All right, guys. What's up? Here we go.
Here I am right there. I'm with the UBC,
Carlo Palza. Nice big abandoned house
behind us. Built in
1850. Huge house, lots of rooms, full of
stuff. And there's a squatter sleeping
in one of the bedrooms. So, we're going
to leave him alone. Might go get him
some pizza later on and uh show our
appreciation. But you guys know what to
do. Cue the music. Cue the intro. UBC.
See you guys on the inside.
[Music]
Do it. Here we go, guys. Me and UBC
getting it
done. Abandoned house. Brand new. Fresh
location, guys. Dude, way do you guys
see how much stuff is in this house?
Holy crap.
Yeah. Shut this door here. So, here we
are, guys, in the kitchen. Oh, and
there's power, too. We can turn the
lights on. Did you really?
Yeah. So, I think the
probably unless that one Yeah, there you
go. Yeah. Oh my god. Here you go, guys.
We got lights. We got power. Who's
paying the power for this? Like, it's
been abandoned for like so long. Whoever
owns it. Yeah. You know who owns this? I
I I think it's a company because there's
a company that's making something here.
Say that off camera. Yeah, I won't I
won't divulge that here. But look at
this thing right here.
Anyways, guys, looking good. Lots of
stuff going on here. This
is a skateboard here. There's the
bathroom.
Get my lights on here, guys, so we can
see better. There we go. Lights are
on. That's better. All
right. Head on in. Give a quick What's
up,
guys? He's got power here. He's got
heat. Uh, there should be heat, but
there's no burning running water. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Cuz it's a that's a boiler
right there. I guess he has no water.
Yeah.
Okay, guys. We're in what looks to be
like a like a like a dining room. And we
got a bunch of stuff here that was
possibly going to be sold off to
somebody. All kinds of
stuff. Dishwear and
glasses. Does this work here? Can we
control the temperature? Probably
not. I bet you this doesn't work.
I don't know, guys. I don't know
anything. You all right in there? What'
you do? Did you open the fridge? Oh, no.
You would be see that sausage.
Here's the fireplace here. Here you go.
You could definitely have a good fire in
here. Got some wood, some kindling. Keep
looking here. We got a nice looking nice
looking desk here. We got some good
furniture, too. Oh, yeah. We got lights.
We're going to turn the lights on. Okay.
As we go
through this, there we go. Yeah.
Okay. I believe there are actually also
some nice features that I totally forgot
about last time I was here in in the
floor. Yeah. So, there you got some
features put into the floor, the
hardwood floor.
Got this little doggo right
here. And then we got lots of
uh lots of stuff in here. Let me just
turn the light
on. So the guy who lived here originally
was a musician. He was a drummer. Can't
get that to turn on. He was a drummer.
And there's all kinds of stuff scattered
around the
house that would uh show that the guy
that lives here was a drummer. Okay,
there we go. We got the light on there,
guys. Here we got a box of knickknacks
and photos and stuff left
behind. Don't know why anybody would
leave this stuff behind,
guys. Oh, sorry about that, people.
Didn't mean to do that.
See? Yeah. This is for your
drums. I think this is probably empty.
This is for your symbols. Yeah.
Everything's
gone. Nice furniture though. Eh, here's
another one of these decorative things.
What do you call this, guys? What's that
going to be called? A decorative piece
in the wood of the floor. I don't know
what that would be called because I
don't know anything,
guys. All right, let's move along
here. What's up, guys? Here's a
staircase. Goes up to the first
basement. There's two or sorry, first
upstairs. There's two upstairs in this
house. We'll go up there a little bit
later. And then
here, the hardwood floor in here is a
mess. It's very old as you can see. They
would have had an area rug right
here. But nice room though. Such a nice
house. So, what I can tell you that I
know for sure is that this house was
built in uh the early mid 1800s and was
owned by the same family for several
several several decades and generations.
and they then leased the home to some
tenants who lived here for several
years. And the last tenant to live here
passed away uh in the middle of
2024. Unfortunately, he passed
away. And this property is now part of a
future massive development. And the
house has heritage designation. So, it
cannot be demolished. It can be moved.
uh any additions can be can be taken
down and removed, but anything from the
original home from the 1800s has to
stay. And so once the development on the
property takes off, they have to either
move the house or leave it where it is
and incorporate it somehow into their
plans. All right. All right. I did it,
guys. I opened the freezer. So Oh, it
stinks. Oh, guys. Why did I do that?
