck
stop. So naturally the world's largest truck stop has been on our bucket list for quite some time
now, but it hasn't been on our route until today. We are going to spend the next 24 hours, let's be
real, probably more, at this truck stop. World's largest truck stop, here we come.
Oh goodness, I think all of that is it. This is wild. All right, first thing we're gonna do is fill up.
Yeah. All right, so I just made friends over here while we were getting gas and asked what was going
on. And what we learned is that apparently it's not always like this, but three days out of each
year they have a huge truckers party, an annual jamboree. And we are here right smack in the middle
of that party. So this is going to be a wild time, an absolutely epic tour of the world's
largest truck stop during their biggest party of the year. All right, so we are just circling
around right now trying to find parking. Yes! Oh my goodness, we got a spot. All right, let's check
this place out. We are gonna start with the exterior. They have over 900 spots for truckers to sleep in.
This is a lot. All right, here we go. World's largest trucker party, here we come.
All right, we're gonna give you guys a tour of this place tomorrow, but we're gonna pop
in there real quick to take a shower before the fireworks. Third floor, third floor.
Hi there. Hi. I'm gonna purchase a shower for myself. $15.50. $15.50, all right.
It's our favorite time of day, shower time. Our shower is ready, no one's in line.
We love when that happens. Sorry. All right, we have shower one, so now we're gonna go find those.
Shower one, where you at? All right, here we are. A little tour of the shower bathroom.
Oh, camper, do you want to show them? They really keep these ones clean. This is great.
Beautiful. This is 100% the top three truck stops I have ever been in. It's immaculate.
That was so good. So you guys know, time in truck stop showers is unlimited, but please do be
mindful of other truck drivers. They have routes that they're on and places they need to be.
If there's a line, I usually do five to 10 minutes, but if it's like I had, you can take
your sweet time because nobody was there. All right, we should be making it perfect
time for these fireworks. I'm so excited.
Really fun fact, this truck stop gets about 5,000 people per day walking through those doors,
but on these three days, I imagine it is way more than that. It's packed.
That was so much fun, and we haven't even toured the inside of the truck stop yet,
but I did make the rookie mistake of not buying any food at the restaurants or at the party.
So, camper, can I get a drumroll? No. Bag salad night. You guys know what's up.
This one's a little different than usual because it's pre-made.
Ooh, that is nice. This is definitely not the easiest bag salad I've ever had.
We're going to walk the doors, and I'm coming back. Dirty clothes.
Ooh, we can wash all this tomorrow. Computer bag's in the way. Okay.
Right on. We did it. Tonight, we are going to be sleeping at a steady 69 degrees. Love it.
Nothing like a big car alarm to wake you up.
Doesn't sound like a truck stop at all. People so close to my car. You ready to go outside?
First things first, coffee and change. I went inside, and there was like a 20-person line
for the bathroom, so we're going to do this the old-fashioned way. We're going to change in the
car, and I don't know. This might be too much information, but I really don't care.
All right. We're going to change. All right.
This could be cute. Could be terrible. I don't care. It's coffee time,
and we're going to take a little tour. All right, camper, go get your pep cup.
If you don't feel like getting coffee at the coffee and bagel shop, they also have
quick coffee and food. Oh, my God. They have wolf t-shirts. All right. We are getting a wolf
shirt, camper. Is that the one? I love wolf t-shirts. Oh, heck yeah. This gift shop is
awesome. They have everything from kids' stuff to dope wolf shirts, toiletries, candles, dog stuff.
Love it. I have just been walking around the main area so far. Nothing else. So besides the food
court and all the quick food, there is an arcade here. Let's see if we can catch up.
At the world's largest truck stop, obviously, we are going to play the world's largest
Pac-Man. That was awesome. All right. Moving on. This is the world of never-ending gift shopping.
So much more. You could get anything you need at the world's largest truck stop,
from boots to parts for your car and your truck to blankets to machetes and knives.
You name it, this place has it. As you continue through the shopping area, it actually brings
you to a trucker's showroom. All right. Let's show you the inside of the truck here.
We got Camptastic in the back. There are so many little dials here. Wow.
This is a lot more room than the Prius, huh? All right. Moving on.
Now we're going to take you upstairs. This is what we call a truck driver's oasis.
Can I have that? They even have a place to pray. You can even get your teeth cleaned here.
We missed him. All right. Before we move on to the museum, I heard this restaurant was to die for.
I am getting a veggie omelet, but their buffet, I heard, is to die for. So if you come here,
come hungry. So cheesy. But wait, there's more. I've been wanting to say that for a while.
All right. Now that we've explored this entire building and we ate,
it is time to go check out the museum. Here's one that I love. So everyone thinks that electric
vehicles are a brand new thing, right? Wrong. This truck was fully electric, bringing milk
to hospitals and restaurants all over Chicago. This was used by the Walker brand from 1904 to 1942.
And a single charge took this truck 50 miles. That's longer than any other truck right now.
That was so cool. We got one more stop before we go back to the party.
And last but not least, we have the fuel center. More fuel center. Got scales. Dog wash.
Oh my goodness. This is just like those self-serve car washes. You go up the mat. Go ahead. Up.
Yeah, right.
And not only can you wash your truck, but you can get an alignment, oil change, and any needs
that you have. All right, camper, you ready to go have some fun? Back to the jamboree.
