Double Dome Kanab Collab DAY 13! #earthbag #offgrid

All right, friends. We're back for day 13 of the Double Done Workshop. Today, the weather has finally cooperated. We got a beautiful, warm, sunny day. And today was all about starting our finishing work. So, the first thing we did was build and pour a small slab for the dome that's going to come off of the building that we're going to put the tiny wood fireplace in. And we ran all of our electrical. We nailed it in. We plastered it over. And also we came back on the inside and did almost a full plaster coat where you can't see the bags anymore in most of the spots. Oh yeah, and the Hyper Doby bench is now fully covered on its second coat. Still going to get one final smooth coat. And also Ashley started putting in the huge ball jars that are going in the little port holes. really cool design that's going to allow us to uh open it from the inside using the existing latch. It'll have a screen on it so air can come through. Then you can close it up if you want. I think it's a really really good idea. And we've got a really great artist here that is forming the eyebrows around them. It's going to turn out really really cool. So yeah, this project is definitely winding down. There is a sense of sort of urgency to get as much of this done as we can before we leave. But there's also a sense of sadness because all of these friends that we've made, we're all going to be dispersing here in just about 3 days, which means we're both very excited and also a little sad at the same time. Uh, and that's okay to be both of those things. So, the Doubled Workshop has been a really big success and we're excited to keep updating you as we make progress these next couple of days.
