25 Best Towns and Villages in Greece to Visit For an Incredible SUMMER. This Greece travel video features Athens, Paros, Lefkada, and Skiathos, alongside lesser-known spots like Finiki, Mandrakia, and Karpathos.
Greece attracts at least more than 35 million visitors every year and 5 million of them come from England.
Now, in this video, I will show you some islands, some villages, some cities, and some hidden gems,
and that's enough to start the hot season this year.
So, let's see 25 beautiful villages and cities that can be visited in Greece.
First, Spets.
Located in the heart of the island of Saronic and part of the island group of Saronic,
Spetses offers many things in terms of beaches, tourism, and of course, relaxation.
So, in my opinion, this is the right place to visit,
considering the distance is only one ferry ride from Athens, which will take you to this beautiful island in just a few hours.
This island stands out because of its architecture and architecture, especially in its capital city.
This is because of the big Venetian-style houses located in this city.
And what you will see throughout this video is the difference in architecture.
You will not find a car, so you can travel freely, without disturbance, and explore at your own pace.
However, don't forget the port of the island.
Around Dapia, you will find various cafes and bars to relax, drink, and walk when the sun sets.
However, the beaches on the island are enough as a reason to visit.
And if you enjoy the video, press the like button and subscribe so you will be notified about more videos in the future.
Number 2 is Kakari, a beautiful coastal village on the north coast of Samos.
So, this village is famous for its picturesque port, beautiful greenish blue waters, and very peaceful atmosphere.
In the past, this village was a peaceful fishing village, but now it has developed into a favorite destination, but still maintains its traditional persona.
The coastline is filled with various tiferas, cafes, and this is the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood and ocean views.
However, this place is also a good place for smooth winds due to its stable wind.
So, if you like this kind of activity, this is a good place.
However, outside the beach, you can explore the hiking trail nearby.
There are many lush grape gardens and unique mountain villages, and overall it makes a great combination of relaxation and adventure in Kufuya.
Now, this extraordinary destination is clearly neglected because of the interesting places around it such as Santorini and Emkos.
Okuanisia has all the famous neighborhoods in the world, but without many tourists and ships.
You see, Kufuya is technically made up of three islands, including Kato, Kufi, and Kiros, which are uninhabited.
However, all the advantages come in peace.
So, my advice for you is to make that place your base, especially for a sandy beach, natural caves, many trails to walk, and many restaurants that we really need.
However, don't forget to stop by the other two places for a day trip if you are really craving for excursion.
The next destination is Ebelos, a small coastal city on the north side of Vicario.
And this destination offers a combination of local life, history, and a beautiful sea view.
Now, unlike the more crowded tourist centers, here you will see fishermen depending on the results of their catch,
the residents of the place gather in small groups and the boats sway gently in the harbor.
This city has a mix of neoclassical buildings, narrow streets that lead to cafes, delicious bread shops, and markets that sell fresh fish.
The campus beach nearby offers a quiet place to swim.
Meanwhile, the hills around it have a climbing trail that offers an amazing view of Kunci Ayan.
Hali is a small island in the middle of the island of Dodanis and is located near the island of Rots, which is much more crowded.
Still not touched by the crowded tourists.
This is a perfect vacation spot for a quiet vacation.
Now it has some amazing beaches and its main village has a unique charm.
The bonus is that Hali is connected to the road through the ferry.
So it's very easy to visit on a day trip.
Don't forget Norio, which is a unique small village on the east side of Hali that offers some of the best traditional architecture.
This coastal village is full of cafeterias, restaurants, and shops, and is the best place to enjoy long walks by the sea at night.
Even to this day, there is an old medieval castle that should be visited on the hill above the village of Coro.
Don't miss it.
Casos is a very small and simple island located on the southern tip of the island of Dodanis.
This is quite far from the usual tourist route that many people pass for the sake of the neighboring city or Cappadocia.
Casos reminds me of the early days of Greek tourism.
Quiet streets with local character, warm and friendly residents, authentic taverns and cafes, as well as extraordinary places and rich history.
There are also five main villages in Casos and this island is very mountainous.
So, Casos is an amazing alternative for some of the denser Greek islands.
No. 7 is Pir and is the largest preserved village in Santorini, which once became the capital of the island.
So, this place was built on a hillside that offers a wide view of the island, but the good thing is that this place is far from crowded brothels.
Now, unlike the famous coastal cities that you will see on Instagram, you will not find a swimming pool without a limit or luxury suite here.
On the contrary, Pagos has more local nuances that are calmer, narrow alleys, historical houses and small cafes.
So, this place is not filled with crowds of people enjoying the sunset or tourist boats.
And that makes it a good place to explore at a slower pace and feel the far different side of Santorini.
And continue by finding these little gems in Santorini, we arrive at No. 8, Emro Vigli, one of the highest villages in Santorini that offers an amazing view of the Caldera without the hustle and bustle of people.
So, this place is calmer, known for its white-painted buildings, winding pavements, and a luxurious but peaceful atmosphere.
However, this village is also home to the Scarosrog. It is a high-rising mountain formation that used to be the centerpiece of the Middle Ages.
