Cervinia, Italy — Beautiful, Boring, Backside of Matterhorn

Today we are in Cervinia, Italy. It may not look familiar but that is Matterhorn. It looks less appealing from Italian side and it looks like Italians had a very successful winter because they closed everything down and left. So we are on our way to Chamonix which is about an hour and a half away from here. We'll find a hike that's maybe four hours long and hopefully either a better view of the mountain or just something interesting. There is a lot of waterfalls. There is also this pretty thing. Because there is nobody anywhere we drove up as high as we could in this little resort town. Nobody told us anything. I assume nobody cares because everything is empty. And we found a trail that takes about four hours to finish. I feel like I just rolled out of bed onto this mountain. Because you did. Yes, but without water or breakfast or anything. So still slowly waking up. We have been to Zermatt multiple times. The mountain was always covered in clouds. Today she's probably showing herself in her full beauty. When we creep up on her from behind she's less shiny. Look it's Matterhorn and next to her is a heart. I guess there is never enough of that. I can't hear what you're saying. We just called it Poma and it's fun. You grab it, pull on it and then it comes. If you fall and you don't want to go all the way down to grab a new one you can just catch it somewhere in the middle put it between your legs and that's it. To climb up there and then find a trail down to this dam. There is one trail that goes around the lake and one that goes across the dam. It's a baby Ferrata. Close-ups of each little flower and then there was this one bee that was in one flower and he got really mad and I lifted it. Mr Bull got mad. Yeah he was like. yeah finally at the lago Somebody got pretty fried on the way We're really tight on time I don't know if I can afford it if we go back this one. Maybe i'll take a quick dip by the stream up there It looks amazing Made it well This little sign Has made the decision for us At the beginning was super little We slept in the car rolled out of bed. We didn't eat we didn't drink We basically just grabbed the stuff and started it to climb up here Drone all the way up here. I thought that would be such a beautiful shot to fly Over and around but guess what? I left the sd cards in the car We made it back to the top and as you enter you can see Exclamation for cheese, this is what it looks like in june when it's all abandoned You'd be so cute. How can you do that to me? I just made it back down And the restaurant we parked at opened up.
