Watch Videos In Your Linux Terminal

So just a quick tip today. I want to show you a really neat trick if you want to play video inside your terminal emulator. So obviously you need a terminal emulator. Now you need a terminal emulator that has the ability to display true color, but if you have mpv installed you can run a command such as mpv and give it this flag dash v o and then t c t and then the path to some video on your system. In this case I'll play this mp4 file from a recent video I recorded and if I run that you get a ASCII video inside your terminal emulator. It will have sound. So let's spend a couple of minutes talking about locks to kill that. Now why would you ever want to play a video as ASCII video inside a terminal emulator? I have no idea, but maybe sometimes you just want to do everything in the terminal. Maybe you're already at the command line. It's just easy to go ahead and type that mpv command to that file inside the terminal emulator. You're already working and you really don't care about the picture anyway. Maybe it's mostly the sound you're going to listen to. I don't know, but if you want it, it is kind of neat that this is something that is possible. Linux. The more you know. Peace guys.
