Oh, I'm going to show you guys the cute
way to eat this. Ready? Wow. Is her
chopstick skills. Oh my god. I don't
know what part of the beef that it's
called, but I don't like it.
You like the Chinese baddies that come
here? I do. I do. I do. I love like the
jasmine. It's not too strong on the
stomach. First thing I notice is the
roast. It's got some nice roast that you
don't see in jasmine tea a lot. And I
could make an exception today. Right.
And your dad's from Hong Kong, so you
should love Jango, right? All right,
what do we got? What are you starting
with? Chinatown goes by many names.
Tongyangai, Tangan, Bario Chino, Koti,
Chukugai, Chinatown. But no matter the
country or province that it's in, it's
usually hardworking immigrants overd
delivering value. So this series never
seems to stop because New York never
seems to stop and Chinese people never
stop working. Along with the help of my
fun, eclectic group of friends, I
explore the new Chinatown culture or the
everchanging Chinatown scene. Hit that
like button and let's
go. Chinatown cheap
eats. Anyways, uh our first spot is
Dimum Sam. Just recently opened on
Bowery. They have another location by
Union Square. These people do Hong Kong
food. Okay, so upon entering Dim Sam.
Yo, it's kind of crazy in here and it's
very packed. But Steph, what do you see?
It looks like there's like two different
restaurants. Like there's a bakery and
then there's like your order counter.
have your frozen uh dumplings. You can
buy like frozen dim sum. All right,
everybody. This is a packed dim sum Sam.
Honestly, the vibes are very Hong Kong,
man. How cramped it is, it feels like
Hong Kong. I think this is the only
weakness of the spot because I think the
food's going to be good, but I think
it's a small spot. So, there's really
nowhere to sit. All this was $22,
though, which is a pretty good deal. $11
for this squiggly rice walls. Here we
go. All right. What do we got? What are
you starting with? Three treasure rice
here. Let's try the scallion
chicken. Scallion chicken got a lot of
flavor. Nah, that's crazy. That duck
looks insane. Hey everybody, I know this
video is about Asian food, but what
about Asian inspired
mattresses? My Plank mattress that I've
been snoozing on for the past 2 months
is similar to the firm mattresses in
Asia, but possibly even better. I'll
tell you why. It comes with a 120 night
sleep trial, but honestly, I'm just
keeping it. It's been amazing. It's
firm, supportive, it's flippable. It has
two sides, so it's almost like having
two mattresses in one, in my opinion,
and there is a slightly softer, cushiony
side if you want. So, it really just
fits your needs. The versatility of
flipping the mattress is so cool. It's
almost like having a reversible jacket.
Listen, mattress technology is just like
anything else in this world. It's
progressing fast. And to get the newest
tech, the newest mattress tech for 30%
off, that's a steal. I mean, you can
look back at that video of 2 months ago
when I first got the mattress, and I've
been still sleeping on it since. I mean,
look at that
cushion. Firm. Firm. I mean, you guys
see my videos. We're running around the
city. We're talking. I'm running a chili
oil brand. All this stuff requires a lot
of energy. And where do I get the
energy? From good sleep. All right. So,
if you are in the market for a new
mattress, please use my promo code in
the description down below. Trust me,
they are really confident in their
product because they're giving you the
free sleep trial. So, you could buy it,
try it, and if you really don't like it,
you can give it back, but I doubt you
will. All right, everybody, back to the
video. Got to try the hot
char. The rice roll relatively was a
little bit even better than the three
treasure rice.
Yes, I'm eating it with a fork. I know.
I
[Music]
know. Really good. Has a lot of flavor.
Very soft,
gelatinous. Little oily. Got a little
bit of kick, too, actually.
[Music]
Oh, I'm going to show you guys the cute
way to eat this. Ready? Wow.
Okay, I'm just kidding. There's no cute
way to eat this. I don't know. I always
like bone in my meat.
Yo,
yo, I took my
[Music]
samp right
here. New bite. New bite.
[Music]
That was so good. Wow, that was fire.
That was fire. I think Dim Sum is a
great new addition to Chinatown. It also
joins the likes of Dim Sum Palace on
Division Street. We got House of Joy on
Pel Street. You have a couple other
spots coming up on Ma Street. So, let me
tell you this. Cantonese dim sum food is
back in Chinatown, baby.
