hiii friends, so again...lol...this was filmed about a month ago but lets chat and do makeup anyway 🩷 let me know if you want an update on any products!
Hello. Hello. Welcome back. Today I
thought we could do another get ready
with me. The first upload that I did. It
was filmed a few months ago, so lots has
actually changed since then. Anyway,
let's start with some primer. I'm going
in with the NYX face glue. I'm still
gathering my thoughts. I don't do my
makeup wa I just took the whole lid off.
I don't do my makeup as much these days
because I'm not going to work every day.
Um, so it takes me a little bit longer
to gather my thoughts on new makeup, but
so far this has a really beautiful
lightweight texture. I'm not sure how it
goes with longevity. It says it is a
gripping primer, but it feels really
nice on the skin and sits well under
foundation. I'll chat a little bit about
makeup today, but I do want to get
through a lot of catchups. Okay, so I
will list all the makeup that I use in
the description box below. I'll try and
link as much as I can as well. It's all
linked through LTK, so they are
affiliate links. It'll take you to like
the Price Line or the Sephora website.
And if you shop through those links, I
do earn a commission. So, thank you in
advance if you use those. Okay, I know I
just said I'm not going to talk about
the makeup, but for foundation, I'm
going in with the Maybelline SuperStay
look. I think this is a little bit too
matte for my skin, but I'm really oily
at the moment because it's that time of
the month. So, I thought maybe this will
be a good foundation and I really want
some coverage because again that time of
the month she's breaking out. So, I am
going back to work in 2
weeks. Oh, I've been so lucky to have 2
years off. Like I actually can't believe
it. I am a casual at my work as well. So
the fact that I've been able to have two
years off and keep my position is just
insane. I am only going back 2 days a
week, which I think that's seriously all
I can handle. Like shout out to the moms
who work full-time. Like I hated working
full-time when I wasn't a mom, let alone
having all the bloody
added to-dos and mental load of freaking
kids. Holy
moly. Absolute superheroes, I tell you.
I'm kind of looking forward to going
back for the fact that I can get
dressed. Oh my god, that bird just
scared the absolutely daylights out of
me.
Um, yeah. So, the fact that I can get
dressed nicely, do my makeup, you know,
eat my lunch on my own at work, not be
interrupted. My boss did leave while I
was away on maternity leave, though, so
I'm really sad about that. I haven't
actually met my new boss, but so far,
she's been so lovely and accommodating
every time I call up and, you know, ask
for more time off. This is the Revlon
Illuminance Concealer. This whole range
is beautiful. Like all the products I've
tried so far, the glow filter, the skin
tint. This is actually a new one.
Stunning. Um, also, what did I try
recently? The glow primer. That is
beautiful as well. So, going back to
work means Amelia needs to be in
daycare. So, she did start maybe 4 weeks
ago now, just 2 days a week. far out.
That was a mission. And I'm pretty sure
I talked about it in my first video, how
I just
procrastinated that so much. I just
didn't want to do it. But I found one
that I liked. And look, she's going. The
days she has good days while she's
there, but the drop offs and the pickups
are just so sad. Like, she cries and
screams for me. Oh, it's just the worst
feeling having to walk out. But the
educators are really, really
accommodating to her. And as soon as we
walk in, they come over and are ready to
take her and give her big cuddles. And
when they upload photos throughout the
day, I can always see Amelia like
sitting on the educator's laps. I just
had to do my brows without talking
because they are so uneven at the
moment. It's just they're a lot. I'm
getting them done next week. So, let's
just ignore those. For eyeshadow, I'm
going to use the Aralus Dream of Me
palette. If you haven't tried these
Australas shadows
yet, what are you doing? Okay, they're
so good. Creamy, pigmented. The
metallics are so shimmery. I'm going to
go in with
this brown. Thrilling. So, yeah. I think
it'll take a second to find our feet.
