so if you've been on the Nissan lot and
you're looking for a sedan to buy which
one do I purchase the Nissan Sentra or
to my right the Nissan Versa while here
at cars unlocked we are going to compare
the two to help you determine which one
will best suit your
[Applause]
[Music]
needs so here we have the SV package of
both trim levels this is the Versa and
the white one is the Nissan Sentra so
those are the middle packages and you
know what we do here on cars unlock the
first thing we're going to do is talk
about the price cuz that is a big
deciding factor and I'm Dutch so that
makes it most important our Nissan Versa
SV it's going to come with an MSRP here
in Canada of
25155 or a USD of
2,490 while our Centra SV is going to
have an MSRP of
2865 and for all my American friends out
there that's about 20
to10 so that's about a $3,000 difference
between the two and here's what you get
let's look at the front ends right away
now there's positives and negatives of
each car but when you check out the
front end you can see the styling is
relatively the same both of them are
going to come with h hallogen headlights
and this kind of VO motion Grill now
there's a little more Chrome on the
center and you can kind of see the
two-tone styling on the Sentra while
here it's kind of a slided out Grill the
Nissan Emblem is going to be the same
they both have our Ford emergency
sensors behind the Nissan hem which is
great if you're a fog light person you
can see our Versa has fog lights while
our cetra doesn't have fog lights so if
fog lights are a must have then this is
the one when looking at the styling and
the side Pro profiles you can see our
Sentra is just a little bit longer than
the Versa and that's another big thing
that this is going to come down to you
just get a little bit more space with
the Sentra in terms of the back seat and
the size it has a little wider wheel
base the rims you guys can comment which
Rim do you like best these are the
center rims it's a 16in ballum alloy rim
and it has front and rear disc brakes
now you can see the Versa is just a
little shorter mostly in the back end
and you can see our front end and nose
is just a little shorter but it does
have a little different Rim it has this
split spoke rim it's a 16in rim and it
does come with rear drum brakes so if
you're not a fan of drum brakes the
center is going to come with your disc
brakes all around engine wise both cars
are going to be relatively the same and
they both come with Nissan CV
transmission and it does come with their
16 valve 4 cylinder now the difference
here the Nissan versus is going to give
you a 1.6 L 4 cylinder engine which
gives you 122 horsepower and 114 PB feet
of torque while our Nissan Sentra it's
going to be a 2 L 4 cylinder which gives
you 149 horsepower
and 146 lb feet of torque now on paper
that smaller engine in the Versa does
translate to a little better fuel
economy 6.7 L for every 100 kilomet I
believe that's about 36 mpg for all my
American friends or on paper the Nissan
Sentra is going to be 6.6 L per every
100 kilm 35 MPG so on paper the versus
better on gas will you notice it when
you're driving it's very min School you
guys will have to tell me what you think
now before we go on to the insides if
you guys let us know in the comments
which one do you prefer do you prefer
the Versa or do you think the better
deal is on the Nissan Centra here in
2025 let's get a good debate going in
the comments and if you guys are new and
we've helped you with your buying
decision give this video a thumbs up and
subscribe to our Channel but let's look
at the keys because this is a big kind
of thing here especially on a day like
today it's important to note the Nissan
Sentra is going to come with the remote
starter so you can start it up get the
car warm and I tell you we are excited
to get into the car and get warm the
Nissan Versa does not have the remote
starter so if the remote starter was
important to you it would be something
you would have to add on to this car
it's also important to knowe this
specific Nissan Center that we have
comes with a sunroof that is an added
package here so if you like a sunroof
the cental would be to go the Versa SV
does not come with a sunroof I've got to
mention also the handle so in addition
to the remote starter this Senter has
the keyless entry so you just need to
push the button there and you can access
the car you just need to have the key in
the proximity of the vehicle while this
one there is no button on the door so
you still need to use the remote to lock
and unlock the door so you have to take
it out of your pocket a little minor
inconvenience maybe but not a big deal
just want to point out the difference
now when we look at the interior this
one is the inside of the Sentra this is
where the two cars really are different
this one is just a two-tone kind of
white and gray interior here they really
keep it simple you can see the shifter
and center console is a little more
