How's it going everybody? I'm Nikki Delventhal and this is my dog Camper Delventhal.
We lived in a Prius full-time for three years but now we're in a 4x4 Sprinter
and we're here to take you along on the wild ride. So fasten up your seat belts and let's
have some fun. Don't forget if you like what you see, like, subscribe, comment,
share with your friends, and turn on notifications. Camper and I would be so thankful.
On last week's episode, Camper, Sarah, and I make our way to Idaho.
We stop at one of my favorite wild hot springs and restaurants for pizza.
The next morning we got a super early start as we had a 12-mile hike ahead of us. It was a tough
one but there's nothing like a polar plunge and sandwich at the end of your hike to make it all
worth it. Hi there, Camper. Big stretch. You ready for the day, mister? You ready for the day, Sarah?
Definitely. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. So last night we ended up staying at this
beautiful campsite on the river. We usually opt for wild camping but this time we didn't because
all the spots that we went to last night were completely overrun and we started to get kind of
tired. So campground it was, which is a good thing because we have a ton to do today starting with
throwing out our trash. You guys ready for an errands day? Yep. It's not the most exciting day
but it's a day and it has to happen, so let's hit it.
Brushing, brushing, stirring it up just right.
Brushing, brushing, look at my pearly whites.
It's bear proof. It's tough. It's bear proof and it's Sarah proof.
That was a tough one. Let's go. Ready for a morning hot soak? Yes, I am.
Uh-oh, we're in the road. Smells like rotten eggs. All right, you guys, this morning we are checking out
some sulfur springs right on the riverside. You ready for our own private hot springs? Yes.
Well, kind of private. We got some fishermen in the background.
This is cold. This is lukewarm. Oh, that's hot.
It's burning. We could probably let more river water in though. I'm just damming up the river
water here a little bit. More river flow means it won't be as hot, so we're gonna do that.
I think I'm ready to work and do errands. Yeah. All right, you guys, so not every day in van life is super
exciting, but at least you can do work and do errands in beautiful places and start your day
like this, so we're taking you along on a more average day in the van life. That was incredible.
What a start to the day. I'm not ready to work. I wish life could be a vacation.
Hello? Hi, my name is Sarah Berkowitz and I'm 24 years old. Oh, no, no, no. Okay, wait. Sorry, no question.
Okay, I'm back. Excuse me, mister. All right, you guys, we are going to a coffee shop to the
nearest town now. I could really use some coffee, but also we are gonna work there. I do have
satellite internet on my van and a 5G hotspot and my phone hotspot, but sometimes it's nice to just
Cheers. Thanks for warming up my egg. Here's your egg.
It's actually amazing. Cheers. All right, you guys, it's a Saturday, but we
still have a few hours of work, so we're gonna get that done and we'll fast forward to then.
A big thank you to Rosetta Stone for partnering with us today, but also for making such an
intuitive and immersive language program. My entire family is fluent in Spanish and
apparently so is Camper. Arriba. Siéntate. Abajo. Muy bien. I've also traveled to so many
different Spanish-speaking countries, so learning Spanish has really been a passion of mine. Rosetta
Stone has become a big part of my learning journey as they take the immersive approach,
so this has helped me with native speakers, but also practicing with my family. This helps me
learn faster and retain more of the language as they pick a plan that's specifically made to fit
my pace. They also have a voice recognition tool that helps you perfect your accent.
It fits any schedule with lessons as short as 10 minutes, and it's 100%
on the go. With tools like their audio companion, I can do my lessons whenever and wherever I am,
and you can even get 50% off on a lifetime subscription, where you'll get access to
all their languages forever without having to worry about renewal fees. Check them out below.
All right.
Oh, this reminds me. We actually have to pick up some groceries real quick.
You want to make a quick stop? Is this the only grocery store in the town?
Literally the only one. Wow. The next one's maybe 100 miles.
All right, Camp, don't worry. We're gonna get you some good stuff, too.
All right, let's hope they have your beloved applesauce. They will, or else I'm suing.
All right, we're fully stocked. Camper, look what we got you. Seriously?
Okay, now we're going to the lake.