The daycare days are going to be really
big days. And already when I pick her up
from daycare, she's just like not in the
mood. The afternoons are so
freaking they're stressful. They're a
lot. So, okay. I do have a lot of Amelia
updates, which I don't know if all of
you guys are interested in, but I also
have just some life updates after all
this. So, you know, whatever you want to
listen to, skip forward if you want,
whatever. So, in my last video, which,
like I said, I filmed months ago, there
was so much on my to-do list. I wanted
to get Amelia in her own bed cuz we'd
been co-sleeping forever. I wanted to
stop breastfeeding. I needed to get her
into daycare. Like, there were all these
transitions that needed to be made and
it was very, very overwhelming. So, I
just want to talk about how we went
about doing all of those because now
that I look back, I'm like, look at this
go. What was I worried about? So, we end
up starting with getting her in her own
bed. She was never a cot baby. Hated
being put down. She was a contact napper
and a co-sleeper. So, we got rid of her
rid of her
cot pretty quickly, which actually funny
story. All right, so I bought a floor
bed off marketplace and I was like,
Clinton, can you go pick it up after
work cuz he's got a work
van. He wears a high viz shirt and yeah,
he's in a work van. So, he's driving
there and he sees this lady at the front
waving him down. And so he's like, "All
right, sweet." Backs in the driveway. By
the time he gets out the car, the lady's
gone. So he's like, "Okay." So he goes
and knocks on the door and the old man
answers. He's like, "Hey, mate. How you
doing? Come on in." So Clinton takes his
boots off, goes inside, and in his head
he's thinking, "That's weird. Like why
do these old people like why are they
selling a toddler bed, but okay,
whatever. Maybe it's like their
grandkids." So he goes in the house,
he's patting the guy's dog like they're
becoming mates. And then the old fellow
leads him down the back of the house and
shows him this like aircon panel on the
wall. He's like, "Yeah, mate. So, just
here's where the problem is. I can't get
these buttons to work." Ra. And
Clinton's like, "What?" He's I'm here to
pick up a bed. And the guy's like,
"What? We're waiting on an electrician."
And Clinton's like, "That's not me."
He's like, "Is this number whatever?"
And the guy's like, "No." So, he had
gone into the wrong house. And it is
just the biggest coincidence that the
literal neighbors were waiting for an
electrician. They saw a van. They saw a
guy in a high viz and thought this is
him. Come on in. So Clinton had to drive
out of that driveway back into the next
one. So anyway, we get this floor bed
for her and just spend a few weeks like,
you know, playing on it, getting her
excited about the big bed. And then
eventually we start doing naps in there.
So, she's on one nap a day. We start
trying to do her naps in there and then
we move on to the nights. So, I was
still breastfeeding her at this point.
So, I would just feed her to sleep and
then roll out of the bed and she would
sleep in there. She would still wake up
maybe two or three times a night.
Sometimes I would just end up staying in
there. Um, but yeah, that's how we kind
of got her into her own bed and got her
comfortable with her own bed. Next was
to stop breastfeeding. So, I was really
in two minds about this. Like, I was
feeling really touched out, especially
in the night. Like, oh, it was just
getting too much waking up all the time
and just having her like using my nipple
as a freaking dummy. And then during the
day, we cut back a little bit, but then
she's just on and off. I've always just
fed on demand, so I'm like, "Whatever.
If you want it, here you go." But I
think she was feeding a bit too much.
She wasn't eating that much food. Like
she was still gaining weight and stuff,
but whatever. I was like, "Look, I think
it's time to stop. We've got big
transitions coming up. Let's just work
on these." Anyway, so I bought a few
books. We started with nurses in the
morning or milkies in the morning or
something like that. And so we started
with night weaning. So, we read this
book for ages saying that like, you
know, no milk in the nighttime, mommy
goes to sleep, baby goes to sleep, daddy
goes to sleep, milkies goes to sleep,
but when you wake up, you have milkies.
So, we did that for a few weeks and then
I swapped to a different book called My
Milk Will Go, Our Love Will Grow. And
the first time I read it, I was just an
absolute mess. So, started reading that
to her for a little bit and then
eventually got to the point where I was
like, "All right, baby." like Milky's is
all done. Mommy can't make milk anymore
and just like kept kind of saying the
same things that were in the book. And
so we had our last feed and Clinton put
her to bed that night. She she fussed
for a little bit but eventually went
down and then for the first time in her
whole life she slept through the entire
night. Excuse me. So to get you to sleep
through the entire night, all I had to
do was stop feeding
you. So for a few days, she was a little
bit upset that she couldn't have milk,
but you know, she got used to it. I
tried to distract her a lot. Like even
the day before we stopped feeding, we
made some muffins and we called them her
morning muffins so that when she woke up
like, "Oh my goodness, it's time for a
morning muffin." You know, instead of
milkies. So just kind of like ging her
up and getting her excited about
different things. And then for a while,
she stopped doing it now, but she would
go, "Just pretend." And then she'd like
come over to my chest and
go
like, "So, we end up feeding for 20
months and 23 days. I am so proud of
that. Like, I just can't believe our
journey went for that long. It was so
beautiful. Like, it makes me cry. I
loved breastfeeding. like it was, you
know, it had its challenges in the
beginning and then there were definitely
times throughout where I was like, I am
touched out, but
overall it was just amazing. I love that
bond with her and being able to have
that connection and yeah, it was just I
really really enjoyed it and I'm very
very grateful that we got to have that
journey because you just don't know
what's going to happen when you try and
breastfeed. You don't know. So, we've
checked two things off our list. She's
in her own bed. She's stopped feeding.
