Welcome to one of the most iconic islands in the world, Santorini.
Here are the top 10 places you must see in Santorini.
Number 10.
The Lighthouse of Akrotiri.
Located at the very end of the Akrotiri peninsula, the lighthouse is one of the oldest in Greece,
built in 1892.
It stands proudly above the sea, offering a peaceful and panoramic view of the Aegean.
Number 9.
The Heart of Santorini.
A hidden gem close to Megalochori, a natural rock formation with a heart-shaped hole overlooking
the caldera.
It's a favorite photo spot for couples, with a backdrop that captures the essence
of Santorini's raw beauty.
Nearby, the little chapel of Agios Nikolaos completes the romantic scene.
Number 8.
The Black Beach.
Stretching all the way from Parissa to Kamari, the Black Beach is one of Santorini's most
famous spots, known for its volcanic black sand.
This beach offers calm, clear waters perfect for swimming, and a lively atmosphere with
plenty of beach bars, cafes and restaurants.
Number 7.
Profitis Ilias Mountain.
At 567 meters, it's the highest point of the island.
From the summit, you get a 360-degree panoramic view of Santorini.
On the top stands the Monastery of Profitis Ilias and the Church of Agios Nektarios, a
peaceful stop above the clouds, perfect for reflection and photos.
Number 6.
Skaros Rock.
Below the village of Imerovigli rises Skaros Rock, an impressive rock formation that once
held a medieval fortress.
The short hike takes you through ancient ruins and leads to an incredible viewpoint.
Behind the rock, there's a hidden chapel.
The Church of Theos Kapasti offers an unbeatable view of the deep blue Aegean.
Number 5.
Red Beach.
Perhaps the most unique beach on the island, Red Beach near Akrotiri is famous for its
crimson-colored cliffs and red sand.
Created by volcanic activity, the scenery is surreal.
Access is sometimes limited due to landslides, so check before visiting.
But if it's open, it's a must-see.
Number 4.
Fira.
The vibrant capital and largest town of Santorini, Fira is perched dramatically on the edge of
the caldera.
It offers stunning views of the volcano and the Aegean Sea, along with plenty of shops,
cafes and restaurants to explore.
From here, you can also descend to the old port or catch the cable car for a scenic ride.
Number 3.
Imerovigli.
Known as the Balcony to the Aegean, Imerovigli is quieter than Fira, but offers one of the
most breathtaking caldera views.
Walk the cliffside path from Fira to Imerovigli, a scenic route filled with photo opportunities
and serenity.
It's also a top spot to enjoy the famous Santorini sunset.
Number 2.
Amudi Bay.
Located just below Oia, Amudi is a charming little port known for its seafood tavernas
and boat tours.
But keep walking past the restaurants and you'll find a hidden swimming spot, possibly
the best in Santorini.
Across from it is the islet with the chapel of Agios Nikolaos, where brave swimmers love
to dive.
Number 1.
Oia, no introduction needed.
Oia is the crown jewel of Santorini.
With its iconic whitewashed houses, blue domes and narrow cobbled streets, it's a living
postcard.
Here you'll feel like you're inside a dream, especially during sunset, when the sky sets
on fire and applause fills the air.
It's one of the most photographed places on earth, and once you visit, you'll understand
why.