So, this is a short but very steep climb that will take you to the top, where you will find cliffs and some amazing sea views.
So, this is one of the best places on this island to enjoy all the dramatic views far from the usual tourist places.
Now, this is one of the most amazing Greek islands and is located in the heart of the Ionian Sea, connected to the main land by a small bridge.
Now, Lefka is a relaxing vacation spot and this place is perfect for anyone who wants to see a glimpse of the village life of the Greek island.
And I think this is perfect if you are visiting Ataturk during the quiet season.
And as one of the larger pocket areas on the Ionian Islands, this area has a wide, full depth with steep mountains and tall villages.
All of this is surrounded by thick forests, olive trees, and bushes.
So, moreover, the entire east coastline is a series of beautiful hidden lakes and ancient fishing villages.
And the most interesting is Porto Kassiki and Kalamitsu Beach.
Number 10, Finiki.
This is a beautiful coastal settlement located in the west of the capital city of Cappadocia.
This place is famous for fish shops that serve delicious food and local dishes.
So, if you are a culinary lover and especially a Greek culinary lover, you will like this location.
So, in my opinion, this is a very good choice to spend your summer vacation, especially if you go with your family.
Now, we have arrived at one of my favorite beaches, an island in the middle of the island of Ciclades.
The island of Paris will give you what you want.
Beautiful natural scenery, many coastlines, and easily becoming one of the most beautiful Greek islands because it has an endless sandy beach, beautiful mountains, and villages at the top of the cliffs.
So, this place is only a short distance from Athens, which is easy to access from Piraeus.
The good thing is that you can move to other popular islands on the island of Ciclades, such as Mkos and Santorini, and even Nexus.
So, once again, the location is perfect and you have two main villages in Paris such as Parakia and NSA.
A lot can be done, a lot can be seen and is really suitable for everyone.
Number 12, Camari.
A coastal village that is very interesting located on the south coast of Santorini which is famous in the northern foot of the mountain.
Now, its name comes from a small curve that is part of an ancient holy place dedicated to Poseidon standing on the southern edge of the beach.
So, the main attraction of this location is the Camari beach, which is the most popular on the island.
This place is very clean, tidy with chairs, umbrellas, and beach guards, so this place is perfect for the family.
And the length of the curve is just below the mountain.
Unlike most beaches in Santorini, this beach has very thick volcanic sand.
So, there is no doubt that the view is very amazing.
There are many five-star hotels, many accommodations that are much cheaper to choose from, and much cheaper than Vraa and Oya.
Now, this is located on a quiet coast on the island of Mylos in Greece.
A coastal gem with a unique charm.
Located near the island village and Mandraya, just a stone's throw from the cloudy Saraco beach, which you will see later in this video,
but it is famous for its moon-like scenery.
The iconic Mandra boat not only embodies the colorful sea water, but is also a proof of the history of the village's maritime.
This traditional building used to accommodate fishing boats and equipment,
but now offers a very interesting background for your holiday exploration that is far from the crowd.
And I highly recommend you to visit the Sarakiniko beach.
Now, this beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mylos and of course the most special.
Located along the coastal road in the east of Adamas, which is in the east of the island's sea.
The entire landscape is formed by volcanic rocks and does not show signs of vegetation or pine trees,
which are all bright white, which makes it an interesting contrast with the old blue water around it.
This is a must-visit destination.
It is really different from other Greeks and its stunning view gives the impression of standing on the moon's surface.
Number 15 is Irakoula.
Not far from Koufania and this is a beautiful small island,
Irakoula is a small island and is not yet crowded among small villages suitable for anyone looking for total peace and rest from the crowds of tourists with only a few villages and a population of only a few hundred people.
Life here runs at a slow and authentic pace.
It has two small villages and both have traditional architecture, but Aos is more developed in terms of tourism.
There you will find several rooms and several fish shops, but apartments and other villas are scattered throughout the island.
Regarding the beach, everything is amazing, but most of it is remote and not crowded.
So, this island offers privacy and the opportunity to get away from everything.
Although relatively unnoticed, compared to the Greek islands around it, Nakos is one of the most interesting destinations in this country.
The ancient past and the strong influence of Venice and France are responsible for many ancient sites.
Well, this is one of the two favorites in this list.
Well, Kora, the capital of Nexus, is a mix of beautiful Venetian architecture and traditional, and you will see it while walking.
Above the white-painted houses, Kora stands on the side of the Venetian castle that embodies the charm of the Middle Ages.
So, if you've never been to Nexus before, I'm sure you'll be amazed by this destination.
Number 17 is Antiparos.
Well, Antiparis is a calmer and calmer alternative than Paris, and it is very suitable for those who want to avoid the crowds while still enjoying the charm of the Cyclades.
Only with a short ferry trip from Paris, this is a small island, crystal clear water, and an amazing beach.
Like most of the Greeks, this place feels more untouched.
Traditional white-painted villages, family roads to the ferry, and a more peaceful life.
But one of the most interesting is the famous Antiparos cave, a limestone cave filled with large rock formations.
So, that's a great activity you can do after relaxing in the village.