Then we got another bedroom here for
someone getting
comfy. Door just closes on its own, it
looks
like. Kitchen kitchen
light. Got some
garbage. Oh, I should not have opened
that fridge. God, that's
gross. Stinks. What was I thinking,
guys? I should know better than that.
This room is pretty
cool. Here we got There's lots of stuff
to see in this room. We've got like
shoes and stereo
equipment. There's like an old record
player right there. There's a fish
tank. And then you've got another stereo
right
there. More stereo equipment. Drug
paraphernalia.
All kinds of stuff, guys. There's lots
going on in this
place. So, there you go. All right. You
seeing it? Let's see what's in these
cupboards
here. Cleaning supplies.
Wheels. All right. Turtle
wax shoes
empties. All right, so let's go. This is
a bathroom right
here. What's up,
guys? What's up, guys? Anything in here?
Oh yeah, we got some stuff in
here. Nice house though. And then I
think this is Oh yeah, this goes
upstairs. Up here. Anyone up
here? Doesn't look like it.
Okay. Sewing machine.
Oh, nobody's here. Okay, that's
good. Definitely some people living in
this over the years, over time, possibly
even as we
speak. Very, very dirty carpet, guys.
Man, how dirty that
is. September 2024.
Look at that ironing
board. Somebody's clothes
here. What's up,
guys? All right, so there's not much to
see on this side here. Just empty rooms
up on this part of the house.
All
right, let's move on
here.
And then there is a laundry room, I
think.
Yeah, look at that leather coat. Hey
Yep. There you go,
guys. Look, we got a cane here. It's
like a pimp cane. Check this out, guys.
Hey, it's like a pimp cane. Oh, there's
there it is. Somebody's doing the
scrapping right
there. Oh, I got an idea. Watch this,
guys.
Got find UBC. Hold on a second, guys.
Need a second
here. Okay, so we got
mistletoe. See? Hey.
No. Get away from
me. He almost did it, guys. He almost
did
it. See
it? Let's see. Is the camera around?
Yeah. Turn the camera around.
Hey, that was on him.
I mean, you got missile to you have to
do it, right? So, okay. Yeah. I see a
staircase here and staircase there.
That's separate. Uh, yes. Yeah. This
goes there's actually three. Yeah. So,
there's this one. There's only a couple
rooms. This one's This one actually goes
up to the other side. So, these are This
one's connected. Yeah. Yeah. This is the
This is the one upstairs. This is the
second upstairs. Okay. I found a pimp.
See that? Oh my god.
Anyways, guys, we got a doll here. Very
creepy doll right here. See
that?
Okay, there's some copper that will be
removed very
shortly. And then this goes upstairs,
but we're going to go up the other side.
And then we're going to come down this
side.
Got some weights. Orbeck's fitness. Hey,
what's
this?
Vaporizer. That's a nice curtain we got
here. Got some wall scars on the wall
where pictures were hanging hanging
hanging. Lots of them. There were lots
of pictures on the walls here.
All right, moving along. That's a pretty
comfy chair right
there. So, we've been through here, been
through the living
room. We've been through the dining
room. Turn the light
on. Okay, there you
go. And
in the
kitchen. Lots of garbage in here.
Yeah.
Okay, guys. UBC and I are going to go do
the basement now.
All right, here we go. Got a lot of
stuff in here. Wow. Umbrellas and
lights. Helmets and
cords. Beer.
Beer. Yeah, but it's not real beer,
though. It's just just a bottle of beer.
Groch.
There's only one way up and down the
basement. Yeah. Yeah. Here you
go.
Okay. It's going to be
dark. It's going to be dark down
here. And there's a there's a step
missing. So, watch your step at the
bottom there. Oh, well.
Tires, boxes, and
carpets. It smells down here. It does.
Probably. We got some uh patio lights
here. Whatever the heck you call those
torches.
So, when I was here the other day, UBC,
this right here was all copper,
but it goes It goes far. I know. I know.
There's a whole bunch of pile of copper
right here.
Yeah, that's probably I when we saw the
the dragging dragging. Yeah. Yeah.