Our next spot is Lanzo Moria or Lanzo
beef noodles. This is my new best friend
over
here. Pulling the noodles. Got a lot of
dough. Oh, look. There's a little candy,
too. Let's go.
All right. We're here with Nina. Nina,
you work here? Hi. Yeah, I'm working
over here. Tell us tell us about the
smart 1915 Lo beef noodle. This is
really good. Come here.
Okay. Oh, okay. What should we order?
Just like one of the most popular. Uh,
this is our number one. Number two,
number three. This What do you
personally like, Nina? Oh, this is my
love. Okay. We get the signature Lonzo
Nur. It's very traditional way. It's a
very smell. It's so good. Okay. All
right. Let's get it. Let's get it. Um,
and then also, what does 1915 mean? Oh,
1915 in China in London is a small town
but it's a very very have a long history
about the culture about the noodle is
the number one cause the make food and
this langel hand p noodles in lango is
in 1950 is the first shop ah yes the
long history since 1915 they've been
stretching all right let's move see so
what you can see is like clearly His
delts and his back muscles are very,
very strong because he's got to be
lifting it with his shoulders, right? Oh
my gosh, look at that. I bet he could do
mad pull-ups. No, that's a huge That's a
lot of dough. Oh my Oh my gosh. I want
him to do this with my
hair. Like, look how pretty the braid
is. Yo, Steph, you've been saying some
real suggestive stuff lately, man. I
don't know what you're thinking or where
your head's at, but you You're just
hanging out. Kids are watching this. All
right. What he's doing right now is
pulling the prism noodle. If you stare
here, there's seven different types of
noodles that you can choose from. And I
asked for the prism noodle cuz she said
Lonzo, that's very special. So, I don't
know if I've ever had it. Maybe I have,
maybe I haven't. So, I just got to I
just got to wait until I see it, man.
But I will tell you this, that man has a
lot of everyday strength. You know, you
want to talk about calisthenics, like
rock climbing strength. Do you see his
forearms? She peep the fork. Oh my god.
All right. So, for $14.99, we have a
traditional Lonzo beef noodle soup. And
the cool thing about Lonzo beef noodle
soup is it's defined by five different
colors. So, this is how you know it's
authentic. You have the beef, you have
the clear broth, you have the chili oil,
you have the white radish, you have the
green uh leaks and cilantro and uh
onions, and then yellow noodles right
here.
We got the prism noodles. The prism
meaning what is kind of like square cut
or something almost like a diamond.
Let's try
it. M. The noodles are perfect. Super um
not super chewy actually, just chewy
enough. the the Q.
There's still a softness to it that I
think that is key. So, the beef is
sliced really thin.
So good. They got so many other stuff on
the menu, too. But I just can't order it
cuz I'm just I can only eat so much. But
Oh, I think if you like fur and you can
take a little bit more spice, you got to
check out Lonzo Lamia. And the noodles,
it's actually like triangular shaped.
So then all the broth can like get stuck
in all the grooves in here. Oh my god,
look how long that is.
Wow. Very flavorful. Doesn't look I
thought it was just going to taste like
chili oil, but it tastes really
flavorful. You can tell it's very beefy
broth. Delicious. I want to try this
beef. Yummy.
What I will say this about lamian, I
mean this lamzo uh lamian, I think it's
the next beef noodle soup. And I know
it's been popular for some years now,
but now that when you see restaurants
that specialize in it in Chinatown,
that's when you know, you know, it's
next level because there have always
been spots that specialize in it, but
there actually hasn't been a lot of
Lonzo Lamian spots around Chinatown. You
know, Nina, you got to explain what
what's what about this dish. The
handmade brazed beef noodle is really
good. Is very traditional way. And the
beef is very very best beef. And uh uh
we do the color and the noodle. Just one
noodle. We do the one noodle cost. So
this is one noodle. Yeah. One noodle.
One noodle. All right. One noodle
challenge. Can Steph find the end of the
noodle? Pick it all up without it
dropping. Big noodle. How
good is her chopstick skills? Oh my
gosh. Don't drop it.
This is crazy. This looks fake.
Oh my gosh.