raised up and we do have a larger kind
of Center stack here but overall you
have these leather accents on the dash a
little more sporty here with the air
vents uh let's look at the inside of the
versa so here we are inside the Versa
and you can see it's a little more
funkier a little more psychedelic than
the Sentra with this blue kind of
sportier interior here here in Canada it
only comes in this blue so if you don't
like the blue you should go with the
Sentra here but you guys can see it's
blue all throughout the dash while the
other one is white and this Center stack
is a little lower now we're behind the
wheel of the Nissan Sentra and engine
alone there's a few things that this car
has other than having just a larger
engine in terms of feature-wise this one
does come with the intelligent cruise
control so it will help you adjust your
speed when you're using your cruise
control it also has the two different
Drive modes so there's an economy mode
and a sport mode and then obviously a
normal drive mode that's what the other
one doesn't have and it has the
automatic start stops so maybe that's
why the gap on paper between the fuel
economy is relatively close between the
two cars dual temperature control as
well on this one so if you and your wife
like to be different temperatures or you
and your partner like to be different
temperatures she can adjust her
temperature the person in the passenger
seat can adjust theirs and you guys can
all be easy peasy lemon squeezy back to
test so this is the Nissan verse uh
and it's a little smaller back here um
two people my size fine three people a
little tight I'm 59 so you can get a
little uh comparison here there's no
really cup holders there's just one cup
holder in each door and there's a USBC
back here to charge your phone now this
is what you pay for with that extra
dough it is a bit more spacious back
here I must say after sit it both uh
similar thing three people back here it
might be a little tight but yeah have
cup holder in each door uh there is just
a little bit more leg room and shoulder
room in the Sentra now on paper they are
saying that the Nissan Sentra trunk is
smaller this one is rated at 14 cubic
feet let's compare to the Versa now the
Versa on paper they say is 15 cubic feet
so it doesn't look
ideal like there's a whole extra cubic
feet of cargo capacity in the Versa
there relatively the same size truck in
terms of infotainment they're going to
be relatively the same both of them will
come with Android auto Apple carplay
which is wired that you have to connect
they kind of have a similar audio system
six standard audio speakers in the
Sentra six in the Nissan Versa the
difference that you get here in the
Sentra you get the Serius XM so if you
are a satellite radio person you do have
that serus XM and this screen it's more
more of a raised up screen here it's
kind of like a tablet like screen so
your viewing angle you're not looking
straight down like you are in the Versa
but overall driving wise I do like
driving the Sentra better if I was to go
on a 10-hour road trip and someone said
do you want to take a versa or do you
want to take a Sentra I would be taking
the Centra all day it just is a little
smoother ride I do feel the seats are a
little comfier I would be taking
Essentia that would be my choice in
terms of how they handle and drive but
the verse has got a little bit of quirks
that might uh affect your buying
decision and there's some features that
the Versa has that this Sentra does what
you talk about it's really weird how
this Nissan Versa has a few things that
the Sentra doesn't even though you pay
more in the Sentra first thing it does
have the qi charger the G charger for
charging your phone wirelessly you can
just pop your phone right here and
charge your phone it also has a little
better I do like the advanced Drive
Assist display in this Versa versus the
one that's in the center I do think this
one's a little more Vivid with a digital
tachometer and overall a little better
so those are some of the positives of
this but it's just you're getting what
you pay for compared to the two models
do you want to spend extra money for the
Sentra I certainly like how this one
drives I'm not knocking how the Versa
drives for the price point it drives
very very well but overall my choice
would be have to be the Sentra in terms
of Drive wise I do like to drive better
this Versa it just feels a little more
spacious in the cabin area than the
center reason why the center console is
a little lower so it is lower and there
isn't a big kind of Center armrest so
you do lack that Center armrest but I
feel further away from you guys because
I'm not as cramped up here there's a lot
more space above your knees if that
makes sense so ladies and gentlemen that
is your comparison between the two next
Works be the Sentra but as I said put
your choice down below and if you guys
are new subscribe and we'll see you in
the next Showdown have a great day
