Guys, Mike Chin here in Manila. Um,
tonight I'm going to a buffet I've been
wanting to go to for a while. Getting
here was a trek. Apparently, there's
this ginormous boulevard where traffic
just just does not move. So to get here
had to walk about half an hour and then
take the train. And now here I am I
think and this buffet is located inside
the Shanganger. A few minutes later.
Okay, finally at the hotel itself. Oh,
here it
is. Welcome to Heat Buffet.
Oh my gosh. Seriously, they have a whole
tuna over
here. Wow. Look at that sushimi. It's
first time I've ever seen a ginormous
whole tuna at a buffet before. There's
blue crab, ginormous prawns, muscles,
shrimp.
There's tons of sushi,
nigiri, a lot of seafood
salad. This is the India
section. There's also fresh scallops.
Oh, look at this. A seafood boil. Nice.
There's a tray of what looks like smoked
salmon or salmon. There's ribeye. Wow,
that looks juicy. Yorkshire pudding.
There's chicken. Everything is grilled
fresh in the back. For drinks, you get
unlimited iced tea or
lemonade. There's a noodle
station. You can build your own bowl of
noodles with
shrimp or muscles.
Right behind that is the salad bar,
smoked salmon, cured meats, sear tuna.
That looks
good. Bunch of cheese,
breads, freshly fried tempora. There's
local delicacies, local sweets, be
different types of local rice cakes.
There's a station where there's whole
roast
fish.
Wow. Three different types of giant
roast fish. There's a whole lechon
section as well. Oh my gosh. Look at
those. Look at this monster
fish. Oh, this pizza looks really good,
too. Look at that nice
crust. There's a little bowl of seafood
paella. Oh my gosh, that's an entire
ginormous octopus. There's also a ton of
local dishes like freshly fried prawns.
There's looks like fried shomai. There's
buns. More fish. There's
rice. Pork assado. That looks good.
There's soy sauce chicken as well. Oh my
gosh, look at this. More ginormous fish.
So, I guess you can just pick out your
fish that you want and then I guess they
cook the fillet for you. Never seen
something like this on a buffet before.
First time. And then the middle is all
about the sweets. You can of course make
your own halo halo. There's different
types of ice cream fruits. There's
churros, fried suman, camote fries. I
think they make crepes here. There's a
cotton candy machine. And on the
opposite side of the desserts, look at
this. This is all plant-based dishes.
Well, mostly plant-based dishes. So, I
never seen a buffet with so much fish
before. There's a ton of seafood items.
And tonight, well, it's a Friday, so
seafood night tonight. That's why
there's so much seafood items out there.
But wow, that's pretty impressive. And
there are a lot of healthy dishes, I
think, because I think heat stands for
healthy eating. Amazing taste, if I got
it correct. All right, let's go eat.
Start with the seafood. Baked scallops
for sure. Grab some
shrimp. This corn looks good. Blue crab
for sure. All
right, my first place. I just went and
got some seafood. This is the sauce I'm
supposed to dunk my uh seafood boil
into, I think. So, I got some seafood
boil, some freshly grilled salmon, some
baked scallops. These are the nice size
scallops. Little cold, but that's
delicious. That's so cheesy and nice.
And the scallop roll. Oh, that's creamy.
seafood boil. Look at this. Dunk the
blue crab in there. That's the meatiest
part of the crab right
there. Oh yeah. This is all such
gorgeous crab meat. Giving her a
dunk. This is good. This crab boil is
awesome. Actually tastes like a Cajun
crab. It's spicy. It's got all that nice
Cajuny kick.
The crab is so so so soft and tender.
Also, yeah, that seasoning definitely
has a
kick. Shrimp is
good. Corn is
delicious. For me, whenever I eat a
seafood boil, I got to get corn. This
thing just soaks up so much the nice
spices. Also, check this out. Freshly
grilled salmon. Look at this. This thing
is all sorts of spiced
up. Oh, this tastes like black and
salmon. It's really good. It's tender.
It's juicy. That little toasty bits from
the fire and the grill. That's really
good fish. All right, round two. Oh, I
totally missed this. So, you take the
tuna and they grill it for you. Okay,
I'll take a grilled
tuna. So, besides grilling my tuna, I
also got some of the ribeye. Add some
mushroom sauce on top of that. Oh, I
totally didn't see the pepper sauce. Add
some of this, too. Why not? And then
after the fish is grilled, add some salt
and pepper. Look at that ginormous
shrimp. Wow. Oh my gosh, look at this
monster. All right, so I'm so excited
for this. Let me try out my steak first,
though. So, I got a little surf and turf
on this plate. Rabby steak, some grilled
tuna, and this ginormous prawn.
That's not a bad
steak. That steak is nice and tender. I
like the mushroom
sauce. I definitely like that pepper
sauce, too. Especially in the
middle. That's such a tender piece of
steak. This is cool, too. Freshly
grilled tuna. Yeah, this looks like it's
cooked pretty
well. That's wonderful. This tuna tastes
so fresh. I'm so glad this wasn't
overcooked. Juicy, tender. Add a little
salt and pepper. Oh, it's perfect. Now,
let's get to this. Look at this thing.