Yo, how many carbs are you about to
consume today? That's
crazy. You don't have to eat the whole
thing except you do not have to eat the
whole bowl in one shot. I'm carving.
Yes.
It's different, right? Yeah. Every seven
different because our chef can do the 12
different kind of
different. So the thing is about this
thick ribbon noodles. It's so it's very
tasty but it's very dense like this. I
don't know. I
think like this is not like a soft
noodle. This is a very very um dense
noodle.
beef right here.
This bowl of noodles is very, very
tasty. I love the amount of ginger and
spices that are in this. But I'm not
going to lie, these noodles, it's like
it's like eating a resistance band.
Like you could really get a workout in
just because this so dense and just it
just stretches. Like it's not going to
break, guys. Like I don't know how how
tall we have to to do it, but you could
you could work out with this. Wait, I
thought this was funny. Fresh now or
regret later. Basically, they're telling
you that the noodles are going to cool
and harden after 15 minutes, so you
better eat it as soon as possible. He
said if not, dining in is convenient.
So, if you're taking it out, please eat
your meal as soon as possible to
preserve its quality or come another day
to enjoy it on site. Guys, here at Lonzo
1915, it's on site. It's on site if you
eat it. You have to eat it on site or
it's not going to give you the prime
ideal, you know, circumstances and the
time and everything to eat it. So, the
noodles are best if you eat it here. All
right, everybody. For my next spot on
Cheap Chinatown Eats, I am joined by
content creator and New York native
representing Indonesia, Oliver Pros.
What's up? What's up, bro? Yo, just
fresh back from Jakarta. You're about to
go back soon, but of course, you got to
make the pit stop in Chinatown. Check
out the new spots. It's One Ton Noodle
1978. This is unrelated to any other
Chinatown business. They're new to
Chinatown. Hi. Thank you. Shout out
Shout out to the fans. We got to take a
picture together next time. They're
serving up some $10 one ton noodles.
Beef brisket noodles. Oo, dude. I've
never made $10. Come on. Looks
fantastic. Yo, let's try. $10. Is that
almost Jakarta price? I mean, it's
pretty cheap. It's pretty cheap. Not
Jakarta price, but let's go. All right,
Oliver, tell me what you're feeling
right now. Like the decor. What? Brand
new. How does this feel? Very modern.
Definitely not something I'm used to
growing up in Chinatown. It's definitely
much more
clean. I It's brand new. It's a brand
new buildout. Here, guys. They have alam
hun for $10. Okay. I got to try some of
the $10 stuff. Okay. I'm going to try uh
yoko alam hunam.
Okay. And then uh what else should we
try? One other thing that you guys
recommend. We can try the one tan
noodle. One tan noodle is one noodle
soup.
So for $10. Yeah. Okay. $10 each. Right
everybody. The food has arrived. This is
my beef brisket with alam. Dude, that
looks good. Hall fun for $10. What do
you got? Yo, I got wanton noodle soup.
Classic. You can't go wrong. Okay. What
do you What do you look for in a good
one? Good wantton. I look for amazing
delicious texture. And with the broth, I
don't like it too salty. So, I'm really
hoping that it's subtle on the palette.
More subtle. Okay. What I like about
this one is like, yo, the amount of
ginger. Like look at that big piece of
ginger. That's when you know it's got a
lot of flavor. And obviously for the
tendon, it's got to be gel gelatinous,
well cooked, tender, and everything. You
know, some small would be really great
with this, man. You know what's crazy? I
forgot it. So that's that's insane for
me. But I am low on inventory. So please
go on the website. But that means it's
popular and in demand. So if you guys
haven't tried it already, you guys need
to check out Smala Sauce. The hottest
sauce in town. Thanks for the plug. I
got you. I'll pay you later.
Oh my gosh. All right.
Let me just show you what I got. This is
like that little um white part that's
almost like a I don't want to say what
the I don't know what part of the beef
that is called, but I don't like it. You
like it? I like it.
That's not for me, but that's for y'all.
Okay. Rice noodle fun right here.
