Hey guys, welcome to the Tokyo vlogs. We got here on Wednesday night. It's now Friday. Yesterday was
a sort of a blur. It was also raining and today we woke up to beautiful crystal clear blue skies.
We actually saw Mount Fuji from our room and I screamed. I'll insert a little video clip of it
now. Of course now it's actually covered by some clouds way further out closer to the mountain,
but at breakfast this morning they told us that only 66 days a year it's clear enough to see
Mount Fuji. So the fact that we could see it is actually kind of rare and cool. So I was very,
very excited to see that. Obviously we're very excited to be in Tokyo as well and so excited to
be starting the Tokyo vlog. Lots in store. Today is two of 14 days in Japan. So there's a lot to
cover. There's a lot to show you and I'm so excited to share it. Before we get started, of course,
I have to give you my corny little speech about subscribing. If you're not already subscribed,
today is the day to do it. Only half of you that watch my vlogs are actually subscribed,
so I would appreciate it. If you do like my vlogs, hit that subscribe button. It really
helps my channel grow. It helps my videos reach a wider audience and I'm trying to get to 100,000
followers by the end of the year, so you could help me meet that goal. Okay, so today's plan,
we are going on a tour. We have a private tour scheduled actually, which I'm quite excited about
and TBD, where we're going, I don't know where we're going, which is all the fun of it, but it's
nowhere near where we went yesterday, which is kind of like the Shibuya general area and we just
kind of scoped it out. Honestly, it's just massive. The city is massive. We looked it up this morning,
38 million people live in the greater Tokyo area, like 14 million in like the Tokyo city proper
compared to New York city, there's eight and a half millions. That's really, really crazy,
but we are staying at the Bulgari hotel in Tokyo in Ginza. Today, we'll do a little fit check for
you now, Brendan and I, before we head out and do our little tour. I'm so excited to use my new
Prada bag today. It's my first day like using it in the public or not in the public, just like
using it in general because I got it right before the trip and I've got it packed with a bunch of
things. Oh, the tax refund, I'm just looking at my passport, which is where I remembered,
the tax refund here is instant compared to Europe, instant. So basically you pay the all
inclusive tax price, which all prices are include tax, right? Like on a tag. And then when you give
your passport, you get 10% back. I went to studio Nicholson yesterday, which is, I think a UK based
brand. And they had a really cool store here and got a bunch of stuff. Actually, I'm wearing the
pants now. So let me show you, we'll do a little fit check. So my fit, these are the new studio
Nicholson pants that I got. And I liked that they're a little baggier, kind of new for me.
And then these are our legacy camion boots. I've got a theory black sweater and then
theory jacket. Then this Prada bag, I'm going to wear like this.
You should wear the tortoise ribbons to tie in the brown.
I'm going to wear my JMMs that have a little bit of a brown lens and the walnut side. Don't you
think that works? Sure. And it makes the whole day just like happy because it'll be... The lens color?
Yeah. All right. Today I'm wearing these 316 pants, these little green cargo, and then
aficion creative boots, which we'll see how that goes in the walking tour. And then this like
chunky clothes, sweater, theory jacket, no Sando jacket. And then Ben's Prada bag, the triangle that
he doesn't use very often. So I use it. Okay. Thank you. And then I can't decide between
these Persil, like very cool Japan Persil, or like tie in the green in the Prada.
Oh, let me see the Persil. Yeah. These ones?
All right. I think those are like a little meaner.
Those. 100%. Final answer. I'm looking a little mean now. But like that's cool. You look cool.
Yeah. It's pretty cool. And you can live that way.
Oh, Tamagotchi. Yeah, Tamagotchi, right. Yeah, three. 300. No, that's not going to work.
You can change. No, it's not that big of a deal. Let's just find one that we can afford. Is that
the only one? There it is. Wow. Unboxing. It is confusing. You got me a charm for my
Prada bag? It's the next day. We're on our way to team labs. I don't actually know what it is,
but it's like an interactive exhibit. Immersive. Screens. Screens. They say like the least
cultural thing you could do in Tokyo. We're doing that at 9am bright and early.
