Welcome back to Mimi's Organic Eats. Today I'm going to show you guys how to make your own
homemade organic barbecue sauce with a secret ingredient.
And that secret ingredient is bone broth. I love using bone broth in so many recipes because not
only does it add nutrients but it also adds protein and flavor as well. So today we're
gonna be making our own homemade barbecue sauce with bone broth. The other thing I really love
about making my own homemade barbecue sauce is I can avoid other things like natural flavors
and colors that can be added in other store-bought barbecue sauces. So this recipe starts off with
two cups of organic ketchup and I'm actually using the O Organic Ketchup from Vons. This is
one of my favorite ketchups because they don't use any natural flavors. Even in organic ketchup
it's kind of hard to find and I've been avoiding those lately so this is a great option. And now
you're just going to add two cups of ketchup into a small pot. I'm using my stainless steel
caraway pot here. Next I'm gonna add in a quarter cup of light brown sugar. Then a quarter cup of
bone broth. I'm using chicken here but you could also use beef. If you don't have bone broth you
can also use a vegetable stock or a chicken stock or a beef stock as well. Next we have two tablespoons
of apple cider vinegar and we have two tablespoons of honey. Next we have two tablespoons of coconut
aminos. Next I'm going to do one teaspoon of salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Next we have half a teaspoon of ground yellow mustard seed, cumin, and smoked paprika. Make
sure you guys are using smoked paprika and not regular paprika. Once everything is in your pot
we're going to put this over low to medium heat and we're going to stir it up to combine everything
and then once the honey is pretty much melted then we're going to let this simmer for about
five minutes and then it's going to be ready to use. Once your barbecue sauce is done you can
transfer to a glass jar. I like to use a mason jar with a lid. Now it's ready to use in recipes.
You can use this homemade barbecue sauce with bone broth and anything that you would use regular
barbecue sauce for. You can put it on burgers, you can put it on chicken, you can use it as a
dipping sauce. If you want more easy organic recipes just like this be sure to hit that
