Hi guys, welcome back to Kids Gospel TV.
Today we're going to hear a story from the Bible
about what happens when we hide our sins and don't listen to God.
Let's learn from a man named Achon and a little town called Ai.
God helped Joshua and the Israelites win a big battle at a place called Jericho.
God told them,
When you win, do not take anything for yourselves.
The gold, silver, and treasures belong to me.
The people said,
Yes, God, we will obey.
But one man did not obey.
His name was Achon.
Achon saw something shiny, a beautiful robe, some silver and gold.
He thought, I really want this.
No one will know.
So he took the things and hid them under his tent.
He thought it was a secret.
After Jericho, Joshua sent some men to fight the next city called Ai.
But something strange happened.
The Israelites lost the battle.
Some men died, and everyone was very afraid.
Joshua fell on his face and prayed,
God, why did we lose?
What happened?
And God said,
Someone has sinned.
Someone took things that were mine.
That is why you lost.
So Joshua called all the tribes.
God showed him where the sin was.
They found Achon.
Joshua asked him,
Tell the truth. What did you do?
Achon said,
I'm sorry.
I saw the robe, silver, and gold.
I took them and hid them.
The people found the things under Achon's tent, just like he said.
Because Achon disobeyed God, he and his family had to be punished.
After that, the Israelites obeyed God again, and God helped them win the next battle.
Friends, even when no one sees us, God sees everything.
Hiding our sin doesn't make it go away.
It's always better to be honest, say sorry, and obey God.
Let's always do what is right, even when it's hard.
Thanks for watching, friends.
