Hey everyone, I'm Jeff from Excalibur Crossbow and today I'm going to show you how to change
your string on your Rev-X crossbow.
For this job you are going to need a crossbow stringing aid and a second string to put on
your crossbow when you take your old string off.
Step one is to take your crossbow stringing aid and put the loops over each limb tip.
Now you can tighten the rope by pulling on one of the loose ends to tighten the stringing
aid onto your crossbow.
Next you're going to use your charger X-crank to cock the stringing aid rope.
Release the full draw latch allowing the travelling trigger to slide down the mainframe.
Pull up on the stringing aid to make a tight rope across the mainframe and then use your
thumbs to push down on the sliding catch.
Once the trigger mechanism has grabbed onto the stringing aid, take your crank handle
and insert it into the charger X-crank.
Now turn the crank handle in the cocking direction to begin drawing the stringing aid up the
mainframe.
Once you've taken the tension from your crossbow string off, you can now take the string off
and pull it through the loops of the crossbow stringing aid.
I'm now going to take my new string, push it through the loop on the crossbow stringer
and over top of the limb tip and then I'll repeat that on the other limb.
I'm just going to ensure that the string loops are over top of the limb tips properly and
seated in the groove.
Now I can turn the charger crank handle in the decocking direction to take the tension
off of the stringing aid and put it back on your crossbow string.
To remove the stringing aid from your crossbow, you'll see a little cutout on the right hand
side of your mainframe and you can reach in and pull up the little lever underneath the
trigger and that will pop the catch from your sliding catch and take it off of the stringing aid.
Now I'm just going to wind the crank back up and I can now remove my stringing aid from
my crossbow and begin shooting again with my new crossbow string.