Beefy, gingery. You got to give me the
breakdown of your one ton noodle soup.
texture is the perfect amount of not
crisp but you feel that slight crunch
you know what I mean in the shrimp and
it's absolutely it's not insanely hot
you know when you put a dumpling in your
mouth or wanton and you're like you want
to spit back out cuz it's way too hot
when it's way too fresh it's perfect
temperature the way it's cooked it's
very very tasty I absolutely love it I
would say for $10 no I'm keeping it for
$10 it is totally worth it spot is new
usually are blasting pop music but I I
actually asked them to turn it down cuz
it was too loud. But they're going to
turn it up after this. But honestly,
this was very much worth it. I recommend
it, guys. And also, for $12, you could
have gotten one tons in here. Yeah,
definitely. It's not weird, right? Here
you go, bro.
Bro, my hand's getting wet. Put it on
the spoon, bro. That's how you know your
boys. That's how you know your boys. All
right, everybody. Our next spot on Cheap
Chinatown Eats is a brand new cafe right
here at Confucious Plaza called Cafe DM.
Oliver, you you grew up in New York
City, but what do you know about
Confucious Plaza? I'd be lying to you if
I said I knew a lot about Confucious
Plaza, only that it's a historic
building, and it's been here for many,
many, many years. Yeah, it's actually a
housing um building that was actually
designed mostly for the Chinese
community uh for a very long time, hence
the name Confucious Plaza. But I always
thought it was funny that Confucious is
heavy out here cuz he he got a whole
plaza. There's actually a really
affordable florist there, guys. If you
need cheap flowers for your girl, get
them there. Don't tell her where it's
from. Shout out to Confucious Florence.
But anyways, let's go into Cafe
DM. All right, so this is what I picked
up. I got a Cafe DM signature. It's
actually kind of like a yin-yang
essentially, which is uh a shot of
espresso with some milk tea. Hong Kong
style milk tea.
That's good. That's good. And I I think
it's really cool that Confucious Plaza
has like this new cafe here because I
think a lot of people typically assume
Confucious Plaza very like old school
kind of like a lot of old school
businesses downstairs, but this this is
a new school one. New school guy right
here. I love this place. This place is
modern and it still has some tradition
behind it. And what's really great about
this place, they also have a bakery,
baked goods from Balthazar, which
everyone knows is a very, very famous
bakery here in New York. And I highly
recommend that if you are in the
Chinatown area, Confucious Plaza area,
you need to check out this place,
Capadium, New York City. All right,
everybody. For my next spot, I'm here
with Stephie and we're on Grand Street
and this is Joy Tea. This just opened up
and Steph, you have like a This holds a
special place in your heart. Yes. I've
only had it one time and then the the
spot by my place closed down and I'm so
happy there's one here. All right,
Chinatown got a Joy tea. Let's go
inside. All right, everybody. So, we got
our drinks here at Joy. And Joy is
actually a boba chain that started in
Brooklyn, 8th A, and now is expanding
all over the city and they do a lot of
different flavors. They have a latte.
Latte meaning that it's actually just a
milk drink. So, I got a latte, which I
usually don't usually get because I like
either tea, fruit tea, or some type of
coffee. I got a mango sticky rice drink.
So, there's I want to know what is in
here. Mango
slushie, some kind of Oh, fresh milk and
purple sticky rice. This was $7.75. This
was $850. So, not the super cheapest
drinks. Cheers.
Oh my god. Wow. The sticky rice is warm
and then the rest is really cold.
I'm not going to
lie, this drink is delicious, but it's
essentially a dessert. This is a dessert
right here. We're drinking dessert.
Oh [ __ ]
[Music]
Oh my god. These drinks are decadent. Oh
my god. This is like tongen but like in
a drink. Yeah. Form. Like the, you know,
the Chinese dessert. Yeah. the sesame
ball where it's just blended up except
in a bunch of
milk. All right, guys. Joy on Grand
Street. New drink spot. New addition
milky drinks. Very tasty. This mochio
sesame is like the Chinese cookies and
cream.
And this is like the Thai mango sticky
rice in liquid
form that you eat out of a straw or
Yeah. Take it for what it is, guys.
That's what you're getting here. It's
good. And Joy also has eggy waffles with
all these really cool flavors like black
sesame, which we just had. And there's
Biscoff mochi flavor. And this one, I
want to try this seaweed pork
floss. Yay. So, we got eggy waffles.
This one is the biscoff mochi. And this
one is the seaweed pork floss one.
