guest
[Music]
welcome to the
house to meet you pleasure and
I hope you will appreciate the house
thank you we will discover it with
pleasure so it is a house it is a
fairly old house eh it dates from
1870 and I bought it in 2019 it
was not at all in this state well
I imagine there was a lot of work
to be done uh all that was done in
a change of life I lived in
Marseille a big city and I wanted to
change my life and I looked for a
house and I found this one or rather
this one found me ah yes and there you go
big crush a year of work I
called on craftsmen it
went very well they are craftsmen from the village
I really like the dark wood
like that it's walnut
the locks had to be redone if you like when
I visited the house it was
really in its original state it wasn't
as welcoming but there was
still a good feeling and I
really wanted to keep as much as possible of what it
was and what I liked when I came back
yes that's why in
the rooms there are a lot of things a
little bit a little bit wobbly a little bit
broken but that's what I like there
are five rooms in the house and here I
'm going to show you the smallest of
them which is a little bit special
you'll see
it was probably the maid's room
exactly it was the little
maid's room which is now called
Elisabeth's little room it's one of my favorites
because it's very small it's
very comfortable it's pretty with the
arched window like that yeah the
wallpaper from Maison
Sauvage which is a brand that I love
you'll see there are a lot of
reclaimed things in the house there for
example
here it's
a flowerpot that I simply
drilled salvaged from the headboard of
one of the beds that was in the house
the owners left me a lot of
furniture a lot of things the same I will
show you in the others
in the other rooms so this little
bedroom was the only one that had its
own bathroom yes when you
bought when I
bought so there it was of course necessary to
renovate it and put everything back in which was
not easy so the tiling uh
it is recent but imitation old and what
is uh funny is that when the
tiler laid it took the tiles out
of the boxes all broken he said "But
what is this tiling it
is all broken."
and the fabulous period ones yeah I love it
so in fact you will notice there are two
different periods because the house has
evolved over the years and so these
are really the period tomatoes and
then they redid the corridor with
slightly more recent floor tiles but
which still date from the 50s

lavender everywhere because we are
in the land of lavender in
the land of lavender we are really
in the land of true lavender since
in Saut we are on the plateau of
Saut plateau of Albion and this is where
we grow true lavender which
needs to be grown at altitude and
here we are at 700 m and there you really have
the real lavender this is the one
used by perfumers so there we
arrive in a room which is much
bigger which is called Camille and
Gabin I love old first names so
all the rooms don't have
numbers but old first names yeah and
as there it is a double room
with two rooms Camille and Gabin
yeah
and so these are first names chosen at
random or So there are first names that
I chose at random and there are some that
correspond to my more personal life
ellisabeth that we saw earlier
she is my best friend and I will tell you
for other rooms so here we
are on a so-called family room
I really like the still life paintings
and especially flowers there is not
much hanging on the wall that is what
I want all the customers like that
can make
the space their own this piece of furniture was hidden under a
big mess in the
attic it was all white so I
completely scraped it thinking that
behind I was going to maybe repaint it
and finally I kept it like that
because it has a simply
magnificent color it is simple and there is not
much but it is still
very warm welcoming that is it and
there the same you are on a
fireplace plate you should know that in all the
rooms there was a fireplace I was able to
keep some like this one and the
plate but in the other room that we're
going to see next door I really had to
remove it so here we are no longer in the
master bedroom the same all in
simplicity
the color there which is on the wall is
a bit of a ditlin color that I use
almost everywhere in the house
basic color and then after that with
tones more in the in the
glass there again a lot of recycling
this chair that I
bought in a
village store which is which is really very very
nice
all the linen of the house is there
everything is done here at home
eh the washing the
ironing I'll show you the
bathroom h so in fact formerly finally
when I bought the house it was the
bathroom of the
house so there you have the large
bathroom the legs of the
sinks it was a table that was in
the house but the top was very
damaged
I wanted to keep the legs that I
found very nice
it's an old board that you had
found an old board absolutely
eh quite simply we added the
coat racks and then above you
have the small light fixture that was in
the kitchen when I
bought it, here I recovered and
reassembled
this mirror, it was in the house like
other mirrors that we will see a
little later, uh, I find it
magnificent, I didn't really know how to put it
and then there it is, it found its place
here and there I think it is, it's
not bad where it is so
here I'll take you to Léo's room
which is my son's first name
ah so in fact here it was the old
music room when I bought the house there
were two pianos in this room
I like the rugs so they are
Bulgarian rugs I
bought it in Avignon at a flea market a
big flea market that has every month
and I really fell in
love with this rug and I think it
found its
place well in this room at first I
wanted to do something very
dark
really this glass there but in the whole
room and then I backed off because I
said to myself it could still
scare my clients so I
just painted this wall llama
it was in the in the house it
was in the attic so I
also think that it found its place well
I really wanted to keep a little of
the history of the house this door well
of course it was cleaned but it
is really in the state in which
I found it and I really
wanted to keep it like that and if you open it
I also kept the wallpaper which
was in the whole room and which was
stuck on the door when I started
the work the first thing we
did was remove all the
tapestries because there was
tapestry everywhere and they were very
pretty and above all it is that removing the
tapestry we saw uh the past of the
house and all the eras of
tapestry I would have so much liked to
keep them on the walls but it was
impossible the walls were too damaged
it was too complicated the bathroom
was of course created from scratch
it is the same light fixtures no of Yeah
exactly the cachepaux were pot covers
the cache-p you just have to make
holes in them and you make one and then it
allows you to pep it up a bit and avoid
that look a bit too old too
classic this
suspension I really love it and
it was in a room it was
full of grease you couldn't see it at all
and when I started to clean it I
