Oh, hey, how you doing? Get in here. Let's do this. Hey, what's going on?
I'm David from Renaissance and we're here on the Severed Gullet Tour with Nailed
Shut and Slamwich. And this is our RV.
Right over here is our guitarist extraordinaire and also our main driver,
Mr. Trucker Dave over here, Dave Dunsire, crushing it every day,
keeping us safe, keeping us rolling.
We have a couple of things up here that we'll show you. Yeah.
Um, so we've found some amazing things, uh,
by accident like in the hallway of the apartment complex. Um,
we have found the dream catcher and we've had to have it on us ever since.
Yeah. It's kept us safe. That's, that's been on every tour we've done.
Swear jar is a little new. Yeah. Yeah.
I found this at the dollar store, um, at one of the venues and it's already pretty
full. No reason why, um,
try to encourage healthy habits, not swear. Swearing is bad. Um,
yeah, I drink a lot of Coke zero. Um, it's zero sugar. Um,
but they're not sponsored. Yeah. Not sponsored. Um, but yeah,
a lot of these end up living up here of course. And the keys,
the very, very important touring band like necessity,
the little Bucky's beaver right here. We love Bucky's. Oh yes we do.
Bucky's should sponsor bands.
There are two songs that we end up listening to on repeat and only two songs.
Dave, do you want to say what they are? Yeah,
I have ADHD and I'll just play the same song over and over and over again. Um,
so it lately it's been, we bring the boom, uh, and then rock and roll McDonald's.
Um, so like, yeah, just that. Um, sometimes we'll actually,
Tom Jones lately has been like on blast.
That's been like another kind of in rotation. Um, and then,
and then like there's a Shrek slam band that's super sick. Uh,
we were listening to that last night. It was a lot of fun.
We do a lot of singalongs in here and there,
there is always very much a co-captain here cause we're always trying to keep
things safe and responsible in the rig. And when that's happening,
especially cause I'm usually working at the time,
the boys up here like to play trivia. Yeah.
They keep themselves going and keep themselves awake and coherent with just
endless trivia, which this one is surprisingly good at. Yeah.
Well just like YouTube trivia. Um, and like science ones are really cool.
Um, Luke is really good at the music trivia.
I'm for some reason really bad at it. Um, Ron, uh,
is really good at like more of the math, uh,
trivia and I'm really good at like random useless fact trivia. So very nice.
We also do have a little bit of Dave's personal vice up here with the Pokemon
cards. Yeah. No good rips. So this is just the discard file for now.
Not today at least. Yeah. There's five of us on this tour,
including our front of house and four of us in the band.
So it's not really cramped in here, but we are using every sleeping space.
This is where we typically hang out.
We like to convert this back into more of like a hangout space when we can,
but that turns into a bed for Dave.
This turns into a bed for our front of house and there's actually some beds
hidden right back here. Welcome to the beds.
This is Luke. Luke plays drums. Luke and Ron hang out up here.
This is their bed. It's actually way more spacious than it looks.
I can go all the way back here. Yeah. Very, very cool. They sleep up here.
It's a little less bumpy back here where it's the most bumpy on the drives is in
the back where I'll take you guys in just a moment, but they'll hang out in here.
We all sleep fairly comfortably in here and in the,
even in the cold we're touring in the winter right now.
The heating system in these things is surprisingly great.
We've been pretty comfortable,
very fortunate that we have no problems with these things. Knock on everything.
Oh yeah. A lot of blankets to kind of insulate things,
but we're having a good time in this one. It's a shout out the Bucky's pillow.
I love Bucky's.
Yeah, this is our table. We use our table for chilling during the day.
And at night, Mr. Dunsire sleeps here. Not here, but it, you know,
it converts. Oh yeah. That thing.
David's longer than between these two cushions. Um, yeah.
Unfortunately everyone else is a little taller. Sure. True. Uh,
I'll play switch on here. Set it up. Luke and I'll kind of chill here. Um,
Luke will be on his, uh, three D S you rain. Yeah.
Um, but right now we have a bunch of stuff stored here.
There's a little less storage than stuff. Yeah.
We have a lot more stuff with us this time. Cause Tory in the winter,
you gotta be ready for anything.
So we've got like all of our personals in all of these various bins and cabinets
on the sides here. And then I have my stuff in the back,
which I'll show you in just a moment.
And now we enter my favorite part of the house where everything happens food
wise. We like to keep a tidy ship, like I said,
and I love having the ability to cook on tour,
especially with a lot of places we play and just traveling around all the time.
Sometimes it's tough to be able to like venture out and like find food and find
stuff.
That's going to like give you what you need to have the energy to perform and
the energy to get through these very busy days,
especially with all of us balancing so many different jobs like I am here.
