Ryan Yarbrough will take the field.
He's pitched in 10 games, he's made two starts, won it all with a 3.70 ERA.
And he really has firmly established himself with the injuries to be that fifth starter.
Now he has not started in a while because the Yankees had that off day and they wanted
the rollout.
There are three best.
Here's Sam Haggerty, switch hitter, 273.
That one's popped up.
Who's going to get it?
Here comes Rice.
And he slides to make the play.
One down.
Here's Wyatt Langford.
Chopped towards second.
LeMahieu.
Two down.
And that brings up Josh Young.
Swing and a miss.
Another change and a strong first inning for Ryan Yarbrough as the Rangers go down an order
and the Yankees are coming back.
Jacob DeGrom on the mound for the Texas Rangers.
A 36-year-old, 4-1 on the year with a .229 ERA.
53 Ks to 11 walks in the 209 batting average against.
All right.
A DeGrom day today in the Bronx.
And he's ready to go again.
He swings and misses here.
And that's the first strikeout tonight for Jacob DeGrom.
Beautiful changeup here.
Turns it over and gets the movement that he needs for the strikeout.
Rice, .259 with ten home runs.
0-2 pitch.
Bounced down to first.
Nice pick by Berger.
And DeGrom fielding his position.
Covers the bag.
Two away.
Here's Aaron Judge.
And Judge works a walk against DeGrom.
So here's Bellinger.
A career-long 14-game hitting streak.
He's hitting .360s.
A 15-game hitting streak for Bellinger.
Judge stops at second.
Yankees first and second.
Two outs here on the bottom of the first.
Ball right there.
And just a short little swing.
Put it in play.
And he found a hole.
Good piece of hitting by Bellinger.
Dominguez at the plate.
DeGrom in early trouble.
Well, we'll see what he tries with him here.
3-2.
And a swing and a miss.
Got him on the slider.
So DeGrom's strikeout.
And he strands two Yankees.
We go to the second.
Garcia leads off.
2-3.
3-2.
Cutter again.
Inside.
Taken for a called third strike.
Here's Marcus Simeon, their second baseman.
And that one's tipped into the glove of Wells.
Three strikeouts in a row for Yarbrough.
That's a good sign.
I mean, Warren got off to a great start last night.
Yarbrough today.
Here's Jonah, a switch hitter, standing in on the right side.
And that's flipped down into right field.
That gets down for a base hit.
So Jonah, who had the home run yesterday, that one was a handful of bumblebees right
there.
That didn't feel good.
It's cold.
And that'll sting your hands.
And now here's Jake Berger hitting 2-11.
Ground ball.
Volpe.
That'll get the force and that'll do it.
No runs a hit.
No errors.
Only one man left.
Jonah throwing the ball to second base.
Did you see him?
I did not.
He lobbed it and it went into center field, like, way over Simeon's head.
So his hand, after getting jammed, is not doing well.
And it may well be that Bruce Boche is forced to make a move.
Yeah, there goes Jonah.
That's going to be it.
OK.
He's got a compressed nerve in his right hand.
And that is the layup.
So Jonah is done for the night.
And Tony Barnhart.
So Anthony Volpe will lead it off here in the second.
Volpe hits one to center field.
Hagerty can't make the play.
Volpe round in second.
He's going to go to third.
And the throw comes in.
It's an inning opening triple for Anthony Volpe.
Well, Hagerty made some really good plays in center field yesterday.
And I don't know.
This ball, it was affected by the wind or whatever.
But he kind of got mixed up on his steps.
So here's Austin Wells.
And here it comes, one and two.
And that is strike three called.
Wells down looking.
And they'll leave the infield in completely.
And this is back for D.J.
LeMahieu.
He's got it to Simi.
And coming home is Volpe.
No throw.
They'll make it to first.
So an RBI ground out for LeMahieu.
And the Yankees lead one nothing.
It just got past DeGrom.
And that got the Yankees a run.
Jorby Vivas now.
And he swings and misses for strike three.
Four strikeouts for DeGrom.
But the Yankees scratch out that first run of the night.
Time right now in scoring position.
Two balls.
Two strikes.
Two outs.
In the third.
Yankees lead one nothing.
