Hello and welcome.
I'm Annette Reeder from thebiblicalnutritionist.com and today it's about three seeds that you
need to have in your diet every day.
I'm going to explain to you why and just so you don't get overwhelmed, I'm going to share
with you a very simple way to do this every day.
Well thanks for letting me share with you God's recipe for excellent health.
And this recipe includes being confident in the kitchen, this is mine, confident with
your health, that's what we're talking about today, and most importantly confident in understanding
how much God loves you with an everlasting love that is real and personal.
Now let's get started.
There are three seeds that can create such an amazing nutritional powerhouse in your
body and they are flax seed, chia seeds, and hemp seeds.
Yes, these are three seeds that I really want you to take notice of.
I've already taught you in other videos the biblical significance of flax seeds.
If you didn't catch that video, be sure you're subscribed to my channel so you get notified
every time I post new videos.
I'll link that video right up there and you can go and grab that.
I love to teach how the biblical foods can still impact our lives today, both physically
and spiritually.
So let's start with seed number one, which is what I just said, the flax seed.
There are 12 reasons why I want you to include flax seeds in your diet.
Number one, it reduces cholesterol.
And what I mean by reduce is it balances the HDL and the LDL to be healthful for you.
One is not bad and one is not good.
They both have a purpose.
And if we eliminate one too much, we lose the nutritional benefit or the hormonal effect
of it.
So what we want to do is balance it.
Number two is it also helps to lower blood pressure.
What it does is it helps to reduce blood pressure because of the oils that are in it and also
the fiber.
Number three is it promotes healthy arteries.
And we love for that blood to just be flowing through very well.
And so it has omega-3s and other compounds to help to prevent the buildup of plaque in
your arteries.
Number four, improves digestion.
And that's where I love to sing about because when we get the fiber plus the essential oils
where it balances hormones, it helps the gut to digest, prevents constipation.
And the next one is improves your gut microbiome.
It is an all-in-one package in such a tiny little powerhouse.
Number six is it improves the blood sugar control.
Those cravings that you get, that's blood sugar imbalance.
Those mood swings can also be attributed to blood sugar imbalance.
Next is it, number seven, it helps support weight management.
Many times, you're not going to want to hear this, but many times constipation is an
issue with an inability to lose weight.
So when we get good fiber in our diet, when we get the essential fatty acids in our diet,
we have satiety, we have a fullness at a normal healthy serving, and we're not always looking
for something else to eat.
So that helps manage your weight.
Another reason to have flaxseed is because they're very rich in antioxidants.
They have compounds called lignans, which are powerful antioxidants that protect the
cells from damage.
Moving on, it can actually help with menopause issues.
So many women have seen amazing benefits by adding the minimum of two tablespoons per
day in their diet of freshly milled flaxseed.
Some people will do three tablespoons or even four and just see how well that works.
But it has to be freshly milled.
Don't buy the already milled ground flaxseed.
No, you have to have the freshly milled.
In other words, you mill it yourself.
Now, next one is skin health.
When we are detoxifying, when we have essential omega-3s, when we have high fiber, our skin
looks amazing, which means we're able to detox in a natural way and our skin doesn't look
like it's detoxing in front of other people.

And then we also have the omega-3s that we talked about it being for the heart, the skin,
and then also hormonal balance.
We have to have our hormones balanced so that we can be happy and have happy days.
So besides all of that, it's good for all ages.
All ages in your family can be adding in flax seed every day.
Now I want to share with you the chia seeds, why you should have chia seeds in your diet
every day.
Number one, it's a complete protein.
Many times your nutritionist or your physician will say, you need more protein in your diet.
Well, let's just add some chia seeds.
So we have them right here.
We can just add some chia seeds to get a good quality of protein and it's a complete protein.
So as I teach you in the Treasures of Health Nutrition Manual plus the Treasures of Healthy
Living Bible Study, complete protein means you have all of the essential amino acids
that you need to make healthy cells.