So just having the peace of mind, being able to cook,
traveling with all the kind of cookware that we have, ways to store food,
ways to clean up everything,
making sure that everything's working appropriately,
having the ability to power on and get that microwave going,
be able to use things in that regard at all of this stuff,
work and function the way we want and need it to is spectacular.
I love it.
And I cook lots of different things in here when I have time or even just like
prep things that don't need to be cooked.
And it just definitely gives me more peace of mind when on tour.
And we do like to keep our living space a little unique of ourselves,
a little extra flair.
So we do have this very artistic Squidward painting here on the side.
We have a lot of fun.
I've got some food storage and I always make sure we're very stocked with
different things like paper plates, plastic cups, bowls,
like most everything microwave safe, lots of silverware in the back.
There's some snacks in there.
I have my own full cabinet of various food supplies that are all stacked all the
way back in here, which is much more spacious than you would think.
I'll have different stuff that has different amounts of protein in it.
I'll make sure to have different things carb wise in here.
Pretty simple stuff, nothing fancy,
but just the kinds of things that I can make really quick on the fly are kind of
what live in here.
And then we also have like various different things for cooking and stuff like
that,
making sure we keep tidy and then we get into the fridge,
which I will say since our time tour,
cause we haven't been touring for that long as Renaissance,
we've had to learn a lot of different things about how to operate these RVs and
I've had to spend a lot of time knowing how to fix everything.
So I know how to almost take everything in here apart and put it back together
again. And me and this fridge have gotten very, very familiar.
Now I've cooked a lot of the things in here.
There is a surprising amount of alcohol in here that was just given to us,
but I promise there's typically more food in here than you can see.
Some of my pre prepared food stuff is here in these Tupperware containers that I
grab. There's other stuff in here, stuff to hydrate with other things.
I entirely survive on these juice shots,
not like energy shots, but like big like vitamins all at once kind of thing.
More citrus, ginger, turmeric kind of deal that keeps me going.
Having the fridge and the freezer to be able to keep ice and other things as
well is really, really beneficial on tour. All right,
now normally we use these things a lot. We've got the shower right here,
which is so sweet that we have the ability to shower well and have hot water
running in this thing and clean water. And then we have the bathroom over here
and we can hang up towels and everything in here as well.
I keep my toiletries up here. Usually we've got stuff here,
first aid kit, that sort of thing. Now in the winter though,
the only thing about an RV or any kind of vehicle like this that you need to
keep in mind,
especially if you're the one responsible for it is the water will freeze
overnight if it's very cold. So everything pipes wise have been winterized.
So we're not, we don't have any running water in here right now,
but with the places we like to park and the places we go,
we tend to have places to shower, ways to spread out,
ways to be very, very comfortable,
even though we're not doing that in here on this specific tour.
But the rest of the tour, incredible to be able to have access to those things,
shower when you want and just the ability to do everything.
Now I'll take you to where the magic happens. Step into my office,
which is also where I live and sleep back here. And if there are more of us,
this is where more people would be stacked.
But this is where I tend to not even really do much sleeping,
but more so I have my whole workstation back here because not only am I still
operating everything that I do with extreme vocal Institute and as a vocal
coach and making sure I'm staying on top of stuff with that,
but I'm also tour managing this tour and all the other tours that we've been
doing for now. So I usually have my whole station.
I'll have like a printer plugged in over here.
We do get full like power and all the outlets and all of this thing too,
which is incredible. I'll use my phone as a hotspot.
I've got the printer paper going, I've got computer,
everything spread out and I kind of have like a whole home office just kind of
spread across this thing, which is pretty ridiculous looking.
And then I have my very many pocketed stage clothes hanging out right here,
making sure that stuff has like the ability to air out and stuff like that.
But I only, I honestly spend a lot of time back here getting work done.
And then when we're traveling,
we'll store various things for like merch and stuff like that back here,
as well as sometimes the guitars,
if it's a little too cold to keep them in the back.
We have a lot of fun doing this.
I have such a great time on tour and we feel really great being able to have
somewhere like this to call home and feel more safe and secure too.
And I love being able to take what I'm doing as a vocal coach and stuff with the
band and really combine it all into one thing while we're out here.
And like I said in the beginning, we're called Renaissance.
We have a new song out called Less Than Nothing right now.
You may have heard it on SiriusXM Liquid Metal.
That's still in rotation there right now.
And we're going to be playing that song tonight and every night of this tour.
And I'm sure the many that follow and there is more that we're working on as
well. But with that in mind,
we do need to start to prep to get ready for our set.
So unfortunately this is where we depart,
but thanks for watching and thank you for listening to us as well.
And if you didn't know us before,
I hope you enjoy and we'll catch you all later and we'll see you on tour.
