Hey guys, I'm Trey from Falling With Scissors here with our 2021 Chrysler
Pacifica rental. We're on a little run with, we hopped on a few dates with 156
Silence and Victims Co-Headliner with them and Heavy Hitter also on this
leg of the tour so really excited to be on it. We're in the beautiful city of
Chicago and yeah this is what we got going on. We were able to backline
Josh from Heavy Hitter is backlining shelves for tonight so we were able to
just take a minivan, not towing anything, super easy five-day run so excited to be
here. Yeah, show you what's going on, what we got going on. Alright this is the
cockpit right here, real real high-tech stuff. So we got Michael, plays bass, say
hi. Hi. That was perfect. We also got our dog, this is the wonderful
wonderful little dog pillow. This is my travel buddy, he's catching some Z's
right now but yeah some people say he looks like a capybara but he's a dog,
no question. Other than that, Michael, myself and Matt are all split in the
driving, you know, keeps everybody fresh, got a lot of miles under our
belt so it's nice to cram through it like that. Picking music, we're
mostly our driver picks schedule, you know, we've got a broad range of
interests in the band, a lot of a lot of electronic music, a lot of heavier
stuff between hardcore, mathcore, metalcore, all of the above so on the
way here we were just jamming some Purity Ring, before that it was some Cult Leader
so I like to like to switch it up from something, you know, relaxing to
something energizing. Had to play some Rise again since we're coming in Chicago.
Yeah, shout out, the legends. Yeah, I haven't really played a lot of music. He's been playing a lot of
Ska. Oh yeah. He is the resident Ska listener in the band. Ska, um, how does that find me, I don't know.
Is that Irving's Frenzy, Ska? No, um, post-hardcore stuff, Angel Hair from Boulder, shout out.
So, I'm on hog duty. That's a, that's like a marker for anything notable that
happens, so we were, this is Victims in 156 Silences Tour, but we're calling our
little leg of it the Hog Tour, part tour, because we were originally, we did
another little run last January, or this January, and that's, that's the pig that
is our other guitarist who is not with us for this run, so we're taking him with
us. Shout out, Brett. We miss you, Brett. Alright guys, here we got the middle
section of the van, this is Chance. What's up, I'm Chance. What do we got here? We got the
essentials, we got the wheat things, we got the yellow mustard pretzels, we got a
bunch of Pringles crumbs, tragic, some empty monsters here, we got the AirPods,
body lotion, I don't know where that came from.
Yeah, dude, this has been a lifesaver on the road. I can just charge my AirPods, my
phone, laptop, whatever. It's been sick. Also got, I made sure to bring boots
along with, you know, winter tour in the in the Midwest, you never want to get
caught without some good foot protection. Also, this is most, this is what keeps
Matt, who you'll meet in a second, this is what keeps him going right here. He's got
his own little, like, pantry. It's a full-ass pantry of snacks. Goldfish, flavor
blasted. Oh, there's some, there's some good snacks. We got, you're almost out
here, Matt. We got some chocolate chip energy bars, got, got some Cheez-Its, and
then, then we got some, got some deodorant, you know, good snack. Yeah.
Pretty much nothing, just sleeping, playing games on the phones, watching
anime on the phones, that's about it. This is for sleeping purposes. Shout out
Buc-ee's. We did have a little setup where we had to do mostly overnight
drive on this run, so we, I'll have Matt talk a little bit more about that, but we
did fold this seat down and have makeshift, makeshift bed here, so, you know,
it's multi-purpose. We got a, we got a transformer going on in this, in this
honey, so. Alright, here we are with Matt. He's our Tetris master and guitarist for
this run. Yeah, I play guitar. Yeah. Let's see if everything stays put.
So, as Trey was mentioning, we lucked out that we were able to use a back line on
this tour, and it makes touring in a smaller vehicle actually possible. I've
done tours where I literally toured out of a Scion XB cube car, and that's
because shells and, and, like, cabs are backlined, so that's just get your
breakables and stuff, and so typically what I try to do is I get all of our
instrument breakables and stuff, like heads, pedals, stuff like that, on this
bottom row. We had four merch totes to begin with, two were boxes, two were
plastic totes. We then put that on the next layer up, and then we put a bunch of
soft, like, personal bags on top, and I think I heard you mention that we did an
alternate setup one night. So, we had a long overnight drive from Colorado to
Des Moines. I was like, I don't think I'm gonna wake up easy at the hotel that we
got. So, I moved it to where we put the back bench back up. I put the merch totes
in front of it, and I put a bunch of the, like, soft personal bags on top of it to
make a really mid-shift mattress. I woke up super sore, but I think I slept better
than I would have in the hotel, so gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
Alright, well thanks for coming along for this, this little tour. Again, shout out
to Heavy Hitter, 156 Silence, and Victims for having us along on this run.
Super stoked to be here. If you guys want to check us out, feel free to give us a
follow on Instagram. We'll have all our show dates. Falling with Scissors, and
Open Your Eyes, out now, so check that out.
