oh yeah oh got him oh Destin Harbor has evolved from a humble fishing Village into a bustling Hub of Maritime activity with Origins tracing back to the early 19th century Dustin Harbor's history weaves together fishermen settlers and a gradual transformation into a sought-after vacation destination today instead of launching and leaving the harbor to go fish elsewhere we're staying put and we're targeting fish residing within the harbor all right good morning guys we're down here at Destin Harbor I came down yesterday had some technical malfunctions so the video did not turn out but I caught some big fish and a bunch of fish and they are all over here so we've got live bull minnows did you get any shrimp no okay no shrimp but that's all right the pin Fisher here so shrimp is not going to be good anyway but big mangroves nice mangroves so let me finish getting set up and we'll get to fishing all right guys we're just using bull minnows today uh you see just a little baits but these mangrove snapper just love them so I saw a big one right here just a minute ago and I'm just freelining right now you I you hook them in the nose and they like to swim down oh yeah he oh oh my God yeah there's there's big ones there man I'm not lying oh oh here he comes oh God take it you son of a biscuit oh he's coming towards yours oh my gosh there's I just saw another monster man oh they're like just I wonder if I got we'll have to go to surely it's not they're not line shy right now nice all right let's start over here that's a nice little chunk First Blood First Blood already whoa yes I really didn't do good yesterday until the got some oh oh God dang it I'm gonna cut your line dang it man these guys are some thieves oh oh that was that was huge oh my God dang man no that you should have seen the one that just hooked after getting broke off a couple times I decided to drop the GoPro and see what was actually underneath this Boardwalk and the first thing I noticed was the abundance of sharp structure you can see all of these pilings were just covered with oysters and Barnacles from top to bottom and these go all the way back underneath the boardwalk where we're fishing so this let me know that I really had to have my drag pretty much locked down because if they pull any drag they're going to go straight into the pilings and cut you off and like I said earlier you can see shrimp would be out of the question just because the pinfish are just so abundant down there they would just pick a hook clean of shrimp in seconds the most important thing I saw was the large number of eatable mangroves all of those mangroves that I'm seeing are keeper size well over 10 inches and we would see schools from the surface come through of 15 to 20 mangroves all good size so now I know they're down there I just got to figure out how I'm gonna catch them and get him to the surface oh Brock the school's here I'm fishing with my new setup today which is a seven foot Ninja tackle dagger with a Shimano Spiros 2500 reel got em oh yeah that Chum worked man they're thick now just thrown out some dead bull minnows to Chum with you got a ruler that one's definitely over 10 inches though Here Comes Fred foreign I'm going to 15 pound and freelining so I was using 15 pound braided line with a 20 pound fluorocarbon leader and it just seemed like I wasn't getting as many hits as Brock was he was using 15 pounds so I decided to lighten my leader all right let's get crazy guys let's go with 10 pound that ought to be about invisible to him oh they swim up to it and then got him good one oh no I think he yep damn it that was a big one maybe I'll start by dang it all right here we go got him yeah [Music] all right let's try this method this worked yesterday took a live one in the tail s got one watch out big old fatty finally jeez nice fatty that makes it worth it they sure are fat here they are all right let's get him on some eyes he hit a stunned minnow so I'm gonna do that again this is a good one got him ah whoa unhooked nice another good one all right guys got another keeper gotta get two more to get our limit so they've been hard to come by today they're pretty pretty slick today so we're gonna throw him in the cooler oh yeah oh do you see him that was a good one oh we found them oh boy ah yeah got it got our limit it's a nice fatty you know what the problem was they wanted the little ones we were out of them those last two were on tiny ones all this left again whoops all right we got our limit guys might throw out one or two more baits put this one in the cooler but uh we're almost done all right guys I hope you enjoyed the video it was a little tougher fishing today than yesterday uh unfortunately the camera footage didn't turn out real good yesterday but we did get our limit we caught some slab mangroves caught a few small ones got broke off by several key today was smaller baits uh these fish don't always want big baits sometimes they wanted to they want The Little Bull minnows today put out a big one they'd follow it but they wouldn't hit it so uh thanks to Ego tactical fishing gear for the bait cooler that worked really good today it's insulated it kept the water cold so all the bull minnows stayed alive so worked real good so uh I hope you learned something I learned a couple things and uh tight lines
