There are a lot of villages in Himachal Pradesh
but there is one village which people call the most beautiful.
To reach here, you have to cross one of the most dangerous roads in the world.
On one side of the road, there is a mountain on top of the road
and on the other side, there is a deep valley thousands of feet deep.
After crossing this dangerous road, you reach a village
which is situated right in front of the North Himalayan range
like a door to heaven.
Because right in front of it is the North Kailash
whose 80 feet high Shivling is seen from this village.
The people of this village believe in both Hinduism and Buddhism.
We believe in both Hinduism and Buddhism.
Kalpa is a beautiful village situated in the middle of the Himalayas.
Welcome to our video once again.
The motive of today's video is to explore Kalpa
which is a beautiful village in Himachal Pradesh.
We have reached Narkanda which is again a very beautiful village.
There are dense forests all around.
There is a small town in the middle of these forests which looks very beautiful.
We reached here last night and explored it a little bit.
There is a famous place called Hatu Peak which is the highest point of Narkanda.
You can see the whole of Narkanda from there.
We witnessed a beautiful sunset from there.
There are many other places in Narkanda but we don't have much time
because we have to leave for Kalpa.
We came here mainly for that.
But it's okay.
I will visit Narkanda again when I explore Shimla.
Then I will show you Narkanda.
Now we are leaving for Kalpa from Narkanda.
The mountains always excite me.
But today I was a little more excited.
The direct reason for this is the road from Narkanda to Kalpa.
I have heard a lot about its beauty.
Today I have finally got a chance to experience it.
In the initial kilometers, it is full of greenery and forests.
But things start changing when you enter Kinnaur Valley
where you are welcomed by these high mountains made of stones and rocks.
We have reached Kinnaur Gate.
You can see it behind me.
This is a very high mountain which has been cut to make a road.
It looks so dangerous.
This is called Kinnaur Gate.
The road and place before this is Shimla District.
Now we will enter Kinnaur District.
After entering this gate, you don't just enter Kinnaur Valley
but you enter one of the most dangerous roads in the world.
This is Kinnaur Highway.
This road is one of the deadliest roads in the world.
And you feel this as soon as you walk here.
There is a mountain on top of your head
whose pointed peaks look like they can fall at any time.
On one side, there are these high mountains
and on the other side, there are thousands of feet deep valleys
which can make a normal person's head spin.
The reason for this dangerous road is the mountains here
which are made entirely of rocks
which have been cut, half-tunneled and made a road here.
And all these things together make the world's deadliest road.
The real beauty of Kinnaur starts from these dangerous parts
where these rocky mountains turn into white mountains touching the sky.
So finally we have reached Kalpa
and with Kalpa we have been welcomed by Kinnaur Himalayan Range.
You can see a very beautiful view behind me.
It is a 180 degree view in which you can see all the white peaks.
Whenever I travel, I try to get a beautiful view from where I stay.
And today we have stayed at Abhikesh
which is only a walking distance from Kalpa.
And it is made very beautifully.
There is a balcony here where you can sit and chill
and enjoy the view in front of you.
And even from the room, you can see a clear view of these mountains.
So if you come to Kalpa, you can definitely consider it.
These snowy mountains in front of you are not ordinary mountains.
These mountains are the home of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati
which is called Kinnaur Kailash.
There is a Shivling about 80 feet high on these mountains
and right in front of this holy place is Kalpa.
This village is considered to be the most beautiful village in Himachal Pradesh
and you can understand this as soon as you see it.
These narrow lanes connect this village with a population of about 1200 people.
These lanes are filled with apple orchards
and these houses made of years old Kinnauri architecture.
These houses are made of wood and stone
where their walls are made of wood and the roof is made of stone
which provides amazing insulation
which keeps them warm in winters and cool in summers.
We have just reached the Shri Narayan Nagin Devi Temple in Kalpa.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
And we have just come to know that you need to wear a cap to enter
which you can find outside the temple.
So this is the cap, it is a Kinnauri cap.
On this pretext, we got a chance to wear a Kinnauri cap
and we will wear this to enter the temple.
At a height of about 10,000 feet, this temple is thousands of years old
which is made entirely of wood.
These amazing sculptures made on the walls make it even more beautiful.
Along with Lord Vishnu, there were also statues of dragons here
which are often seen in Buddhism culture.
Seeing such Hinduism and Buddhism together was something new for me.
I was completely unaware of the fact that this is the real beauty of Kalpa.
There is a Buddhist monastery just adjacent to this temple.
The locals here pray in both Buddhism and Hinduism.
They also follow Buddhism and Hinduism.
It was amazing.
I have never seen anything like this in my travel.
People are following both religions.
The beauty of this village is more than what you see from the mountains.
After seeing so much of Kalpa, most people leave.
But there is also a trek in Kalpa that takes you to these caves
which are about 1200 meters above Kalpa.
This is called Chaka Peak.
So we just picked up our bags and left.
This trek is about 5 to 6 kilometers long, which runs alongside a stream.
This stream comes towards Kalpa from the mountains where we left.
Let's try to wash our faces in the water.
It's freezing cold.
My hands are freezing.
It's very cold.
Very few people know about this trek.
Maybe that's why there was no one here apart from us.
Walking through these dense forests and meadows,
when you see the Khenor Range in front of you, it feels like paradise.
And this was just the beginning.
We had to go further up.
We have just started walking and you can see the snow here.
It's May, literally the first day of May.
And you can see the snow here.
So you can guess the height here.
If we walk a little more, we will reach the white mountain.
But we don't have to go that far.
We have to go a little further.
We will stop at Pugyal.
Since not many people come here, it's not difficult to get lost.
We met an uncle here to help us.
He was grazing his sheep here.
Can you see it?
Yes.
We have to go from the back side of the river.
What are you doing here?
Are you grazing the sheep?
Do you live here?
My wife has also come here.
But she hasn't come yet.
If you are not as lucky as us,
I have a small advice for you.
Just keep walking towards the top of the mountain.
We have found the source of the stream below.
This is the first time I am seeing a stream coming out of the mountains.
The stream is coming out from the exact same point behind me.
And if you look at the back, it's just a mountain.
The water is coming out from inside this mountain.
Which is a very good thing.
This is natural water coming out of the mountains.
And it is flowing towards the village.
For a trekker, his destination is exactly the same.
Like food for the hungry and water for the thirsty.
After walking for 3 hours,
In front of our eyes, Kinnaur Range and a height of 12,000 feet.
We have finally made it to Chakha Bugyal.
I am not sure if this is the same.
But we kept walking and now we have reached a point.
Where the treeline has ended and you can see behind me.
Bugyal has started.
And you can see just above Bugyal.
We are literally sitting at the glacier point.
And we can see Kinnaur Range above our heads.
We can see it right in front of our eyes.
Which is again a very beautiful view.
We can see a lot of peaks from here.
I will put up a screenshot of the peaks that we can see from here.
In the end, I think we have explored Kalpa well.
Because I don't think anyone comes here.
Only we are sitting here.
Because there is no one else on this mountain except us.
And I can understand.
Because it was literally very difficult to reach here.
So if anyone is interested in trekking,
he will be able to reach here.
I think this is it.
We have explored Kalpa.
How did you like the video?
Do tell me in the comments.
So I will see you in the next video.
Till then, take care.
