Well they break out of that huddle in their third strip, the off-white with the red trim,
Oxford in their yellow with the dark blue shorts, they're scrapping for their lives towards the
bottom end of the division, 42 points they have, they came into the weekend in 19th,
the Blades who came into the weekend at top of the pile, Burnley have just nipped back ahead
with their victory today at Coventry, Leeds stay below though after their draw at Luton,
plenty of twists and turns to go, six to go after today, Sheffield United working the ball just
outside of the Oxford penalty area, Brewster with the cross in the box, Halic will clear,
comes out to Burrows, Burrows out to the left-hand side for Gus Harmer,
Harmer into the box and Burrows round the back, shoots towards goal,
palmed away by Cumming, much better from Sheffield United.
The ball is swept into the middle, Gus Harmer a long way away from goal,
he's fed it with pace out to the right-hand side, here's Brederton-Diaz,
stood up there by the defender, it's chipped in towards Tyrese Campbell who got the shot away,
well that was outstanding all round, in the end it's saved by the goalkeeper.
So no score then as yet here at the Kassam Stadium, Will Vaux launches another long throw
into the open end here, up go the headers, here's Seriki Dembele and some hesitant Sheffield United
defending as Dembele smashed the ball past Michael Cooper, Oxford won, Sheffield United nil,
this wasn't in the scripts. Here's Gus Harmer, a little shimmy and a drop of the shoulder from him
onto City, pitch and as he'd rolled the defender, got the shot away right-footed,
Plahetta who's miles quicker than Jack Robinson but well he knows what he's doing in those
situations as the referee calls half-time. Not a lot in the game so far, it's fair to be said but
they've just got to improve on those moments, try and get a bit more possession together and create
a little bit more as well. Harrison Burrows gets the call from Gus Harmer, tight to the touchline,
Harmer works the ball into a more central position, Sidipec looks the goal threat,
here is Jack Robinson launching a long throwing into the penalty area, heads got key for Moore,
chance maybe, swing and a miss, oh well, Harmer floats the ball forward, is there a moment of
quality, maybe, Cannon fires, blocked at source, Cannon will get it back, 12 yards out, out he goes
to Raksaki, referee pulls his whistle to his mouth and that is that, Sheffield United's
quest for automatic promotion is hindered today by Oxford United,
beaten by the strugglers who started today in 19th place in the championship table,
Sariki Dembele's goal ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides despite the fact
that Tyrese Campbell, Sidipec, Harrison Burrows all had excellent chances, the Blades couldn't
get on the score sheet themselves today.
