Welcome to my allotment gardening channel. My name is Emma and these vlogs are my allotment diaries. 2025 is is my sixth year on my plot. I'm learning as I go and would love for you to follow my allotment gardening journey by SUBSCRIBING to my channel!
again.
Good morning everyone. Welcome back to
my a lotment diaries. My name is Emma.
These are the a lotment diaries. If you
are not subscribed to my YouTube
channel, please hit the subscribe
button. Um I've got 43,000 of you here
now, which is absolutely insane. A lot
of you have come over from Tik Tok as
well. So, if you're from Tik Tok, hello.
Welcome to my channel. Um, this is I've
been doing this for a lot longer than
Tik Tok. I just vlog about my a lotment
plot, my a lotment life, my a lotment
journey. Just growing stuff, trying to
grow stuff, trying to fend off the
slugs, stuff like that, basically. But
yeah, just um Oh gosh, you're back
again. They won't leave me alone. Every
time I turn up, they turn up now. Crazy
Einstein's back.
Crows love me. I just brought you into
the shed of doom because it's getting a
little bit windy out there. It's not a
great day weatherwise today. Um it's a
little bit windy, a little bit overcast,
but the sun is poking through and that
is excellent. It's what we want to see.
Apparently, I'm now best mates with all
the crows. Um somebody wrote me a
comment and said that if you make
friends with a crow, you're friends with
that crow for life. I don't remember
making friends with him, but apparently
we're now bestest buddies. So, I guess
you can't have too many friends, can
you? Let's be honest. Anyway, I had one
heck of a morning. I've had a cry. I've
cried about four times this morning and
I'm sick to death of crying. Um, it's
just been really stress. I just get very
overwhelmed sometimes. It's been very,
very stressful. So, I'm just so thrilled
to be here right now and I can just
potter around and do some stuff in the
garden. I think it'll make me feel a lot
better. So, that's exactly what I intend
on doing today. Pottering around, doing
those little jobs around the place,
cheering myself up in my favorite place
in the world. Does that work?
No. Okay, I'm all over the place today.
But you know what? Come and have a look
at my clemetus. I planted this last year
against my shed cuz I really wanted
something nice against my shed. Um, a
lot of you said I should get a real
plant to go up my shed. So, I got this
clemetus last year and look how well
it's done. It's done just fantastically
and it's coming all back this year. Last
year it grew quite big as well. What I
want to try and do is train it to go
around the windows, but I don't think
it's going to cooperate. just got a bit
of a mind of its own this one. But it is
beautiful. I might have to sort of tie
it in a little bit, make sure it goes
the right way. But yeah, it's going to
be a stunner.
warm in
here. 18
18° baby. Oh, it looks neater in here
and tidier. God, did I tidy it last
time? Amazing. God, I love forgetting
that I've tidied and then coming back
and being like, "Oh, it's so nice and
tidy in here." Um, I've got a few
sunflowers that I've repotted that do
need to go out. I think I might get them
out today. Um, the weather's looking up
next week. I mean, proper up, like 20s.
20s. Uh, sunshine,
20°. Fantastical. Not seeing much life
from these ders yet.
One of them's grown, but the rest of
them haven't yet. But maybe they just
need more time. This one grown a little
bit. Little tiny bit. So, I think there
is hope for them. So, we'll leave those.
Ra beans.
Good. Melons. Melons. Don't know where
these are going to go now because
obviously we've got the red ants in
here. Bit of a situation. Oh, it's
coming through. I better repot those.
I'll do that later today. Tomatoes, are
you all alive? Cucumbers, are you alive?
And by sort of, I mean not dead, still
growing, but sort of the bottom leaves
very, very yellow looking. Just not
really happy. And again, this tomato not
happy. It might be the humidity in here
that he's not happy with. I don't
know. I wish they could talk sometimes
and I could just ask them, you know,
like what's wrong? What's
wrong
there? Right. Got a couple of things
that I brought from home. Um, these have
been sitting in my house for a very long
time. This is a shelving unit. And that
one's like a planter sort of thing. So,
I'm going to build the shelves first and
then see where I'm going to put them.