Now you have 22 amino acids of which many of them you have to get from your diet.
Others that your body can make on its own, but some you have to get in your diet.
And so when it says it's a complete protein, it gives you everything you need to make healthy
cells and chia seeds are the complete protein.
It's a powerhouse.
Next is it's a good source of fiber.
Fiber is so vital for your life, for your living.
It does everything you need and we must have more fiber.
Fiber is going to nourish your microbiome.
It's going to help feed the bacteria and it's going to help you feel full with less food
and more satisfied.
Next is antioxidants and polyphenols.
This is such a tiny seed.
It's amazing how much nutrition is in this super tiny seed, yet it's an excellent source
of antioxidants and polyphenols such as cathaic acid, quercetin, rosmarinic acid, and many
others, substances that can actually protect your cells against free radicals.
And I have a video about that in the Treasures of Healthy Living video series, understanding
how free radicals work.
Antioxidants and polyphenols are great in protecting against cancers.
Cancers don't like antioxidants.
They're your powerhouse to fight cancer cells.
Next is omega-3 fatty acids.
We have to have omega-3 fatty acids.
It's an essential nutrient that we need.
We get it in many foods, so you don't always have to supplement.
And chia seeds, it's still amazing how such a tiny seed could have an oil in there for
you to benefit.
If your skin's a little dry, add some more chia seeds.
If you just feel like, wow, I just feel kind of rough all over, you need some more chia
seeds.
We've got to get the essential fatty acids.
It helps with eczema, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and many other issues.
Number five is heart-healthy fats.
Not only do chia seeds have the omega-3s, but they also contain other heart-healthy
fats, according to the Mayo Clinic.
And so we get nine grams of fat, of which eight of those are healthy heart fats.
So definitely make note of that.
And we get minerals.
Now, they might be the mini of the vitamins and minerals program, but we have to have
minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc, all of this inside the tiny seed
of chia seeds.
Next is they're very low in calories.
Now, we have protein, we have fats, and those have calories.
But in general, chia seeds are very low in calories.
So they're perfect to add to any type of eating plan.
So you get better satiety, you get full sooner, so you're not overeating.
You can make a pudding out of it.
You can put it in so many different dishes to get that nutritional bang in your diet.
And it also helps to balance cholesterol, bringing your HDL up and your LDL down, so
they're in perfect homeostasis, so you can have a healthy heart.
And it promotes bone health.
So many people have issues with bone, bone density, and bone strength, and bone health,
and they don't realize they need some magnesium, and some phosphorus, and some calcium.
Well, chia seeds have all three, all together in one tiny little seed.
Chia seeds protect against cancer.
Yes, God's little powerhouse, and these tiny seeds are perfect for helping you to prevent cancer.
Plus, the fiber is going to help prevent against colorectal cancer.
All of God's foods are very preventative for that specific cancer.
Next is it slows down digestion.
This is so important because it can prevent blood sugar spikes after eating a meal, which
gives you a better sense of fullness.
So not only that, it creates a satiety level greater than any other food out there, and
definitely it's something you need to add to your diet every single day.

Twelve reasons why you should have hemp seeds in your diet every day.
Now these seeds are not going to give you the CBD or the hallucinogenic effect.
These are just the seeds.
Here's twelve reasons why you should have hemp seeds in your diet every day.
Number one, they are a complete protein.
This is so important for every cell of your body and for your membrane.
We have to have good proteins, keep our muscles strong, our bones strong, our hormones happy,
everything working well, we need protein.
Next is they're rich in healthy fats.
So they're packed with omega-3s and omega-6 fatty acids, which are so beneficial for your
heart, reducing inflammation, and for your brain.
They are a good source of fiber.
All of the seeds that God has given us are definitely a good source of fiber, and hemp
seeds are part of that.
When you have good seeds in your diet, such as flax, chia, and hemp, you're going to have
beautiful skin.