So, are you looking for a peaceful resting place, a beautiful beach or hidden caves?
Antiparos not only offers a remote Greek part, but also an amazing Greek island experience.
Scyos, one of the most beautiful and green Greek islands, and this island has an eternal green appearance thanks to the trees scattered throughout the place.
However, what makes Scythos so charming and interesting is its impressive coastline.
In fact, there are more than 60 beaches with white sand or soft sandstone and of course beautiful crystal clear water.
So, if you are thinking of going, this island is famous for its lively nightlife which makes it one of the main tourist destinations.
So, do you feel like going on an adventure because of the mountains, or do you want to see the panoramic view of the hills or even the Scythian port?
I still think that this tourist destination is right for all kinds of tourists.
Whether with family, partner, or solo.
Next is Delelvi.
In Indonesian, located at the foot of Mount Ponosus, the Pan-Hellenic era, Delelvi is home to the most famous ancient Greek pyramids which are waiting for you in peace.
Considered the center of the world in ancient times, Delelvi is the center of culture and religion of the Hellenic civilization.
So, it easily becomes one of the most important and interesting archaeological sites in Greece.
So, when you think about Greece, before we even think about the beach, people think about archaeological sites and history.
And Delelvi offers amazing natural views that reflect the historical significance of the place.
But it is famous for one thing in particular, the Oracle of Delelvi.
Now, this pyramid is famous in ancient Greece because visitors from all over the Mediterranean will visit to receive the oracle of the ancient Greek god Apollo.
So, it is definitely worth visiting, even if you are not interested in history.
Number 20. Meteora
In Indonesian, stretching dramatically from the Tessili plain, the formation of meteorite rocks that stretch high, creates a lifetime experience from the most otherworldly Greek landscape.
Now, these very large stone pillars are formed by millions of years of erosion that are covered by age-old pyramids that seem to be against gravity.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site was once home to 24 caves built by cave dwellers looking for solitude and spiritual elevation.
Today, only 6 are still active, welcoming people to explore their ship, a peaceful site, and an amazing terrace facing the vast belly below.
Now, this is an unforgettable experience when visiting Greece.
A complete contrast from all other Greek villages and beaches that are usually visited by most people.
This is an extraordinary natural wonder.
Number 21. Napio
So, this destination is a bit of a favorite weekend run for locals in Athens, a beautiful coastal city in the Peloponnese with rich history.
Formerly, this city was the first modern Greek city in 1828 before Athens took over in 1834.
This city is located along the coastline on the east coast to the south.
Now, unlike the famous island destination in Greece, Nafplio offers a more relaxed coastal atmosphere without the crowd you always see in Santorini or Emkos.
Only 2 hours by car from Athens, a perfect place to enjoy history, enjoy a beautiful beach view, and avoid the crowd for a more relaxed Greek experience.
And as I said, only 2 hours from Athens.
Number 22. Galaxy
Another small coastal city on the north coast of Corinth.
So, this destination is famous for its maritime history and neoclassical houses.
Formerly, it was the center of shipbuilding that flourished.
This city still carries a strong northern identity with beautiful harbors filled with typhoons and special fishing boats.
So, the coastline is perfect for relaxing while the hills covered by pine trees nearby offer a peaceful hiking run.
So, unlike other more crowded destinations, the Galaxy City is calm, authentic, and the right choice for those who want to feel the authentic Greek coastal life.
Here you will not find crowded beaches or crowded resorts.
Other sports and short trips from Athens.
Number 23 is Athens, the capital of Greece.
It is also the heart of ancient Greece, a strong civilization and empire.
Now, the city and the reason why you should visit it is because this city is still dominated by 5th century landmarks, including the Acropolis,
a tower at the top of a hill overlooking an ancient building such as the Quilpathonon, the greatest symbol of ancient Greek success, which is spectacular in the center of the city of Athens.
And like the visitors from thousands of years ago who came to worship here,
you can also walk on the marble stairs on the west side to find yourself surrounded by tall pillars, both majestic and not.
So, this city is seen from almost every part of the city, even when you are in a different environment in Athens, and this city is the center that is still the center of the city.
Indonesian language, a reminder for the Greeks about their heritage and many transformations of the city.
And after you visit the Acropolis and you want to run away from the crowd and the hustle and bustle and just go for a little walk,
then go to Anapotika, which is a beautiful small environment.
Now, this is a very unique destination.
This is a city on the Greek island of Rhodes, and is known as the Acropolis at the top of the hill, which has a monumental fourth-century gate.
Pakos or Paksi, there are so many different names, is the smallest main Ionian island located south of KFU.
Very fertile and green with several port cities and known as one of the most beautiful small islands in Greece.
Most of the beach is covered with crystal clear water surrounded by pinus trees and olive gardens.
However, the capital city of Gaios or Iaos on the east side of the island is small and beautiful with traditional Venetian and Ionian architecture,
and quite crowded in the hot season and has various facilities that are good for such a small place.
It can be an interesting place for your vacation.
And there it is, this is my choice.
Places you may visit in Greece on your next summer vacation.
I hope you get some good ideas and maybe some locations you have never visited.