I don't think it's not cultural. Like I think it's like Japanese artists, but it's just like
immersive. Yeah. And it's something that everyone does when they're here. So I don't.
Brendan's knocking it off. Like we're like we're going to Cartier or something,
which don't put that past me. We had a lovely dinner last night at the Bulgari store.
We're done. We had a view of what? Cartier. And Kanye West ate at our hotel last night. So,
but we didn't see him. We just saw it on TMZ. And that was fun to see. Not really. I hope he's not
staying in the hotel. I'm really curious if he's staying. Like we don't know. It would be weird.
He seems to like live in hotels when he's like escaping places. I don't think he would be not
like staying in an apartment here. That's our hot juicy gossip. Time to get to borderless.
Is this the food section? Look at the Kit Kats.
I think this is my worst nightmare.
Hey guys, good morning from day, I think four. We had our little morning routine,
which is what you saw earlier. We've been going to the gym early. Actually,
last night was the first night that we slept fully through the night, which is very exciting.
And we are feeling adjusted. So now we're going to head to the teen museum, which is an art museum.
And then we're going to lunch and we're doing shopping and all the fun things. It's kind of
a rainy day. Yeah, we're going to need to bring the umbrella. I know. I don't want to. I don't
want to. I feel like we should buy a cheap one and like- That's like, yeah, like a pocket sized one,
if we need it. Right? Is that what you're saying? Yeah. Like it's supposed to
rain right now. It says 95- Okay, but it's not. God, this is a big city.
Hey guys, so we're coming to you from day
six, five. By the way, I haven't got to talk to you about the Oura ring. I've completely,
it's like something shifted in me. I was kind of on the fence before this trip about it. And like,
it was kind of annoying me. I'm obsessed with it now. Traveling with it kind of does tell you
you're dying basically, like with the jet lag and barely sleeping on the flight over here.
And then barely sleeping when we got here for the first few nights, it was like major signs,
major signs. But it is just cool how well it knows you and your body and your resting heart
rate and your body temperature. And it's pretty cool. And then also, I'm not wearing an Apple
watch all day long and I can wear my fun watches and I can wear them out at night. And I don't care
because I'm wearing this. It really just tracks your every move. And I'm obsessed with that. I
think that's so fun. And we've been walking like 10 to 15,000 steps a day. Our biggest day was 18,000,
not yesterday, but the day before. And Brendan wore his La Mer, where are those?
His La Mer, like little moccasin shoes. And he was so cute because he was like,
it feels like there's a thousand knives going into his feet. It's not like they gave him
blisters or anything. It just was like, they're very flat bottomed. They're literally the most
comfortable shoe in my head because of these like gum soles. But I wore them for so long that
it's just terrible. They look cute. So he's wearing my Salomon sneakers today,
which are a total vibe and look cool, but they're like walking on clouds. Brendan went to,
there's so many vintage shops here and I just get very overwhelmed by vintage shops and you really
have to be willing to pick through and go through. And I just can't do that. It's just, my brain is
not wired to do it the way Brendan can. And he is very talented at like picking good things out.
Whereas I am just like, my head just goes crazy and scrambled. I need it to be curated. You know,
like here's this section. I mean, this is like piles and piles and piles. And then we're going
to go to the Shinjuku neighborhood. And there's apparently, we've been told by multiple people,
you've got to go to this department store. Go. And we're going to do that. Here's Brendan's
look today with this thrifted jacket. Honestly, they call it used. So his used jacket,
there's no brand on it, so I can't track it down where it's from, but yeah, it's super cool.
And then jean detail. These are winning New York. I think they discontinued the brand, but
nice. We probably found them on Essence actually. And then Ben's Salomon, so I can
not complain about walking all day. Got a theory jacket, Robert Baraket tee. You guys know I love
those tees that Brendan got me onto. Studio Nicholson pants, which is completely my new
personality. And our legacy. Wait, let's do that again. Completely my new personality. And
then. Hey guys, welcome back. We had a fun little day in Shinjuku, which is crazy. Just like city
within a city. It feels like Tokyo just has all these like mini cities. It's crazy just how vast
and large Tokyo is. Now I wanted to give you a room tour. As we promised, it's golden hour,
as you can kind of see. So it's going to be fun shots for you. So let's get started. Obviously,
the view is the first thing. I mean, this is when we walked in, this is the first thing that just
took our breath away. And obviously it is amazing. We were over, if you see over here,
those buildings, that's where we were today. That's Shinjuku. Actually, I have no idea if
that's right. No, Shinjuku's there. That's where we were today. That cluster of buildings.
