Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets Full Game 1 Highlights - April 20, 2025 | NBA Playoffs

...play fast, especially in this building. Green, Shang-Goon! Oh, no! And it's Fred Zan's leap for three! Against Houston, Brooks is watching Brooks. Uh, Brooks is watching Butler, who kicks it back to Pudzemski. Here's a three, and it's down. And Golden State has started two of nine. Four of nine for the Rockets on their start. Shang-Goon, 15-footer. Rockets have got the ball. Amen Thompson the other way. Starting the second half of the season and thriving. Oh, with a little crossover. And here's Shang-Goon. Here come the Golden State Warriors who beat Memphis Tuesday in the play-in game by five in that 7-8 matchup. Into Butler, great feed from Payton. He might sway this team as much as any player on the team. And he's a big-time shot-maker on top of that. Curry inside, scoops it home for two. Here comes the dynamic Jalen Green. And they got their best perimeter defender on them, and that is Gary Payton. Green swerves inside. Caught it! What a play! What a move. Warriors are five of 15 to start. So Green is on Curry. Van Cleef, oh, it's a steal. It's picked up by Eason. And Golden State the other way. Curry number three in three-point shots made this season. He'll drive in for two here. They make it a three-point game. Doing a good job of running Curry off that three-point line, but again, what's underrated in his game is his ability to finish. Jabari Smith. But in the previous 11, he was averaging 14 again. And Curry sees an open lane. He'll scoop it up and put it in. Two straight drives. Curry with the penetration. Rockets with the ball. Three-point lead. Changun on top. Post in the way. Tops a little shake-and-bake as he takes it in. And throws it away as he lost his balance. And here comes Jimmy Butler. Podjemski. Three. Book it! Again, creating offense from your defense. Backpedal and spin and gyrate and kick. It's Van Vliet on the wing. He's a crafty player, but he's rugged too. One of the strongest on the team. Three! Jimmy Butler. Now Buddy Heald. He'll dance and he'll fire over Smith. And a two is down! Nice shot by Heald. The Golden State Warriors on a 16-3 run. It's Green and Thompson on him. Cutting Curry. In! What a pass! Timeout, Houston! It's Changun on top and they got Butler on him. Good move by Van Vliet. Right there on the switch is Butler. And Changun will sneak inside for two. He's got a rocket for an arm and he's the whole future for the Texans. Van Vliet. Changun inside. Got it on the doorstep. Fred Van Vliet told me similarly that he never takes a day off. And he says, listen, Dylan knows that he has let his emotions get the best of him in the past, specifically against the Warriors. Good stuff, Valley. Curry, 4-4 from two. Owen, three from three. Inside, Changun and DeLuna. Van Vliet. That's a drive. Curry with the rebound. Partner, look at the score. I know. These are the playoffs. This is amazing. Two minutes left here. Curry, three! Got it! And gets his first three here of the evening. It's Pudzemski. Six points from him. Curry, three. Oh! Oh, man. Oh, he hit that from way outside. When you're leading score, three single-digit games. He's a brilliant young player, though. Here's Green. After the miss, he got the feed and he finishes off with two. He knows all about this rivalry with the Warriors from his time with Memphis. Van Vliet is on Butler. He gets it inside to Curry. Nifty move. Rebound. But Changun is out to Green. The three won't go. Another offensive rebound. He slams inside and Thompson will finish off high. Now Thompson has the primary defense on Butler. A series of fakes. And he gets the sweet mid-range shot to fall with some beautiful footwork. Van Vliet fighting through it. And Butler's got it. Thompson picks up Butler. It's a three. Butler, book it! Jimmy Butler! Andy will drive. Changun will defend. Curry's got it. He and Butler, as I said, 18 apiece. He'll dance. He'll throw up a shot. Oh, my goodness! Are you kidding me? Geometrically, that should not have happened! Wow! What a shot! First it was Butler. Now Stephen Curry. The degree of difficulty on that three. Up and in with a nice move inside. With a good block right there. Moody got a hand on it. But it's retaken. And Eason will pick it up. Sliding for two. After the steal by Houston. Payton's on Green. Shot clock at four. Green is on Changun. Curry down low. Payton. Along with Moody out there for the Warriors. And a nice shot. It's a two. And it goes down from outside. It's picked up inside. Raises the rim. It's picked up there by Adams. Another offensive rebound. He is absolutely dominating on the offensive glass. Van Vliet caught it to the hole. It's a long three by Van Vliet. And it's a rebound by Eason. It's tapped away by Heal. Here he goes. High for Butler. Locked away by Eason. He slots it away. Nice defensive play. He's playing handball. He has been a machine. Clinging the glass tonight for Houston. Driving is Smith. Hold the runner on. In this game, 18-3 Houston. Changun. Piles driving his way. Changun. And Adams. Post to Curry. Thompson comes out on Curry. Three. Bullseye! No way. I mean, that's twice. Shot clock running down. A big... No one's ever done it at the guard position scoring like Curry at this age. But that time it was spotted away as he took it in with a shimmy. Thompson. And Adams. Oh! He'll throw down a hammer. Thompson swerves by Curry. Inside it goes. Curry gets the ball. Ahead it goes. Peyton on the release. And he comes in hot and high. Because of the three-point shooting and they're able to make free throws. Starting five is out there right now for Golden State. Ahmed Thompson sworn. Smith a three. To Curry! Smith! Cams a triple! Thompson will be defended by Curry. 19 points into traffic. Pajemski will drive. Jab. Feed. Moody to Booker. What a way to get your first field goal. It's a Curry three. Ring it up! Curry with a triple! He's having wars over here. Slithers and feeds. Moody. Three. Rebound. Pajemski. Rebound. Green! Shot clock at seven. Ahmed Thompson in the curry. Now green. Now kicks. Then a three! Finally. He had been struggling. One of ten up to that point. It's Curry around Thompson. Over to Pajemski. Corner. Three. Moody. Call! There's the answer. They want to get Shang-Goon here. Houston has a foul to give. Curry will scoop it off. Butler is there! And up and all down it goes! Rocket shooting 38 percent. Shang-Goon will defend Butler. Shot clock is down to two. Butler will can it! Not one, but two closers on the same team. Your turn. My turn. Seven up in Golden State. Ron Green will conclude the shot as he contorts to get it up and in. And the lead is 11. Another turnover. Butler the other way. And that puts an exclamation mark on this Golden State win in game one. And the Golden State Warriors are going to win it by ten in game one over the Houston Rockets.
