2025 Regular Session - Sine Die - HB 662 FCCR Vote Explanation, Speaker Osborne

thank you Mr Speaker explain my yes vote Yes Sir Mr Speaker I am um often Amazed by some of the things that I hear on this floor but to hear the statement made that this bill forces us to make a choice between private schools and the public good is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard on this floor and I keep hearing people say they don't want to relitigate Amendment two um so w relitigate Amendment two but you I've always known that there was a disdain of some people for private schools for privilege for people that don't fit neatly in a a pre-arranged spot where we want to put them but I never I never really understood that that disdain reached the level of Public Safety of our kids so much so that we are proudly vote we're proudly not voting to not protect a kid because that kid goes to a private school and on this day when many of us are serving the last day that we will ever serve on this house floor I proudly vote Yes to protect every kid in Kentucky [Applause]