Break it
open. Definitely suck on that
head. Oh,
yeah. Oh.
Unfortunately, that tail is definitely
overcooked. That's a shame. That was
such a beautiful shrimp. Yeah, that tail
was really, really tough and dry. All
right, I feel like I got to get some of
the chan um before that thing dries out.
I'm the first person digging into this
fish, so hopefully it's not going to be
really dry cuz it's been sitting under
the buffet lamp of death for a while
now. There's also fried fish. And look
at this ginormous salmon. Okay, this
thing looks nice and juicy. This fish
might be a little dry, too. So, this
plate I got bunch of the giant fish and
then some of the lechon. The fried fish
looks pretty good with some tartar
sauce. That's not bad. It's crispy. It's
flavored well. Pretty good. I am really
worried about the fish that I got. This
definitely looks a little dry. Yeah,
it's
dry. Oh, it's so dry. As soon as I was
digging into this fish, I could tell
it's just been sitting under the lamp of
death for a
while. That's so dry. The salmon looks
really good,
though. Salmon is really good. Salmon is
awesome, actually. It's tender. It's
juicy. Add a little tartar sauce to my
salmon. That is a beautiful, delicate
bite of fish. Speaking of beautiful and
delicate, my lechon looks awesome. Look
at this thing. Dunk it in some liver
sauce.
M. The lon is so awesome. Wow. And look
at the crispy skin. Wow. I think it's so
light.
Love it. I think in the Philippines,
probably the only place in the world, if
I see a whole roast pig, I can't wait to
get some and it's probably going to be
amazing. Not true basically anywhere
else, especially Las
Vegas. So good. The meat is good. The
skin is so light and crispy. Oh, this is
going to be a good piece right here. Oh,
yeah. Best piece. Best piece.
fatty. So
crispy. Oh man, that's some melt in your
mouth. Grilled pork right there. Oh,
that was good. Lan. So far, I think the
best thing on the buffet, the ribeye
steak, the lchan is phenomenal. The
grilled tuna is so good. The whole
salmon is delicious. Let's go for round
three. This is all different types of
rice. There's red
rice, garlic. Oh, that garlic rice looks
good.
Oh, that looks like really fluffy garlic
rice. Shwarma looks good with some fried
fish. This is all seafood you can grow
as
well. What I love about buffets here in
the Philippines, they're so flexible.
They really want to make you happy, make
you enjoy your food. So, I I see a lot
of people just going up there with
plates of shrimp and just asking them to
cook it in all sorts of different ways.
Apparently, they'll do that for you.
This fried fish looks good.
That's really dry. Let's try this. This
is um ging I think it's called. This is
vegetables cooked in coconut milk. Eat
some of that over garlic
rice. That is a marvelous
dish. I could go for a whole plate of
that. Snappy green
beans. Spicy fragrant coconut milk.
Incredible. Also got a schwarma cuz why
not?
Oh, it's a fish schwarma. If that wasn't
a little dry, that'd be pretty darn
good. I think my grilled fish is ready.
Oh, nice. Thank you. Thank you. Okay,
got more grilled fish. I got a snapper
and I think a tilapia. I think this is
the snap right here. Wa! Oh my gosh,
this looks so
good. Mo, it smells so good,
too. That's awesome. That's a good grill
fish. You can see how juicy this thing
is. The meat is firm yet tender every
time you take a
bite. All that juice from the fish just
gushes out. Wow. This is a phenomenal
grilled fish right here. You can
definitely taste that. This thing just
came off the grill. This is the
tilapia. That's good, too. I like the
snapper more. The grilled fish is
probably some of the best things here.
This is really interesting. I think this
is a tuna canilo that they just made me.
So, this is raw slices of tuna cooked in
vinegar with some cucumbers, some chili,
some ginger, some shallots. Wow, look at
this. That's
great. That's so tender and nice. Very
vinegary. It's spicy. It tells so fresh.
This is really, really good.
All right, I got some muscles soup, some
soy sauce, chicken, some pork adobo,
some octopus, a ginormous prawn, and a
built fish. When I was in China, this is
something that my mom, my grandma cooked
for me all the time. It's my favorite
fish. Never seen on a buffet before.
Muscle soup looks good. M. Oh, this is
so good. This is my soup right here.
Little briny. Definitely taste the
scallions, some ginger in here. Also,
it's got a good amount of heat. Oh my
gosh, this is delicious. Muscle
soup. Oh,
100%. Oh, it's such a delicious soup.
All right, I think the
octopus. Yeah, it's too too dry. Oh,
man. That sucks. I was really looking
forward to that octopus pork
adobo. That's
yummy. Soy sauce chicken is delicious as
well. All right, I'm really looking
forward to this. This is my favorite
fish in the world. I love eating it
because it's so easy to debone. It just
has bones on either side of this body.
