Mar 29, 2025
Thank you Mr. Speaker. Today I recognize and honor one of my most beloved constituents,
Coach Mark Pope, for his extraordinary achievements during his first season as head coach
of the University of Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team. This year he has led his team
to a current winning record of 24 to 11 and to a highly anticipated appearance in the NCAA Sweet
16, a remarkable milestone for any college team. Mark Pope is an athlete and a coach of the highest
caliber and a source of tremendous honor and pride to UK, to the Commonwealth, and to Wildcats fans
everywhere. I wish to congratulate Coach Pope on having achieved such extraordinary success
in his inaugural season as head coach and extend to him best wishes for the utmost success
and good fortune as he leads our Wildcats to victory in the NCAA tournament.
Mr. Speaker, I move for adoption and go Cats. Without objection, so ordered.
