I wear like a 7 3 8's hat. My issued helmet was a large extra large so
initially I went with a extra large from Ballistic Armor Company.
So that's the bungees. Moving back to the arc rails themselves they are a polymer
so they are very very dense polymer. Something else that has to do with the arc rail and the
helmet itself is this is a high cut so you've probably seen the high cut and maritime and
they're definitely two different different cuts. The maritime is cut a little bit higher
and the way you can usually tell is counting these notches right here.
So if there's four notches it's a traditional high cut if there's six
it's a maritime cut. They both do about the same thing it just really depends.
I know one guy who prefers the maritime because his ears are high on his head they're not normal
normal positioned ears so he's got to have that high cut in order to have his ear protection drop
perfectly square on his ears. Aside from that moving back from there as you can see there's
velcro all over the place. A little unsure if I want to use the cover because Ballistic
Armor Company did such a great job at providing me a lot of different mounting options so I may
end up shucking the cover and just running without one. So having said that it's really up to you.
Oh and it does come with a little picatinny adapter so you can put it anywhere on your arc
rail run a light or anything like that. So that's a little bit about the let's get into the
specifications themselves. The large is again as I covered earlier 3.3 pounds. It is a ballistic
helmet so it is rated at 3a it protects you against 44 magnum at 16 feet.