Either in my shed or in here. I think
maybe in here cuz they're sort of
see-through. So, I think I might be
quite good for seeds to grow on cuz the
light can still get to them all. So,
let's build
it. So, if I have to suffer doing this,
you have to suffer with me. Right. Many,
many parts. That's what we like.
Not. All right. We need scissors. We
need
scissors. Can't find my bleeding
scissors. So, we'll just use what's the
hand. Actually worked exactly the same
as scissors.
So, success.
Go. Oh, there's another one. Come
back.
No, I don't think I need instructions
for
this. Why is it saying a drill? I don't
need a drill. Do I need a drill? Oh, we
don't need a drill for this. It's
metal. I'm sorry. I just don't believe
it. I just don't believe
it.
That just do
that. Where's the
instructions? Oh, bloody hell. I'll just
use the instructions for a bit of a
clue. Would it surprise you if I said I
don't really understand this? I don't
understand how that firstly these don't
click together properly. That's supposed
to go right around it and it doesn't. It
doesn't go around it. It doesn't do it.
It doesn't. If it says it should connect
up. It should just connect up. I don't
know why it has to be a mystery all the
time. I didn't ask for a mystery. I just
asked for shelving, you know. Side down.
Did it go like that?
Oh, can you stay, please? Please. Can
you just stay? Thank you. Stay, stay,
stay, stay. Please, just do your
job. Things. I don't even know where
these are. I don't even know what they
are. Where do they
go? Why is that got things on it? And
that one happened. How are they
different?
Yes. Yes.
Yes,
yes, it's
working. Right, there we go. It is sort
of built. It doesn't look as good as I
thought it would because it's a bit
rickety. Some of the shelves are
slightly unlevel, but I'm not sure how
to get them level. Um, and there's a lot
of parts over and a lot of plastic to
get rid of. But, you know what? It's
built. So, we're going to take them into
the greenhouse, I think. Right.
Hopefully, this goes without
hitch. Excuse me. Excuse
me. Right. I'm thinking over
here. Oh, okay. Excuse me. Excuse me.
Excuse us pots. Excuse us right
here.
Heavy. That's not good. Why is it Why is
it wonky then? Oh, is it because of
this? No, it's just because it's wonky.
Okay, great.
Brilliant. Will that stay up though?
What if I put something heavy at the
bottom? That might actually help to
level
it. It's an excellent idea,
Emma. Yeah, that's an excellent idea. Oh
god, finally I've had a good idea.
Brilliant. Right, should we dare to put
some seeds on this now then? Oh god.
God, I don't know if I dare. But you
know what? We've brought it and we've
made it. So, we may as well use
it. God, if it crashes down in a minute,
I'm going to cry.
I don't even know what they are, but
they can go
in. No, I don't like them being there. I
just don't like them being there. I just
don't feel comfortable. I don't feel
safe. Okay.
Yeah. Right. There we go. I just don't
know how
long Just don't know how long
realistically this is going to stay up
for. Um, oh my gosh, what an absolute
nightmare building this, especially
today when I'm not I'm really not
feeling it. But you know what? It's up
and I've got some seeds on it. Feel like
I've invited something into my
greenhouse that I don't like and I don't
trust. I have no trust in it whatsoever,
but hopefully it will stay up. Maybe it
needs some more like weight at the
bottom or something. I mean, it's metal.
The thing I liked about it when I saw it
online, and it was only cheap. It was 20
quid from Amazon, so what do you expect?
Um, is that the shelving is like
see-through. So, it's like metal
shelving. So, when you put your seeds on
it, each shelf gets enough light. And
the ones I've got at home don't get that
because it's like a board for the shelf.
So, the ones at home that I've got in my
back room will go into the shed cuz I
think it's great shed storage. And these
ones will stay in here if they survive,
if they stay up. Fingers crossed they
do. E. Anyway, that was the slog. Let's
get out into the garden. I think.
