The question I'm getting all the time right now is,
should I stop contributing to my retirement accounts?
Should I take money out of the market
with all the uncertainty with everything going on?
Is it the right time to sell?
And an assumption that people make
is because I've been studying this stuff
and I've been a financial advisor for over 20 years,
that I know where the market is going,
or even other financial professionals.
When you turn on CNBC,
people actually believe that the person sitting there
knows what's gonna happen next to where the market is going.
But the reality is,
nobody knows where the market is going, right?
We can look at history as a guide
and everybody has their own predictions
and their own thoughts about what they think
is going to happen next.
But don't get swayed by people's opinions
because that's all that they are.
And I always say,
you can have the 10 smartest people in the world
sitting in a room, air it on CNBC,
listen to them speak,
and all of them sound like they know
exactly what is going to happen.
But if you listen closely,
half the room will think one thing is gonna happen
and half the room will think that the opposite
is going to happen.
At the end of the day, nobody knows.
So don't change your plan.
Don't change what you're doing
just because you might feel
that the market is gonna go one way or the other,
or because somebody else said,
well, now's a great time to sell
because we've had a great run,
there's so much uncertainty, we need a pullback.
All of that sounds true, right?
And I might even buy into that,
but nobody knows.
We could continue going higher for very much longer.
We could go much lower.
Nobody knows, right?
It's all just educated guesses,
but at the end of the day,
if you start trying to time these things,
you're just gonna blow yourself up.