This is actually a very special item
that Joy does offer. So, I felt like I
could make an exception today. Right.
And your dad's from Hong Kong, so you
should love Gina now, right?
Oo, chewy soft. They call it mochi
because uh I can feel like the mochi
inside. It's like it it's soft on the
outside but a little bit more firm on
the inside.
Does this one have mochi in it? M. Yeah,
it does.
It's actually kind of good. I'm ripping
off the biscoff. Here we go. Bisoff
gdansai carb blow baby about to go run
the half a half marathon right
now.
Oh. Oh, this is subtle. But I taste that
biscoff almost like it feels like
there's syrup in this. This one's easier
to eat cuz it's more common. Like it's
more fits within your palette. It's
soft, chewy, and kind of sweet. A little
bit cookie like. What's up, man? Peace
out. What kind of monster eats it like
this? You don't eat the each and you
took a bite of it. How do you eat your
Kit Kat bars? You just like bite them
down the middle. You don't break it
off. I can't even look at this.
I just want people to understand me,
guys. Look, look, look, look what I got.
Isn't it so cute? There's peach on it.
Okay, wait. This This is how Andrew eats
chianga, you guys. Oh my god, I'm going
to hate it already. Ready?
Oh my god. Kevin, wait. Wait. What was
so wrong with that? What? This is evil.
Who does this? Oh my god. I just sinned.
I'm not a monster. I'm not a monster.
Okay. I I feel like if you can Oh my
god, that's horrible. I I don't waste
food like that. Okay. I think you got to
eat gansai just how however it tastes
good. Break it off. Sure. See that?
That's what the lines are
for. Look at this. You think you're
teaching me a lesson right now? You
think you're schooling me on something?
You think you're putting me on game?
All right, everybody. For my next spot
on Chief Chinatown Eats, I'm joined by
local actor friend Matt Le Young. Yo
Matt, how's it going? You live in
Chinatown. Have you ever seen a boba
shop so hyped? I haven't. And you know
what? It wasn't even one year until
Chicha San Chang right around the
corner. You know that bubble tea with
the that rope handle? Yeah. Artsy brand
from Taiwan. They held the crown for
less than a year. Now we got Molly T.
Dude, Molly T is killing it, guys. Uh
the first location in America was in
Flushing. They're doing crazy numbers.
And obviously the line is here. Uh very
female focused, very
pretty, like you know, all pink. Almost
looks like uh you know, the fashion kids
would like it. Yeah. What can you tell
by the usual line of the people who line
up that try to drink this? Let's get a
closer look. All right. So, you can see
uh you got the Molly store here. All
right. You got some cool like Xiaoong
shoe type couple there. He's got the
curly hair and the perm. Uh, very small
stall, no sitting room, no nothing, but
kind of got the luxury logo. Kind of
looks like a LV logo. Literally has the
LV print. And of course, got to have the
A rating to match. All right, everybody.
I'm
8223. Uh, I got some ways to go.
Wow. How do you feel working at the
number one boba spot?
Got a little spillage there. This is
crazy. Look at these. They got different
lanes for numbering. They're turning out
so many drinks here. Oh my god.
All right, Matt. We got our drinks. Uh
back says Oriental Aesthetics. You guys
let me know how you feel about that.
Whatever. That is crazy. While you do
this, also tell us about the movie that
you got coming out that you're Okay.
Yeah. So, we got Forage just debuted at
South by Southwest. Got a stad cast. I
mean, Kelly Marie Tran, she's got a lot
of stuff coming out this year, including
the wedding banquet. We got this movie,
Forge 2, coming out. But most
importantly, you're featured in the Chef
Chinatown Eats part 23. Let's do that.
First thing I notice is the roast. It's
got some nice roast that you don't see
in jasmine tea a lot. Now, jasmine tea
isn't always like known as the most
premium tea, but here I could definitely
feel that the same effect I get from
like a really good premium hoji cha, and
I get that here, too. So, and it it's
actually cold, too. So, don't be fooled
by the uh the hot cup here. I got the
pistachio white Champaka cocoa. $6 each.
Is the tea worth the hype?
Is it worth the hype?
I'm going go ahead and say it is worth
trying, but it's not necessarily
mind-blowing. But what's mindblowing is
the branding. Guys, come to Molly Tea.
