In the second round of the 2019 World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship, Tiger Woods hits his 132-yard bunker shot on the par-4 9th hole to 11 feet then two putts for par.
To the night where Tiger hit an iron
off the tee into this predicament.
Yeah, that was his 8th iron of the day.
The same number he hit off
of the tee boxes yesterday,
so still fairly conservative and just.
Very poor execution.
Leading the day in strokes game putting.
I don't know.
Nota right here if he's going to be
able to get it over this tree
right in front of him.
Well, he he can work it from left to right.
If he starts to set the left edge of the green,
he's got a pitching wedge in his hands in or so.
Uh, in the balls not sitting very well,
so he's got a number of issues that
he's going to have to contend with
to execute this shot and anything
coming up short will not climb up
onto the green will actually roll
back 10 or 15 yards short of the
green. Well, we've seen him handle
a lot longer bunker shots and tougher
situations for his career, haven't we?
It's like a highlight reel,
but he's hit some memorable
fairway bunker shots.
This is a tough one here, though,
especially if the balls sitting
heavy in the sand.
Joey fits back in and.
OK. And they're looking at 34 to the
whole uphill when coming out of the
right with a little bit of hurt so.
It's playing every bit of 4045.
He's going to try to hit a whipping
slice that little practice
swings changed his mind.
And that he's been that he's
just gone back to a 9 iron,
so going to see trying create
a little bit more bend here.
Can see the rehearsal there.
Yep, he's got that kind of helicopter.
It's going to go practice swing.
It's going to go all Arnold
Palmer on us here, I think.
And if he doesn't pull us off Zinger,
it will just stay straight left.
So. There's anywhere to miss it.
That's a pretty good place to be.
Look how open his stance is.
That finishes Tiger, the artist.
I mean, he set you up.
He goes to the whole rehearsal.
You know what he's going to do,
but you say to yourself,
you gotta do this again.
Well, there's the you got the
artist in the engineer and this
right here is full blown artist.
Look at this thing.
So he got some big time spin on it.
In addition, helping the
cut get closer to the whole.
This is just another one of those
memorable shots that he's hit
throughout his career.
Look at this finish.
By the way, he's the first player in
that bunker at the 9th all day today.
And this could have been just a.
80 yard. Especially where he put it.