Your body's going to detoxify in a natural way and not let your skin look to others as
being a detox organ.
And so you're going to have beautiful skin.
And for women who have PMS issues and even menopause issues, we'll get to that in a little
bit, hemp seeds are a great benefit at helping to balance the need for supplements or for
over-the-counter medications because they are going to fulfill the need of what your
body needs.
So realize the omega-3 fatty acids and the GLA, the gamma-linolenic acid, in the hemp
seeds help to alleviate the symptoms of PMS.
So I used to always just take a GLA supplement when really I could have just used the hemp
seeds, and that would have had the effect that I was looking for.
These are heart-healthy seeds.
They're going to protect your heart.
They have the omega-3 fatty acids.
They help lower blood pressure.
They help reduce cholesterol levels or at least bring them into balance and improve
your overall heart health.
They help with digestion.
So many people have issues in their body and don't even realize it stems from a bad digestion.
And so they have the fiber to help promote satiety and also to balance the blood sugar
levels and prevent constipation.
Hemp seeds prevent inflammation.
So many people are walking around hurting.
They have omega-3s and GLA, gamma-linolenic acid, which actually is very anti-inflammatory.
And so this is going to help reduce the inflammation in your body.
Hemp seeds are versatile.
You can add these to anything that you want.
Hemp seeds are a good source of iron.
They are a good source of iron, which helps prevent anemia and supports oxygen transport
in the body.
Are you tired in the middle of the day?
You might need some iron.
And so this is a good way of getting it.
Now, let's look at all three of the seeds that I just talked about.
We have the hemp, we have the chia, and we have the flaxseed.
How do we get all three in our diet every single day?
Well, here is what I'm going to show you.
This is how we do it here.
We just take our jar, we pour in some chia seeds, and I pour in some hemp seeds, and
I pour in some flaxseeds.
I know, it's just too easy, isn't it?
I'm not so concerned about the percentage or the ratios.
And then what I'm going to do is just shake it up.
This is what we put in the refrigerator.
We dip into it every time my husband's making his own smoothie, or if I'm making a salad,
whatever we're eating, I just take that.
Then we just keep our little scoop in there, and there we have a perfect blend of all three
of our seeds.
So I already have all three mixed together.
They're stored in the refrigerator to stay fresh, and all I need to do is scoop it out.
And that's what you have to do just to make this simple.
Now, how can you add these to your diet?
Well, I'm glad you asked.
You can put it in your smoothie, so just throw it in your blender.
We use the Vitamix here, and it will blend up perfectly.
Remember, we want fresh seeds that we blend up.
Use the chia seeds to make a delicious pudding.
You can make this every night of the week if you wanted to, a strawberry, a blueberry,
a chocolate, whatever you want.
Make your own pudding with the chia seeds.
Use it as the topping for your bread.
You can even add some sunflower seeds or some sesame seeds on top of it as well, but we
always use our blend of three seeds.
And you can also, if you are an oatmeal person, then just go ahead and grab your bowl of oatmeal,
and then just sprinkle it on the top, mix it in, and enjoy that for a delicious breakfast.
So there are so many ways, putting it on your salad, putting it in your casseroles, putting
it on your vegetables for lunch, for dinner.
Whatever you do, put it on your eggs for breakfast.
There are so many ways to get this in your diet, so make it simple, mix them all up,
store them in a jar that you know where they are, and let this work as well for you as
it does for us.
Well, thank you for letting me share with you these mighty seeds.
If you're wondering, well, which one of the three is better, well, let me just say this.
The better of the three for protein is going to be your hemp, but they all have protein.
The better of the fiber is going to be the flax and the chia, and for fats, flax and
hemp.
Hemp is going to have more magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc, whereas the flax and the chia are
going to have a higher amount of calcium.
Now you see why.
Just go ahead and make it all three, you get the biggest bang for your buck, and it's much
cheaper for you to mix them up, store them in an airtight jar, you'll be in control of
your health.
