Emma Navarro vs. Emiliana Arango | Merida 2025 Final | WTA Match Highlights

A little slowly in that one and got past Eminacian yesterday. Arango just her 4th.1 in the match. Sneaky drop on the backhand side from Navarro. Full command of this Open Final. Drops in. Need a few more of those throughout this match if she hopes to lift the trophy. We've seen Arango do that a couple of times. I don't think she's going to like the result. That ball looked like it caught the line. So we'll see here if that was the right call or not. It was not the right call. It did drop in. So because Arango did not play that point, stopped at midpoint, it's Navarro who gets the point and she wins the opening set. So Emma Navarro loses just 11 points throughout that entire set. And a commanding 6-love scoreline. Full return and then not letting go. She's converting time after time. Doing much more on that point. Much more aggressive. What a point from Navarro there. That's some great tennis from the world number 10. A little frustration there from Arango on that forehand and that backhand. Crowd's a little bit stunned I think. There's nothing Arango can do about that. And it's a masterclass performance from Emma Navarro. Does not lose a single game in this final. It's her second career title. The biggest one of her career. And perhaps the time on court catching up to Emiliana Arango, the qualifier. But full credit to Emma Navarro. She played some solid tennis today. And she wins her second career title. 6-love, 6-love. Just 55 minutes. She's the champion of the Merida Open in 2025. She's obviously delighted. It was just such an excellent display of tennis. As you say, a masterclass. She's come to this tournament as the top seed for the very first time in her career. As she turned up as the top seed. And then to just make her way through as she has done. And take down every challenge presented to her. I just think it's been so impressive. And it really shows that she is a well established player at the top of the game.