So, we've seen
drag from a wheel. That's pretty cool
right there. That old washing machine.
Wow. That's cool. Let's go see that.
Check this out. That's an old washing
machine.
Wow.
Oh, that's a cool picture. And these
really old
windows. Turn the light
on. No, that won't turn
on. Guy should start returning some
empties. I got it to live in here. Make
some money off the empties,
too. That's a cool light fixture. Wow.
We got a kiddie pool.
It's like a huge water tank. This is how
they feed the water to the house. Must
be. Yeah.
Yeah. There's a well. So, okay. Yeah.
From the well or like rain water. Yeah.
In the jugs or something. Yeah.
Pretty cool.
Oh. He's like a well pump. Oh, yeah. Is
that what that says? Yeah. There you go.
Yeah. So, this guy's got Well, he could
use water, too. He's got electricity.
Yeah, he could pull water if he wanted
to, the guy. But I don't think there's
any more copper to pull the water
through. Yeah, exactly.
Okay,
guys. There's a lot of boxes and
stuff down
here. Tires and wheels.
So, I hope anyone who finds his house
doesn't destroy this stuff. Yeah, that's
nice. Cuz if they ever did wanted to
restore this house, they have You got
the original windows. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I hope big huge windows. Yeah. This that
would be nice. I really hope people
don't come here and trash this. You know
what else would be nice though? This
picture in your living room would be
super nice. No.
Okay guys, we're going to head on
upstairs now. We're going to go to the
other staircase this
way. Back through here through the
ceiling fan.
That's a nice door, though. Hey, look at
that
door. Looking at the features and the
details.
Wow. All right, here we go,
guys. There's another door here. There's
so many doors to this
house. Okay, here we
go. A bunch of records
here. See that? All these old 60s and
70s
albums. Rusty Warren. Bottoms up.
Check out all the clothes left behind in
here. It's a nice shirts, guys.
Wow. Why does this guy sound familiar?
Who is Jerry? He's like your favorite. I
can't I know he's His name is famous,
but who is he? I have no idea. I got no
idea. Here's a brand new drum head right
here. Some more of those old school
weights. Maybe this was his jamming room
where he had his drum set set up. You
got a bass drum
there. The front of the bass drum.
Whole bunch of cassette tapes, too. Look
at that.
So much stuff. His old cell phone.
Just a lot of random junk just laying
around here.
Eh, what you got here? Shirts, coat,
coats. Get back there. No, it's just a
bunch of clothes back
there. Oh, that's that dude's bag. We'll
leave that
there. All
right. Who's that?
Bunch of water
bottles and
stuff.
Iron. All right, moving on.
Here we got Look at that. We got a bunch
of tennis rackets.
We got a wheelchair. Got a wheelchair,
guys. It's a nice comfy room to hang out
in.
That this fault. Defend yourself. This
the stick with the
sticky. Here's grandma.
right
there. What have we got here?
UBC. What's
this? Gary Hatton
Hatton Cincinnati
Reds. Okay, so now we're outside. Get a
good look at the rest of the house here.
really old house layout. A lot of cool
stuff just sort of stacked and piled
around in the yard. We'll go check that
out in a minute. We're going to go over
and see what's in these buildings over
here first. We got a barn. We got a
storage thing
here. Let's go see what's going on here,
guys. Is this open from this side?
Doesn't look like it this. Oh, yeah. All
right.
What? Hold on a
second. Look at all this stuff in
here. What the heck? We got
pictures. This is
huge. Who's this
guy? Who the heck is this guy, guys?
There's all kinds of stuff in here. UBC
Lambor Lamborghini or Ferrari? No,
nothing like that. Dang it.
We got hockey sticks. We got pictures,
bed frames.
Yeah. Sidewalk chalk. We can go make
some make some art on the sidewalk.
Yeah, we got speakers on the property.
Look at that. We'll put that in your
car. This here. Oh, that would sound
amazing.
That is SSX.
Wow. I don't know. You got some weights
in here. Oh, you see the weights in the
other room? Yeah, I did. I was waiting
for you to do it. Herbex fitness. I'll
do it.
[Laughter]
There's a big mirror right there. Lots
of stuff stored in here. I bet you
anything that was good in here has been
stolen, though. Yeah. Yeah.