And bonus, she slept through the night.
Clinton ended up putting her to bed for
a few nights so that she wouldn't want
the boob. And she literally slept
through every single night. I was like,
"This is magical." So then when I
started to put her to bed again, she'd
still wake up like once, but once is
also a miracle. So then we get to
daycare. Toured a few. Finally found one
that I liked. Went and did a few stay
and plays. But once I started to do the
stay in place like and she was already
like in the enrollment process but we
were waiting like for the new year to
come and then there was renovation. So
rah rah it took a little bit to actually
get her like to start and so we were
doing stay and plays kind of during this
crazy time for them and then I just
started having really like big doubts
about the center that I chose and oh I
was just in two minds. I was like, "How
do I know I've made the right decision?
Like, it's too late, though. Like, she
starts in a few weeks. Like, she's got
to she's got to go. We've done the stay
in place now. Like, I don't want to
start again with like her meeting new
people." And so, anyway, just went with
it. You know, I thought I can always
take her out if I don't like it. We're
here now. Let's give it a go. We'll see
what happens. So, as I said, she's been
there
for a few weeks now, and I'm totally
fine with it. I think I was just, yeah,
having big doubts and just was freaking
out a bit. But seeing how the educators
are with her, and how they comfort her
and give her what she needs when she is
upset and
emotional makes me feel better because
that's how I respond to her being upset,
too. Oh, actually before she started
daycare 2, we did read some books about
daycare. Amelia really responds well
to stories and I don't know relating
them to what's going on around her, I
guess. So, I borrowed a few from the
library just like Spot Goes to Daycare
and like a Maisy book. But then I also
bought this one off Amazon called Llama
Llama Mrs. llama and it's yeah about a
llama that goes to daycare and it talks
like llama's sad and he feels lonely but
you know the friends want to play and
the teacher will give you cuddles and
then mama llama comes back
so instead of just making like yeah fun
daycare it says like it's okay to miss
your mama oh my god it's so sad I can't
so we still read it because she does get
upset and then she talks about daycare
like throughout the week and she's She's
always like, "Mommy and daddy come back
to get me." And I'm like, "Yes, baby. We
always come back."
Like, it's too much. For mascara, I've
got this Essence Lash Without Limits.
This is in a brown
shade, and it looks pretty chocolatey.
Ooh, yeah, that's nice. This is what the
one looks like. So, yeah, we're working
through the daycare stuff at the moment.
She has regressed with like her bedtime
routine. We had such a good routine for
a while there and like it was never she
never had a routine. But once we stopped
feeding and rah, we'd do two nights
each. So Clinton would put her to sleep
two nights, then I do two nights. Ra, it
was great. But ever since she started
daycare, she's just like,
"Mom does not want a bar of Clinton to
put her to bed." And we tried a few
times and she just screamed and
screamed bloody murder. So that's been a
little bit tricky because, you know, I
was getting used to that good life of
having two nights off. But look, if
that's what she needs right now to feel
comfort, then that's what she gets. So
far, I am really liking the shade of
this mascara. It's a very nice warm
brown. It's giving good length and
separation. A little bit of clumping,
but I am able to kind of separate them
with the wand. I am just also going to
put a little bit of eyeliner in my tight
line. Even though I put liner on my like
on my lid, I feel like it still looks
really gappy under here. So, I'm just
going to put a bit of brown in there.
And I don't know. I It's probably not
that big of a difference, but I feel
like it just makes my eyes and my
mascara look better having that filled
in there as opposed to not. So, yeah,
they are pretty much all the Amelia
updates. I'm very proud of her for
navigating all of these
changes
and like it was a lot. I was very
overwhelmed at the beginning, but it's
like, well, look at us. We did it. So,
let's get ready to tackle the new
challenges of going back to work and her
turning two, which she's already, you
know, hit that peak toddler phase. Mine.
Mine. No, me do
it. Ups and downs and ups and downs. I'm
like, holy moly. Sometimes, girlfriend.
I don't like the term terrible twos, but
it's a lot I guess that like I'm
learning to regulate and cope with while
she has these big like these big ups and
downs, which I've always been a very
patient person. I'm not really an angry
person, but becoming a mother has
definitely tested my patience. And I've
got this new found rage where it's like
I want to yell, but I know yelling at
you isn't gonna do anything. So instead,
I need to slam a door or punch a pillow
or
something. Okay, I am going to do my
bronzer. I'm actually going to film a
Tik Tok, Instagram real, whatever,
because I'm testing out the new OXX.