said to myself "But it's magnificent
it's magnificent." The centerpiece
of this bathroom is still
the mirror, this mirror was in the house
above a fireplace and likewise I
found it really magnificent so it was
enough to simply turn it over and
clean it a little, it is really in
good condition
this chair is part of a
pair that I bought on Le Boncoin which
is still a really
interesting resource for
those who like second-hand goods and
recycling and there too I think it has a
good place, it has its place,
many customers would like to leave
with it but no it is not it is not
possible it is not possible I
really like the velvet this green it is these
flowers I bought these chairs at the
Saut garage sale and the gentleman was
selling six of them they were raw you could
see all the welds and I
hesitated to buy them I thought
strange and then after I said to myself oh
by repainting them it should do it and that is what
I did then this
chandelier I absolutely wanted it it is a
chandelier from Floating House they make
really beautiful things so
it's from
Laon lots of old books in the
house and I was really lucky
that the previous owners left them to me
we visit your room
so it's
Adelle's room so there you see we are on
colors a little more a little more neutral
white with a tint of a tint
of
blue the decoration above the fireplace
we think it's a it
was the outline of a clock
the wardrobe was in the house it I
decided to repaint it I
always hesitate I think a lot before
repainting furniture but there it was
too complicated for
the to renovate
the homemade light fixture with a
lampshade from
Muskinen
it's made in Nepal and he works with
felt and we will find it in the
shop I really like what they
do
so the library so it was
filled with books and I kept the key
and on this key which is an
old key there is a small key ring on
which is written the cupboard of good
mother there so it was the cupboard of
good mother I know not who was good
mom but in any case it was her
cupboard and so I repainted it of course
it was made of wood and inside only
objects that were in the that
were in the house and so this little
cupboard which is very interesting so there is
a tapestry that I have that I
put up myself and
inside yeah it had already been
when I bought it had already been uh
covered with
newspapers and I left it like that because
I thought it was really good there were
a few holes so it was necessary to
tinker and I did it with
magazines that I found in the attic
I have all the copies of mode
pratique from 1895 to 1960 and it was therefore
the women's magazine of the time I
will show you the bathroom that you
know well you know yes it was my
room so here there was a
very small bathroom and to
enlarge it and allow it to be fitted out
with the necessary comfort I took
from the
living room this is one of the
practical fashion covers that I was telling you about
earlier yeah so what I like
is turning the frames over and seeing what
's behind them because in fact
you often find little
wonders and I think that's
really very very beautiful
[Music]
[Music] [Music] [
Music]
we go up we go up I'll take you to the
Léon and Marcel suite
so we arrive in the Léon and
Marcel suite Léon and Marcel were the first
names of my grandparents that
I loved very much
so here again we are in a suite with
two bedrooms a bathroom and a
dressing room it's the only room with the
view and what a view once again the linen linen
so for the most part it's the
Passion for Linon brand in fact it's
Dutch I checked yesterday yeah
same put word
simplicity of the small tables of
[Music]
chevooké with old
cement tiles placed
on them which were in the house it
means that in the past there had this
tiling somewhere
the
bathroom so it wasn't at all a
bathroom which was a kind of workshop in which
in the middle stood this workbench
and so the workbench found its place the
place here anyway it's very
difficult to move them especially since here
we are at the attic level so very
small staircase uh so it stayed there
and the plumber did a very nice
installation as I asked him and
I'm really pleased with it it pleases it
pleases
a lot and always one of the mirrors which
was always on one of the fireplaces in
the house I wanted to twist with
a little more contemporary lighting
the hidden room you the hidden room
the little door it makes Ah yeah it's
a dressing room it's the dressing room of the
bedroom
the second bedroom of the Léon
Marcel suite so it's more friends or
a family with children and the children
are here and they are rather happy the
small
church pews the same find the flea market of
saut
a piece of furniture that I found at the
yellow house which is a decoration
flea market store in the
village very pretty
it's a craftsman who does this
is a mixture of plaster and papier-
mâché we arrive at the living room the living room
boutique so it's the place where my
clients like to come and sit during
the day or at the end of the
day
read have a little drink and enjoy life enjoy life
enjoy life
too so it's a boutique too
my clients have the possibility to buy
a little bit of what they liked in the in
their room or in the house you
see we find products from
Musquen there is a little bit of
second-hand goods we find the soaps which are
also in the in the rooms the
soaps which are made in saut
so here the lavender honey which is made
in the small village next door by the
Bonet family
very very good products which are
served in the morning at
breakfast so the centerpiece
of this of this room is still
this bed which I find magnificent it was
covered with an orange
fleece fabric which was difficult to
recover and so suddenly well I
ripped everything out to strip it down and I
left it as it was that it
arrives in the dining room so that's
where I serve breakfast
during
the winter once summer has
settled I serve breakfast
downstairs on the terrace under the arbor
so that my clients the real
Provençal life the real Provençal life my
clients love the portrait it's the
former owners who left it to me
it's the person who bought the house
in 1870 his name is Mr. Carbonel
and then through marriages the
family was called Léonard and so
I bought it from the Léonard family ah
and that's why the house is called
Maison
Léonard the little alcove
there there are pieces from a ceramist that
I love who works with all shapes
who also makes vases there's one a
little below who makes
dried flowers it's atelier 16 ellisabeth au
clair I really like what she does
so we arrive and well at the
garden level there we are at end of the village eh
at 10.5 m it's the It's the cliff
so you have to imagine under the vine arbor
and this brings us to the end of this
home tour video thank you so much Valéri for
opening your beautiful chambre d'eau
to us this beautiful house I think
you've done such an amazing job keeping
its original charm but adding more
modern touches and giving it lots of
personality if you want to visit Valé
and this region and stay at her chambre
d'inktion box as always I thank you so
much for watching and I will see you
again in the next