Swing and a miss.
Changeup.
Five strikeouts.
And three innings for Yarbrough.
So for Jacob DeGrom now.
Six strikeouts among 11 batters.
Aaron Judge now the hitter.
You can't ask for a much more compelling matchup.
And that is lifted straight up in the air.
Short right field.
Garcia.
It took a long time for him to find it.
Simeon had it the whole time.
But that was not easy.
And at the end of the battle.
Look at this.
Aaron Judge.
Aaron Judge looks in and says yeah.
I just missed you.
DeGrom says yep.
Certainly did.
Jake Berger right hand hitter.
The payoff pitch again to Berger.
And he smashes that ball.
Down the left field line.
It is gone.
A Jake Berger.
Solo home run.
And he's tied this game at one.
It has to be a great feeling for Berger.
He gets a breaking ball that gets to the inner part of the plate.
And he crushes this 110 miles an hour off the bat.
Nice ten rows.
The smash Berger.
D.J. LeMahieu now who is driven in the only Yankees run.
And he shoots that out to right field.
Garcia on the run.
Dives.
And made the catch.
A lot of times an outfielder has time to put himself in position to make that kind of a play.
That is just pure reaction by Garcia.
This is the best defensive right fielder in 2025.
And that's a spectacular play.
Jonathan Lawazica takes over for Yarbrough.
Pitched very well.
And brings up Young now with the bases empty.
And two out.
Now the payoff.
Ground ball.
Left side.
That's through.
So Young hangs in there.
And comes up with a two out single.
Oh man on base for Dolis Garcia.
And the pitch is just up a little bit.
Ball for Garcia.
His gift to the walk.
Well what a spot here.
Marcus Simeon.
Uh oh.
My goodness.
Marcus can smile about it.
I don't know how that one got him.
And the bases are now loaded.
They're going to call on Tim Hill.
What a spot he gets.
Bases loaded.
Two out though.
Tucker Barnhart who was not in the lineup today.
Gets his second at bat of the night.
And he gets a tapper back to the mound.
But he makes the play to get Barnhart to out of a jam.
We're deadlocked at one.
And Jake Berger who accounted for the one with his fifth home run of the season will lead it off here for the Rangers.
As now Berger goes the other way with it.
Caring well to right.
It's gone.
Making a double smash Berger tonight.
Let's see.
A solo home run for Berger.
And he has the Rangers in front two to one.
This one is opposite field.
And this is a line drive that gets out in a hurry 107 miles an hour off the bat.
It's caught but over the fence.
That kid doesn't have a uniform on.
Doesn't count.
Hamilton will come on to face Hagerty.
He allowed his first two extra bases of the season last night.
Two in two outs.
Nobody on base.
And he smashes that one deep out to right.
It is gone.
Second deck in right field for Sam Hagerty.
That's his first as a Ranger and has a very big insurance run.
It's three to one.
And he crushes this fastball belt high into the second deck.
No doubter he knows it right off the bat.
Bellinger leads off here in the bottom of the seventh inning.
DeGrom still in there.
Well, since the triple Volpe 15 in a row retired.
DeGrom.
Now he's continually starting to really improve his year offensively
these last couple of weeks.
Another great swing right there.
You saw DeGrom shake off a couple of pitches.
And he went right back to the fastball.
Bellinger ready for it.
He has been a red hot.
Los Santos in a mess here with two outs.
Bases loaded.
And that one is hit shortly to LeMay.
He feels on the short hop and they get Smith.
And De Los Santos breathes a sigh of relief.
He works into and out of trouble.
Luke Jackson comes on.
With the Ranger lead very much on the line.
First and second two outs.
Judge against Jackson two for two in his career.
Two singles.
That's a base hit to left field.
Goldschmidt rounds third.
They're waving him home.
The throw.
Goldschmidt scores.
Tagged out is Grisham.
It's an RBI single by Judge.
And the Yankees have tied the game at three.
So here is Dominguez.
Yankees looking to walk it off.
Drilled deep to right for Jason Dominguez.
And the Yankees win four to three.
First walk off home run for the Yankees since 2022.
That was by Stanton.
So it's been a while.
And this time the Martian does it.