This is the Kmart bronze sculpt. It's
got a cream and a powder and this is in
cool bronze. So, we'll see how it goes
on fair skin. I have been uploading all
my Tik Tok and Insta videos to shorts.
Not all of them, but I've started like
the backlog. So, if you don't have those
other two platforms, hopefully you've
been seeing my shorts come up on YouTube
and you can watch them here as well. So,
I'll be right back and I'll let you know
about the skin cancer that I had to get
removed. Okay, but this Kmart bronzer
has literally just blown me away. As I
said, I'll upload the video to Shorts.
You've got to go see it. Wow. $6 for a
cream and a powder, and it's cool enough
for fair
skin. Amazing. Okay, for blush, I'm
going in with this Models Prefer
Luminous Blush in the shade Sunset. They
released a whole bunch of new blushes
recently. I've only tried this like once
or twice. So again, still gathering my
thoughts. So fun fun. I had to get a
skin cancer cut out of my shoulder just
recently. Everything is okay. It was a
BCC, which is
a I can't remember. Hang on. Basil cell
carcinoma. So it is a pretty common and
non-invasive kind of skin cancer. Mine
wasn't aggressive anyway. But around I
think it was Boxing Day, I noticed
something on my arm and like I'm a
picker and a scratcher. So like if I'm
just like touching my arms, I'm like So
anyway, I was scratching at this thing
and it started bleeding and I was like,
"Oh, okay." Thought nothing of it.
Noticed a week later it was still there.
I'm like, "Okay, that's weird. That
thing hasn't healed. I'll just keep an
eye on it." And I was actually quite
aware already to keep an eye on it
because literally a year ago Clinton got
a skin cancer cut out of the top of his
hand. So he had an SCC which is a
squam
squamus squamas cell carcinoma. So
that's kind of like the next step up. So
he had one cut out of his hand. So, I
was already
very like cautious and aware
that this could be something. And it
just looked a bit funny, too. It didn't
look like any of the other freckles or
moles or marks that I have on my body.
So, anyway, left it for another few
weeks. It was still there. So, I was
like, "All right, let's book a skin
check because this is suspicious." Now,
I go and get my skin checked yearly
anyway because I am so fair. I'm very
cautious of this kind of stuff. So, as
soon as I went there, he had a look at
it and he goes, "Yeah, I think it's the
start of a BCC." I was like, "I knew
it." So, he did a biopsy. A few days
later, or maybe a week later, they
called me back and said it had come back
positive. They're like, "Look, we've got
an appointment this afternoon if you
want to come get it cut out." I'm like,
"Okay, let's get this done." I did make
some videos on this, so I'll upload them
to shorts if you want to go watch them
and see what it looked like and stuff
like that. But this is what the scar is
looking like now. I got the stitches out
probably a week and a bit ago. So, it
was only really tiny. It was probably
like this big, but they had to cut quite
a lot out. It wasn't really painful. It
was just kind of like over and done
with. But what has like freaked me out
about this is that I have been extremely
sunsafe over the last few years. So I
know that this damage is from way before
then. Like I said, I've always been
sunsafe, been aware of the sun cuz I'm
so freaking fair, but there have
definitely been times where I have got
extremely burnt and the damage was done.
Now I'm worried like, okay, what else is
going to pop up from my previous years
of damage? Like, it's kind of scary. So,
this is just your friendly reminder to
wear your SPF every day and go get your
skin checked. Keep an eye out for weird
new little lumps and bumps on your skin.
This wasn't a mole. This was just like a
clear kind of reddish bump. All right,
let's go in with a lip liner. I actually
really liked this one I got from Mecca
Max. It's in the shade classy. Oh, such
a gorgeous
shade. Okay, calm down. And then for
lips, I want to try this Rimmel lip
latex. These are new. They have a
beautiful soft matte packaging. I
thought they were going to be a matte
formula, but they're like quite a
sheer
gloss. They stain though, like the
deeper shades leave a stain. I haven't
tried them on the lips yet, though. This
is the shade
um
sassy. It tastes
weird. Okay, it's not really adding much
color. Does the inside of my lip look
more
pink? Like more reddish? H I don't know.
Okay, might have to try that out on its
own. Tastes funny. All right. Well, this
is the finished look.
Feels nice to put this much makeup on.
M. If you enjoyed watching, give this
video a thumbs up. And if you're new
here, hi, hello. My name is Tena.
Subscribe to my channel. And like I've
mentioned 100 times, if you need more of
a fix, go check out my shorts because
I'm uploading there. I'm actually just
about to upload all the content that
Katie and I made when we went to Sydney,
which was like over a month ago now. But
the content's really fun and I'm getting
through my backlog. Anyway, who cares?
If you have any questions, leave a
comment and I will talk to you down
below. Bye.
