Day three of riding now. Last night's step-up session was sick, like honestly the best.
Everyone was doing brand new tricks. I did a backflip superman which I'm so stoked with.
I've finally got like that all-time dark fest step-up clip that I've always wanted.
Now we're back at the top of the course although the rain has softened things so people are taking
it steady. I think we'll be doing top to bottoms within a few minutes. Let's do it.
I'm not jumping. He's just looking at it. What are you going to do, inspect the condition Sam?
I'm not sure. Don't know. I might just do it. We'll see. All the best to you.
It's running well fast into the 90. It's probably a tailwind though isn't there?
Can I go? Sure. Thanks.
Whoa! Yes! All the way, first run. Went big on the last. Yeah boy. I just heard
Chaos Seagrave say that he wants to have a little run into the 110 footer, biggest jump in the world
which I did once last year. Not the jump, I ran into it but I've forgotten where to go. Yeah,
sea dog. So instead of hitting the shark fin there, you jump low, stay high. I mean that's
not even a small jump this one. You wouldn't want to case that. I probably had one shot last year
but it got dark and I had tinted goggles. So this is the road gap. It's got kind of a lip on it.
They haven't done any... Stress. Yeah, this is massive. What they all say is jump this,
land good and just go as fast as you can. I don't like go... I don't like fast as you can as advice.
Jump, berm, exit and then you actually can see the trees so it'll be all right. Okay,
let's get up there mate. I've gone from having so much fun riding a 90 footer to just like
full, full to like the brim with fear to be honest. For a jump it's only 20 foot longer but
makes all the difference. Oh, I forgot my big body armour.
So you reckon set out around the berm. Do you want to follow me? Yeah. I'm pretty confident in it.
Thanks. That's fast as ****.
Just feels gross. It's all so fast and pointless. I think this might be a little slow. So much
speed. You actually have to turn a lot. That's actually a proper corner. Yeah.
At that speed. Last year I gave it 100%. Oh yeah. I just can't get... That's so far on a bicycle.
Yeah, I feel like I've got pressure to jump this. I shouldn't feel like that but
I'll just jump this quick to chill out. I just think if someone goes,
we need to be like kind of poised and ready, don't we?
Yo. Height. It's hilarious. Oh my god.
I'm going to try a top to bottom run now with a unicorn mount looking back at me which should
Maybe I never will. I don't know. Now you're going to try the speed. Yeah.
Whoa. It's too windy but that feels like a tight turn at that speed.
Yeah, boy. Good morning. So yesterday's session was sick. We did loads of riding but I kind of
knocked it on the head and decided it wasn't the conditions to jump the 110. Everyone agreed,
even BMW. And then just before dark last night, BMW and Matt McDuff actually pushed up the course,
did loads of run-ins to the 110 and actually jumped it just before dark.
But I'd already checked out and it stresses me out because it feels like that's kind of my
quest this week and it might rain tonight. So it's like this all-consuming quest. Oh,
they've completely dug out the bottom of the 110 lip. Even if we wanted to ride it now, we can't.
No. Yeah, I can visibly feel the air coming up. It's like there's a headwind. Yeah,
I can't do it this morning. I can't explain it. I'm in paradise on the best jumps on earth,
just the most fun, the most fun, but now I'm stressed about a factor that I can't control.
I could just enjoy riding the 90, you know, all day.
The fact I want to do the 110 just like is actually all-consuming.
How much deeper will it be? You'll probably go higher on this jump.
I didn't break at all into the rockets and chain-ringed them both.
I know, you can feel like the air is heavy and thick.
This video has just become an endless cycle of looking out the window at the wind and the
weather, but it looks like it's dropping. We've got rain coming tonight for sure,
so it is actually now or never. I have left it to the last minute again. This time,
I'm going to go up the hill now, be the first up there, the last to leave and just wait it out. If
the conditions become right, I'm there. I think I'm in the right mindset. Here we go. I'm really
roller. It already feels outside the realm of where you should be riding bikes on jumps, really.
Oh, I've got jelly legs. Look how far away that take-off is. I don't know why I always
have to spend so much time on my own when I'm scared. The other thing is you can't really
actually land at the point you see from the take-off, which is there, because it's quite flat.
You actually have to land about there. It's about another 10 foot further than what the eye sees.
Then you have to break like hell because you're coming in with 20 foot more
distance and speed. I need to remember that. Is this recording?
Yes, it is. Could you call the drone? I'm going to do the 110.
Oh, my God. Yes. Yes. That's the best and worst thing I've ever done.