And right now, like Ginza, you can kind of see over in the distance there, Tokyo tower.
And that's Minato city area. And then there's the park here. And then up north here is like
Ueno park. And then right down here is Tokyo station, which is cool. So we've got really a
view of the city and we're the tallest building. So we're towering over all these buildings in the
vicinity, which is nice. And we have these panoramic cool views. So this is the main
room. They've been giving us nice little treats here, like an amenity every day. And
these strawberries are the Kyoto strawberries that are like an air one. So good. A little
sitting area here, which is just kind of been a catch all. Then there's this desk over here,
this beautiful tray ceiling, really nice. It's a vibe in here at night too. Light wood floors.
It's kind of, we've stayed in a couple of Bulgari's as I said, and it's, this one is
definitely like East meets West, which is nice. Even these wall coverings, the grass cloth is so
nice. They also give you this pillow menu. So you can choose from a bunch of different pillow options,
which is a fun touch. And we definitely, we got some more firm pillows the first night.
Touch next to the bed. There's all the controls for everything are in the bed. So all the curtains
are right here and the privacy for the door, the, all the lighting, your charger, it's all right
there, which is really nice and built in and custom. And this has been in every Bulgari we've
stayed in. And Z-Quill. And this is the little entry hallway, which the lights are off in here,
but you get the point when you walk in. And then when you walk in this entry hallway,
there's this beautiful, you're hit with that beautiful view. And then over here is the closet.
It's really a great space. I mean, we have a lot of stuff as you can see, because we're here for
so long and we're high maintenance. So it fits everything nicely. And we've been pretty
comfortable with space. We don't feel like we're fighting over closet space. So that's a plus
because we've been in hotels before, even nice hotels where they just don't have enough
closet space. So this is obviously really nice. And there's this little vanity area that we're
using as like our tech corner, lots of little tech items. And then over here, the
mini bar and the mini bar is cool. It's got so many Japanese things like
this little matcha tea set and all these organic teas. And then in here, the
mini bar, some of it's Italian because Bulgari is obviously an Italian brand,
but these are from Italy, but I just think that's a nice touch. It's cool.
And then this is the fridge in here. They were bringing us some milk every day for our coffee
because I've been waking up and having an espresso. And then everything is just like
built in, like really cool. Like everything, it just has its place. Okay. And then moving into
the bathroom, we've got a nice double vanity sink and this awesome black tile. Like it's very cool.
And I'm sorry that the light is doing that flickering thing. So annoying. And then there's
these sexy doors. So then you've got the, hello, welcoming toilet situation. And then here is the
shower and I'll turn it on for you because it's so sick. Just like such a cool rain shower,
Yeah. I have the scary microphone out. Should we walk a little bit? We're back in the Omotesando
area and we're in Harajuku. We realized that we never went North of the main street in this area.
And now we're going to Takeshita street and we're going to have whatever experience that we have
there. Brennan's developed an aversion to smells on this trip, by the way. He's like, I don't like
strawberry smells. Totally bizarre. He made that up. So we're going to walk down the street and
maybe try some things. All right, guys, we're going to end the vlog here. We have to now pack
up a very complicated situation. And because we're going to Osaka next, but we're not going
to bring all of the luggage that we brought with us to Japan. We're going to leave some at the
Bulgari hotel because we're coming back to the Bulgari hotel for one night before we fly back
out. So next we're going to Osaka and Kyoto and we're going to go with, we're going to try to go
with one checked bag each because we don't, the trains don't have room for them. Trains don't have
room for them. And like, we're not Erica Jean like flying to like perform at a gay bar. Like we
don't need six bags. You know what I mean? So we have to now come up with our capsule collection
and go to Osaka. But thank you for watching this vlog. Please subscribe. If you're not already
subscribed, we have lots of more Japan content coming up and we'll see you in the next one.
