Once there was a man. He was very upset with his life. Since childhood, his life had been
full of problems. His father had passed away when he was very young. After that, he had to take care
of his mother and younger siblings. All the responsibilities of the home fell on him at a
very early age. As he grew older, he got married. He thought things would get better, but life
did not get easier. In fact, his problems only increased. Whenever one problem ended,
a new one would start. He felt like there was no peace in his life. One day, tired and frustrated,
the man went to a wise monk and said, Sir, I want to renounce the world and become your student.
I am very tired of the never-ending problems in my life. I want peace.
The monk agreed and said, Okay, you can be my student, but first tell me what's bothering you.
The man said, Master, my life is full of problems. Sometimes it is a financial issue.
Sometimes problems with my wife. Sometimes things go wrong at work. And other times,
it is something else. One problem after another. I never find success. I am always struggling,
always sad, and worried. The monk listened patiently and said, Okay, stay with me in my
cottage for now. The next morning, the monk said to the man, Let us go. We are going to another
village. Both of them set off on their journey. Along the way, they came across a river.
They stood there and watched the river for a while. Then the monk said, We have to cross the
river. But the water is flowing. The man nodded. They kept standing there for some time. Then the
man asked, Master, you said we have to cross the river. So why are we just standing here?
The monk replied, We are waiting for the river to dry up. When it dries, we will cross it.
Saying that, the monk became silent. The man was surprised. He said, But master,
how is that possible? The river won't dry up on its own. It will keep flowing. If we wait for it
to dry, we will be stuck here forever. We should try to cross it even if it is hard.
The monk smiled and said, Exactly. That is what I wanted you to understand.
Life is like this river, and the problems in life are like the flowing water. They will always be
there. If you keep waiting for your problems to disappear, you will never move forward.
You have to face them and try to overcome them, even if it is difficult. Only then
you can reach the other side. Then he looked at the man and said, My friend, running away
from the world won't solve all of your problems. That is like waiting for the river to dry.
Even after renouncing the world, some other kind of problems will still be there. So go back home.
Don't give up because of difficulties. Face them and solve them. And that's the only way
to move ahead in life. The man understood the monk's message. That one lesson changed his way
of thinking. From that day on, he stopped waiting for a perfect life and started moving forward,
facing life's challenges with courage. And slowly things started getting better.
The story tells us something very important. Problems are part of everyone's life.
No one has a life without struggles. Some people have money problems. Some have family issues.
Some have health worries. And some are just fighting battles inside their minds.
Life is not easy for everyone. We often think once this problem is solved, life will be peaceful.
But the truth is, when one problem ends, another one pops up. If we keep waiting
for a time when everything is perfect, we will just waste our whole life waiting.
It is like standing at the river, waiting for it to dry up. It will never happen.
That's why we need to move ahead while facing our problems. We can't run away or give up.
We have to deal with each problem. And that's how we grow. And that's how life moves forward.
Problems may look like hurdles, but they are actually steps that take us closer to success.
Every challenge makes us stronger and teaches us something new. So instead of fearing problems,
we should learn to face them. Success and peace don't come when life is easy.
They come when we keep going, even when life is hard.
So don't stop. Don't wait. Just keep moving. And ultimately, you will get through.