So, just remove this and then there's
just a rib in the middle. And what you
can do is pretty much just pick it up
and eat it like a
rib. Oh yeah, this is so good. This
thing is seasoned well. It's so meaty
and tender. This is such a good fish to
just grill or stew. And when I was
little, my grandma just grilled these on
the stove. A little sprinkle of salt.
That's it to me. Best fish ever. All
right, I'm really excited for this. Look
at this fried
monster. This is a massive massive
prawn. I think the problem with seafood,
if it sits at all, it just becomes
really really dry. I think because
tonight there's not that many people
here, so the seafood dishes are sitting
underneath the buffet lamp of death for
an extra long time. It just comes out
real dry. I think the flavor of the
prawn is amazing. It's been sitting
there too long. I wonder if it's because
like this hotel is so hard to get to.
It's almost impossible to take a taxi
here. I went to the noodle station and
got a bowl of beef noodle soup with some
beef tendons, some eggs.
That's really
good. Not bad at all. A little on the
light side, but nice and
beefy. It's actually really welcoming to
have some very light beefy
broth. Noodles are good, too. It tastes
like a very, very, very light bo of [ __ ]
with super chewy noodles.
I've been eyeing this tempura. Oh yeah.
Freshly fried pip and hot tender sweet
shrimp. Crispy batter on the
outside. Oh, that's a pretty darn good
tempura. They do a pretty darn good
tempura here. I think I am nearing the
end of the savory
foods. At every buffet here in the
Philippines, I always try out the pizza.
This crust is probably one of my
favorites. Also got some more steak.
Going to go get some more lchan and then
we'll hit up the dessert
section. That steak is spectacular. A
few moments later. No way. They got
baked Alaska.
All right, dessert time. They have this
little mochi looking thing. It's the
baked Alaska. Dessert looks pretty
good. Oh, yeah. This chocolate cake is
delicious. This is the chocolate
hazelnut cake. Wow. Layer of chocolate
on top. There's chocolate mousse, I
think, in the middle. And it's sitting
on a
brownie. Oh, it's so good. Also got a
raspberry cake.
Not as good as the chocolate cake, but
not
bad. Chur is always good to have as well
as the chocolate
mousse. Oh, this is amazing. Dark, silky
chocolate on the bottom, fluffy
cloudlike chocolate on top. Oh, eating
that makes you so happy. Also, I found
this matcha
cake. This one's just okay. It's just
like angel cake with that matcha
frosting. All
right, this baked Alaska just kind of
tastes like strawberry ice
cream. The buffet also comes with
cappuccino. Oh man, this is so nice. I'm
just going to sit here and slowly enjoy
my dessert. Drink my cappuccino. This
might just be my favorite part of a
buffet. When you're full and you start
opening up your second stomach for the
dessert, get some good coffee or
tea. It's really a good cappuccino, by
the way. Wow, they're so nice. They
brought some mango over. Fresh mangoes.
Wow. I was going to get some halo
halo. I don't even need it. This is the
best way to finish up the night. Fresh
mangoes in the
Philippines. Nothing like it. It's so
juicy and sweet and aromatic. The last
time I was in the Philippines, I was
supposed to actually go to this buffet
instead of Cafe Elong because I heard a
lot about it and I was always curious
what this buffet was like. But I think
my favorite things in the buffet today,
the steak, the lechon, all the grilled
fish. Amazing. I do feel there was a lot
of wow factors in this buffet, like the
ginormous tuna, all the giant whole fish
that's sitting up there. And of all
those, the salmon was definitely the
best one. The dessert's good, the
mango's delicious. I have to say,
though, unfortunately, there were quite
a few seafood items that were a little
too dry, was sitting out way too long. I
mean, I guess if there's not enough
people here, that's a problem that's
very hard to solve because if nobody's
eating the food, you want to waste the
food. I think overall, it's a pretty
good buffet. I think I would have liked
to try it on different theme nights to
see what it's like. So maybe next time.
I do want to give a special thank you to
all the staff that works here. Everybody
is just so incredibly nice and
attentive. Like every time I come back,
my water glass is filled, my juice glass
is filled, dirty plates taken away like
every single time. And they brought me
the mangoes. It's the nicest thing ever.
And make sure to get a cappuccino at the
end. That is delicious. Oh, totally
forgot about the rice cakes. Be right
back. Get some
pico. This is awesome.
Bo and cappuccino. That's a really good
combination.
I think I've pretty much been to all the
major buffets that I really wanted to go
to here in the Philippines. If there's
another one that you guys think I should
be going to, let me know in the comments
below. And that wraps up another all you
can eat buffet review here in the
Philippines. As always, the information
for this place listed down below for you
guys. Thank you all so much for
watching. Until we eat again, see you
later. This is so I went to pay and they
this never happened to me before, but
they said that if I sign up for the
Shanganger Awards, I get 25% off my
bill. That sounds like a great deal. I I
read about it a lot where people talk
about I just never experienced it. So,
yeah. 25% off. Nice.
