Hey what's up ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to my channel. Today I am in Pompeii, a very much
historic place. A lot of things happened here many many years ago and you know a devastating eruption
of a Vesuvio actually destroyed the city and today we're going to visit you know these remains
of Pompeii, check it out and you know see what's left because not for nothing this is
another pretty cool historic area and today we're going to check it out Pompeii, Italy.
As you can see guys this is the Vesuvio volcano which actually
destroyed this city so you can actually see the volcano, you can see the remains of Pompeii
and this is a pretty interesting view you know a very interesting view
fascinating how you can see the city and yet it's so empty and so destroyed
but you still can see the streets, you still can see you know some parts of the houses,
entrances to those houses, wow interesting
impressive place, very impressive place, so much history just right here, wow awesome
The city was buried under four to six meters of volcanic ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvio
in the year of 79. Largely preserved under the ash, Pompeii offers a unique snapshot of Roman
life frozen at the moment it was buried as well as insight into ancient urban planning.
It was a wealthy town of 10 to 20 000 residents at the time it was destroyed.
So
all right ladies and gentlemen a couple useful tips
this place is quite popular so it gets packed every day so I would recommend to come here early
around it opens at nine o'clock like right now it's nine o'clock and as you can see in this video
it's not that many people right the reason why I came so early because I actually wanted to film
empty Pompeii because that what makes it like super cool and super crazy because it's it's
pretty big place here listen it's a pretty big town and it's all destroyed and there is no life
okay but when you have a bunch of tourists well yeah it's a little bit different picture you know
so come early come at nine o'clock and pre-order your ticket basically buy your ticket online
sometimes it's not possible so you can pre-order it so you can just you know come here and pick it
up and boom you're done or if you have an option to buy it online which I actually had uh buy it
online and just come in and that's it very simple
very interesting feeling guys because as you can see Pompeii I mean it's still here you know you
still can see the streets you still can see this very old roads but yet well it's a ghost town now
no people no life no nothing wow crazy crazy but very interesting very interesting
place to visit guys so if you're going to be in Naples come check it out it's literally
like 35 minute train ride from Naples central train station so following its destruction Pompeii
largely undisturbed until its rediscovery in the late 16th century but major excavations did not
begin until the mid 18th century which marked the necessity of modern excavations and since 1960s
this place was getting cleared and explored by archaeologists but even until today it's still
like an ongoing project actually Pompeii remaining is an active archaeological site and some parts of
the city are still undiscovered actually Pompeii is a UNESCO world heritage site owning to its
status as the only archaeological site in the world that provides a complete picture of an
ancient roman city it is among the most popular tourist attractions in Italy with approximately
2.5 million visitors annually so this place is very much popular guys
not for nothing guys look at the remains of the floor this is incredible wow
this is incredible after the devastating eruption of the volcano after all these years
centuries i would say being just exposed it's still here you can see the details of this
floor mosaic well the city used to have a wall which you know a good portion of this
wall still survived it's right here and a few towers i'm on top of one tower and
right here it's another tower well half of it but yeah this place used to have a wall
and yet that's what happened
so many years passed and hey it's still here
some people think that Pompeii is a biblical city but to be honest Pompeii is not mentioned
in the bible at all the bible writers likely lived after Pompeii's destruction and may not
have heard about it because Pompeii was a small city actually but the population about 20 000
people it is truly unlikely that many people outside of the roman empire knew about it
same goes to the old testament which has been written centuries before the Pompeii got destroyed
so the story of the city's destruction couldn't be included in there either
but regardless of biblical status of Pompeii it is a truly historic place
where devastating eruption of mount Vesuvius buried the whole entire city for centuries
and today 2 000 years later we are visiting this place to explore long gone roman empire
well ladies and gentlemen at this very moment i want to say thank you so much for watching thank
you so much for your time i hope you really enjoyed this video from Pompeii Italy please