I think these tulips have had it. I
think they've got to go. They still
haven't flowered. They haven't shown any
signs of flowering. And if anything,
they're all just dying. Yeah. I
think I'm going to dig up the whole lot.
a whole lot of
tulips because they don't look happy at
all. They're just not doing well. And
every time I pull up a bulb, it looks
like that. I don't know if the camera's
going to focus on that, but basically,
it's rotted. It's falling apart. It's
got like these little holes in it and
stuff. They're not happy tulips, and
they're very small. I'm going to dig
them up just to make sure I get all of
the bulb out as well, cuz I want the
whole thing out. If it's any kind of
infection that could spread to my other
tulips, I want it
gone. So, that's what we're going to do.
We're going to dig
it. Hey, you don't think it is? Well,
you don't really get an opinion,
Einstein. Eh, no. You could come and get
the worms after. Yeah. Is that what you
want? The
worms? Yeah, you can come and get them.
That's fine. There's loads here,
Einstein. There's loads. Look, there's
one. That's a stick. Sorry, that's a
stick. In all my years of gardening, I
still think worms are sticks sometimes.
I still think sticks are worms. Oh,
there you are. Hello.
Right. There is something that actually
I didn't even noticed this. It was some
of you guys who picked it out on a
previous video of my tulips and I didn't
really believe you and I forgot and I
forgot to check but I've just seen it
for myself and I didn't know this
existed but I've grown multi-headed
tulips. Have you ever heard or seen
multi-headed tulips before? Cuz I have
never seen it and I didn't even know
that's what I' grown until it grew. Let
me show you. Sort of didn't notice cuz I
wasn't really looking for it. But this
here, this tulip is one tulip, right?
It's, let me see, it's got one stem here
and then it goes to three tulip heads.
How insane is that? And it's not just
this one that I've grown. This is not a
freak of nature. I mean, it might be a
freak of nature, but it's not alone in
being a freak of nature. Look, there's
another one here. There's more here.
This is just one tulip with multi heads.
I mean, very obviously this is obviously
a type of tulip that you can buy, but
I've never seen it before. And I cannot
believe that this tulip has got multiple
flowerheads. It's absolutely stunning.
And I mean, imagine putting these in
pots. You only need to put a few bulbs
and you would get hundreds of tulips.
Just something that I've genuinely never
seen before. Never ever seen that. And I
didn't even know I'd grown it until you
guys pointed it out. So, thank you so
much. Um, yeah. Let me know if you've
ever seen multi-headed tulips before. I
would love to know. I think they are
beautiful and I wish I knew what they
were. I think I just picked them all up
from a random garden center, but I will
try and find out what they are and share
it. Right guys, that's all I've got time
for today because I need to get going.
Um, I hope you've enjoyed my a lotment
diary today, my little diary entry that
I do. If you are new to my channel and
you haven't yet subscribed, please do.
It makes such a big difference to the
algorithm. Um, and it's so nice just
having more people watching these videos
and enjoying a lotment gardening. So
many people have gone and got an a
lotment plot off the back of watching
these vlogs without meaning to sound
sort of bigheaded about it, but um, I
just think that's just fantastic. And
the more people that are growing, the
better cuz honestly it has changed my
life. It's changed my entire life in
every single way. And hopefully it will
change some of your guys' lives for the
better. And anyway, um Oh yeah, I'm
working on my 2026 planner, my a lotment
garden planner at the moment. I'm making
some changes to it like I do every
single year. But if there's anything
that you want to see in next year's
planner, anything that will help your
gardening journey to be more organized,
um please let me know. Please leave me a
comment and let me know and I will
include it in the diary for next year.
And once again, thank you so much. If
you brought my a lotment planner or my a
lotment handbook, which is just some
kind of general advice of how to start
an a lotment plot basically. If you've
purchased those, thank you so so so
much. It's a huge help to my channel. A
lot of people ask how they can support
my channel and how you could help me in
any way. Um, and firstly, thank you.
It's so kind of you to want to help out
this channel and want to help me. You
can buy a planner or you can buy an
aotment handbook. They're both on Amazon
and they are always linked below in the
description. And that's just that would
be the best way that you could help me
if you want to. Um anyway, I'm going to
leave it there before I ramble. Thank
you so much for watching. See you again
Wednesday. Have a lovely gardening week.
Bye.