This is an original radio for something.
Yeah.
All right, that was pretty cool. And we
got a hammer
here. And then we got a barn back here,
guys. What's in the
barn? Ministry of Government Service. No
trespassing.
Well, it's like a chicken coop or
something. And then you got you got got
a little trail that goes back
there. Look at there's lights back here.
What's going on back here, guys? Wow.
There's a path. Look, there's a path
that goes straight. There's a path that
goes that way. This is a huge piece of
property, guys.
We got a little We got a little Garfield
right here hanging. You see him? Look at
that old Garfield right
there. And then you got Christmas
lights right here hanging off the tree.
You got a trail right there.
Yeah. Yeah.
Huh?
What is this? Is that like a squid or
something? It's a chicken coop, guys.
Stinks. Here he goes.
I'm surprised the guy living in the
house hasn't brought all the empties
back yet. There's so many cans and
bottles laying around. Bring it back if
those bikes beside the house are his
transportation gear. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Unless he puts it in a backpack.
Uh-huh. He probably can do enough, but
it probably wouldn't be Well, probably
still worth his time, but I found his
backpack in one of the closets filled
with copper. No, it's not. Yeah. Oh, in
the room with the TV upstairs has a
backpack in the closet and it's got like
a ton of copper in it.
So, he is stealing copper. Oh, 100%.
Yeah.
Yeah. Okay, let's check out the art.
There's some art installations in the
back
here. Go see. Here we go. We got piles
of stuff everywhere. So, we'll start
with this pile right here.
And we got a
tire. And we got some
pots and a whole bunch of water
bottles right there. More
empties. Telling you guys, the dude
who's living here could make a killing
just off of returning the empties. He's
probably going to come out here and cut
the wire out of these if I were him.
That's what I would do, too.
Let's go over here. There's more over
here. Some more
empties right there. Lots more
empties. Cans and
bottles. Lots of money, guys, for the
guy that's living here that he can make.
Remember these these old uh I think they
were Molson Canadian kegs and they all
had like a different like team logo.
They had a Don Cherry one that had like
a plaid suit. Look at this
guy. Then over here is where there's all
the good stuff. There's all kinds of
stuff going on back here. And I think
some somebody who once lived here was
definitely some kind of an
artist. I'll show you why I think that
in a minute. This is just a pile of
stuff. But here here you've got a
basketball
net attached to a piece of wood with a
light wrapped around it. Okay. And then
we come over
here and we
have we have a bar stool, two bar stools
and a table. And then you have a light
fixture plugged in hanging from the top
of the tree. And then here you have
your extension cord running to the house
so that you can sit here under your
light at your table with a light on.
Yeah. Do it together. Get in the middle
one. Yeah.
Yeah. That one better.
Try not to hit him in the nose this
time.
[Laughter]
Here's somebody's leg
brace
connected connected to the tree. See
this? So, this is this is artwork. UBC.
This is art. This is a leg brace
connected to a tree. Somebody that lived
here was an artist. You see that where
you're looking at right there with the
light fixture hanging from the tree?
Yeah. Yeah, that's
art. There's so much
wood. Look at this big field back
here. Oh, there's a drum. There's one of
his drums. It's a drummer. It's a bass
drum right here. Yeah. Right there. It's
a big bass drum. Did you see the drums
inside? Yeah, I did. That one's drums
when I seen though, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
It's
very Yeah.
Constructed around 1890, this
1.5story red brick farmhouse was
designed in a vernacular Gothic revival
style, complete with a steeply pitched
front gable roof and a symmetrical
facade. This architectural style was
common for rural Ontario homes in the
late 19th century. Appreciated for its
blend of elegance and practicality. Over
generations, the house remained a symbol
of rural resilience. Despite various
modifications and additions, much of its
original craftsmanship survived well
into the 21st century, even as the world
outside shifted dramatically from
farmland to modern suburbia. Today, the
property lies within the boundaries of a
large redevelopment area slated to
become a mixeduse community blending
residential and commercial elements. The
farmhouse itself has been designated
under part 4 of the Ontario Heritage
Act, formally recognizing its cultural
heritage value. This designation helps
ensure that key elements of the home's
architecture and history are preserved
even as the surrounding landscape
undergoes dramatic transformation.