That's where all the kids are at. Look,
the the most stylish boba line in
history is at Molly Te. All right, our
next spot is Noodle Village on M Street.
And this is not the old location down on
the bend of Mont Street. This is up on
like the canal side. now side of M
Street, newer location, bigger, still
has that nice like fishy shrimp smell
from the broth cuz they do really good
one ton noodles here. But uh yeah, we
got to check it out. I mean, you live
like right next to here. Yeah. So, this
is the uh other side of where I live.
But my first thought is Noodle Village
was always known amongst my friends for
the spot to go to when everyone had
different tastes. But they do they do
this at a four to five level for almost
every dish. Oh, you mean like they kind
of have the different regional dishes,
sort of. All right, everybody. We're
here at Noodle Village. You got all
different generations here. You have
their famous shaolong pao uh here.
That's super clear broth. And no, it did
not break. So, shout out to them. Still
keeping the quality up. Here you have
the gal alam, the curry beef brisket,
which is also another popular one. I
like the feel of this. You know, I don't
really have to look at the beef brisket.
I just need to feel the beef brisket.
Yeah. Yeah, that's a good one. And then
here I got it with the uh side of uh
basically one ton noodles, you know,
which is kind of like a fishy shrimpy
broth, which you can kind of smell when
you hit the restaurant. So this was $15.
This is $10. Is a classic. You always
got to get it. Let me just try this real
quick. Even with the little curry that I
got on my
chopsticks. Little vinegar bath real
quick. Yeah. There we go. There's a lot
of juice retention there. Oh man. Hold
up.
M
cleanest shaom broth. It almost is so
clean. It almost tastes like this broth.
Oh, and look what we got here. Oh,
shoot. Oh, the bullseye. I I heard that
it was going to take 25 minutes, but it
it got done a lot quicker.
So, they express made it for us. This is
the fastest bullseye phone. All right.
How about the lip? Wow.
That's steamed. That was Matt's call
with the pywut. I probably would have
got chicken. Piglet's good, too. That's
the soy sauce. That's the sauce for the
rice. We got some special. See, you did
it right. It wasn't going to look like
that if I didn't. Put some oil in there.
Okay. There's some art to that. And it's
still sizzling right now. Right.
Sizzling on the pot. That's crazy.
Okay. Okay. All right. All right. You
got All right.
All right. A lot going on. You got to
pour the soy sauce. You got to mix it.
But be careful or else the bowl's going
to tip over and burn. Andrew, tell us
what was going on about the clay pot
deposit. I got it. I got it. I got it.
There we go. I got to thank Andrew first
of all for coming on board with the
bullseye pond. Okay, we got For those
who don't know, it's a clay pot rice.
What the main attraction here is this
crispy outside. Look at this right here.
You hear that crinkle? All right, we got
Look at that. Oh my god. Let me get the
ASMR crack. Okay.
All right. You get this. Those who have
Korean food, you get this in sundubu
clay pot rice, too. You get this here.
There's a reason why they make it here.
Okay. Tell me how good it is compared to
what you
thought. Nostalgic. My first stop. This
reminds me of Is the rice getting stuck
in your teeth now? Cuz you know how the
crispy rice gets stuck into place. So,
let me get this rice.
Oh man, that's good. I'm going to go for
the curry beef. This is my favorite
takeout from Noodle Village. Like I
said, they're good at they're pretty
good at every dish. So, let's see how it
is. This is called nwam, right? In
Cantonese. Now, when you hear Curry,
don't worry. Matt is a third generation
ABC. That's why he's questioning, but he
lives in China. Been in Chinatown since
2015. Mhm.
I like it. It's
It If you look closely, you got a lot
You could tell they use the right
spices, the right flavoring. The tender
the tender beef, it's got still got that
melt in your mouth flavor, but I'm
trying to see if I think the sauce is
the main feature. I think that's my
favorite part about it. They really
upgraded the design. The owner just told
us he put a lot into the, you know,
interior. What's your favorite spot in
Chinatown? One of them. It's my favorite
spot to go to when everyone's like, I
don't know what to eat. This covers it.
This is a tour of underground Chinatown,
back when gangs ruled the streets in the
80s and '9s. It is the Flying Dragons
former headquarters, an illegal gambling
house. You can still see the holes in
the floor from the slot machines. The
original security cameras are still
here, too. How's it going, Steph? How's
it going? What'd you get?
