HIGHLIGHTS | PSV - Ajax

PSV against Ajax. Back to May last year, when PSV became national champions. Ajax ended up with 35 points behind Eindhoven. Now, at the end of March 2025, Ajax have a 6-point lead. They still have eight games to play in the Eredivisie. Ajax have gone to Eindhoven as leaders. PSV have to start with a draw. Do they want to extend the title? PSV against Ajax rarely disappoint. There's love between Robby and Lange. But that will be different for at least 90 minutes. Robby. It's going just fine over there, in the crowd. Fagioni. A free kick. There's going to be some powerplay with Flamingo and Robby. Saibari. Fehrman. Toussaint. A little too much for Ajax, with five men in the 16-metre area. Benitez, with five men and one pass, is out of position. Can Saibari speed it up? Is there room for PSV now? With Lange going for Rosa, who has no cover. Noah Lange, first shot. In the hands of Matheus. A long pass from Matheus towards Robby. Taylor. He easily runs away from Joey Fehrman. Taylor. The ball is hit. Pragmaticus against the idealist Farioli. Bosz. A shot from Joey Fehrman towards De Jong. It's a header, but it's in Matheus' hands. Taylor. Henderson, Klaassen, Robby. It's looking good. Well played by Robby. Flamingo. It could be a chance for Ajax, with Gots on the bench. Mika Gots is there. He passes it to Hato. The game is still going on. Mika Gots. Robby with a free header. That was the first serious chance of the game. A weak header by Brian Robby. A completely free position. Robby. And that duel after he played the ball. Bosz Karny with the unbelief. It's sometimes a bit theatrical, how Robby processes those shots. It's to Henderson. He shoots the ball into the PSV goal. Rosa with the header. Out of the box. It's a shot. A shot by Davy Klaassen. It's Ajax who lead 1-0 in Eindhoven. After Bosz Karny's fatal foul on Robby... ...it's a free kick for the Amsterdammers. Davy Klaassen takes the lead in the second half. He shoots the ball to Benitez. The leader in Eindhoven. Klaassen's eighth goal of the season. Berghuis. Robby. He keeps going. Flamingo. And there's the first yellow card of the game for Ajax' top scorer. Flamingo has been fighting for the first few seconds. Here he crosses the line. It's a slip-up. The first game against NAC Breda. Peter Bosz makes a double change. Till and Veerman don't return for the second half. Tillman and Malasia, the substitutes. Malasia. Perisic. Saibari. He shoots it for De Jong's feet. This was a save by Mauro and Robby. The game continues. Tillman's header. A combination. De Jong. PSV move up. Saibari. 1-4 in the second half. Lang-Dest was on the move. A great pass by PSV. The ball is just about to be touched. On his way to Dest. He needs to make a small correction so he can't take the free kick. PSV combine their strength. Flamingo. A move by Mauro. A 16-meter shot with the ball. A problem with Baas. Baas can't go any further. Rubani. He's ready for a new goalkeeper. Traoré for Berghuis. Traoré. Malasia. He can try. He shoots it in the long corner. Ajax lead 2-0. It's a sporadic moment for them in the second half. Traoré is very skillful. The whole of Eindhoven has been looking forward to this match... ...as the turning point in this season's men's division. But Ajax have done a great job in the first half... ...compared to the ball. That's a bit less in the second half. But then there's the individual quality of Traoré. A long ball. A won duel with Malasia. A duel that might have been too easy. And then a dry shot in the long corner... ...outside of Benitez' area. That might be a decisive moment in the title race. Perisic. Desde is blocked. Hokani with the header. Teler. Ball picked up by Desde. That's a live ball. In the short corner, Lange tries. A disappointment in the PSV dugout. The stands with the injured Peppinje Schouten. The fans, who couldn't make it in the first half. A huge lead. Lange. He's... ...pretty frustrated after the goal by Noah Lange. He kicked the bar. He decides to take the ball in his own hands... ...and pass the ball to Slinger. Sometimes, in a frustrating afternoon... ...the PSV's image of Lange does change a bit. What a move by Teler. The cross to Klaasen. Brobby out of balance, finds the ball. Brian Brobby. And then Teler shoots it in. Over the goal by Benitez. Owen Wijndal's entry... ...means that Klaasen can't go any further. A letter. That fits. A letter. A manuscript for a new book. Henderson has to warn him.