We are here, but it is a busy day at the lake. The entire parking lot is full.
Well, that was an adventure, just finding parking. Who would have thought?
Sarah B., you want a little snack before we hit the beach?
Definitely. Cheers. Cheers. Anytime. I'm so excited. How is it? Well, the beans are good.
That's all I tried so far. I was like, I don't like my salad.
All right, now we're ready to hit the beach. Throw on our suits and get in that clear water.
Now this looks like a good spot right here. All right, we are going straight in.
This is the life. One, two, three.
On a scale of one to 10, how do you feel? 10. Yeah, this is amazing. Yeah, it's very nice.
Look at this water. Crystal clear. Look at the happy boy over there.
Should I go get him? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, camper, I'm coming.
All right, come on out, mister. He'll love the water one day. Let's go this way.
You want to do it? I got him. Good boy, camper. Good boy. Camper, you did it all by yourself.
Good job. Ladies and gentlemen, we got a swimmer. You want to take a child for a ride?
I'm lost at sea. There has been no sign of human life. Hopefully, I can make it back.
What a perfect day. All right, before we find a place to sleep, we need to find a place to
fill up water because we're running dangerously low, and maybe while we're there, a coin shower.
Excuse me, I'm coming. Are you going to drive? We only have 11% tank left,
so we got here perfect timing. Let's fill her up. I'm aware that says gas. I just think it's
kind of funny. Camper, excuse me. Laundry and showers. All right, let's get some change first.
Love the sound of change. Here you go, Sarah. Thank you. Let's go. Look at that dog staring
right at camper. Camper's not even giving him the time of day. We'll just let them have their
little romance. He's playing hard to get while we shower. So I decided to pay it forward for
the next person because I remember being in this exact room three years ago before I had YouTube
and I was living in a Prius. It was my first year and I was legit worried about paying for a $2
shower, so I just hope no one else has to feel that way, so maybe that'll help out the next person
because I know three years ago I would have been ecstatic. Well, I use the back of my shirt as a
towel because then when I flip it, there's a few less spots. Welcome to van life, Sarah.
She had a dirty towel. It happens to me all the time. Sometimes I go on to Planet Fitness
and forget a towel and end up using my dirty shirt as a towel. All right, and now it is time
to find a place to go camp for the night. Still looking forward, playing hard to get.
All right, it's dinner time, freaks. Good boy. Can you guys guess what we're having for dinner
tonight? Salads. You're having salads again and again and again. You guys are so predictable.
This looks magnificent. You look magnificent. Wow, you hear that? That's not a cricket.
That's a Maxxair fan. Yeah, I've been listening to this for six days and you haven't done.
All right, one, two, three.
I thought you were going to land right on me. I planned on it, and then I felt bad.
Camper? Do you think we can have some of the bed, please?
Okay, thanks. If I don't open my eyes, they can't make me move. Good night, everybody.
Good morning, camper. You want to have some breakfast and go on a hike today, mister?
Yeah? All right, let's go. All right, you guys, we've got three hours before it
is over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, so we're going to hurry up and have some coffee and go on a hike.
Collagen, protein, oil. Oh, that was another chunk. Bon appetit. My new collection of bucket hats.
Today's outfit check, we're going with local park ranger. To the trail, Sarah. Don't forget
the door behind you. Good morning, everyone. Today, we are doing a gorgeous hike to an alpine
lake. It's about five miles round trip, and I cannot wait to show it to you, but also because
this hike holds a little bit of sentimental value because it's one of the first places I came
four years ago when I first moved into my car, so I'm excited to show it to you.
You're cooling off on the snow? Feels really good. All right, we're checking this out to see
if this is the trail because it looks like it ended. Okay. All right, I think this is the trail.
So we are truly going on an adventure right now because
the trail split and someone didn't download a map.
I came down to help you. Instead of making it to the lake, I jumped in the river.
All right, you guys, here we are, just right around this corner.
Just kidding. We took a wrong turn and ended up eight miles later just accepting defeat and saying,
you know what? It's going to be really, really hot today. Let's just go back and have a bomb
breakfast and try again tomorrow. Thanks for being here. We love you all. We'll see you next week.
Bye.