What'd you get? What'd you get? I got um
premium jasmine
milky 70% sugar less ice cuz they
recommended it. I'm excited.
8612. That's our number. What' you guys
order? We got a jazz tea and a matcha
tea. Matcha. What brings you to Molly
tea? Why is it looks so cool? Why is it
so trendy? I don't know. I got a once in
flushing. It was pretty good. So, came
back. Do you like the Chinese baddies
that come here? No, I got a girl. I
can't say. I do. I do. I do. I do.
Chinese baddies. Yeah. Yeah. Chinese
batties. Yeah. Yeah. At at the designer
boba. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The designer
boba. It's really good. I love like the
jasmine whipped team. It's really
refreshing. I love the flavor. It's not
too strong on the stomach. It's not as
popular as Haiti. So, like the vibe, the
lines aren't that long. And it's just as
good. Are you sure it's not just cuz it
looks good and it's designed like it
tastes, you know, it looks cool. No, it
tastes good too. That's what I like.
Mhm. But it does look cool. It does look
really cool. I love the design. All
right, everybody. That's why people love
Molly tea. I think it's just cuz it
looks cool. I'm just kidding. It's good.
Wait, you have a fan. Oh. Oh, hi. Right
here. Hello. Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. Nice to
meet you. Hi. Nice to meet you. Yeah,
this is Andrew. Yeah, we just You get
Molly tea. Yeah. I wasn't sure. Oh,
yeah. Yeah, that's us. That's us.
That is me. Okay. You should come here
more often. Everyone loves you here.
This is so fragrant. Super
jasminey. Not very sweet, but I like it
like
that. Wow. It tastes like very high
quality. Is that why it's called premium
jasmine? Okay. Where does Molly tea
stand in the boba wars? Well, I don't
think it counts as boba cuz there's no
boba in here. It's just milk tea.
That makes sense. I It tastes really
relaxed. Very like designer looking.
Um I don't
know. Elegant. Molly T. De
Ma. Molly T. De M.
Yep. So, we are at Luna Cafe cuz I saw
this on Andrew's video in the past and I
really wanted to try this like taro
thing that he had. So, now we're here.
Taro stuff. Ooh, yummy. It says pong.
That means it tastes good but you won't
get fat. Is that true? Is this real cow?
Is that real cows? Let's get that. No.
Okay. Well, at least it still tastes
good, right? They're lying to us. One
cool thing about Luna Cafe is they now
have the kind of like steamed rices.
It's almost like what you would get in a
boaton in a clay pot rice except just
not in a clay pot rice. You have the
sausage and chicken. And ah, I actually
want to eat these, but I got so much
more food to go. I'm so excited. I got
the taro things I chose. I'm such a
tarot girl. I always get um taro milk
tea. This is the matcha taro bun with
matcha crust. Look how pretty that is.
It's so soft. Here we
go. That's so
pretty. Oh my gosh. So
stretchy. It's like a bow but with
matcha and carro. You got to put
subtitles on this. the lying bang like
to eat it and you won't get fat taro
cake or she said it's called
non so pretty
oh my god such an awkward angle oh my
god so much taro paste in here I love
you reassurance
now I know why it's called naong cuz
it's like cold which one do you like
better I think I like this one wow
But this one's so good. But this one
lied to me, so I don't know.
This is a good one. Definitely top this
one. This taro road cake right here.
There's like too much taro in that a
little bit. It's like straight up fully
solid taro. I think it's a little bit
much for me. So that's why I think the
matcha bun is a great balance to get
both flavors in there. Green and purple.
These two things together about $13. But
obviously you have a whole lot of cake
here to share. This matcha and terror
bun is probably better than the bow in
my opinion. It's so good. Whoa. Did you
just say that crazy hot tank? You better
chill, Steph. Better chill on that.
All right. Where's the trash? Where's
the trash? Here it says trash. Oh my
gosh. What
up? Yo. Yo, I know that dude. He on the
bike. He's a good He's He's a hooper.
Anyways, next spot on Cheap Chinatown
Eats. We're over in kind of like
Chinatown Extended. Well, it's getting
taken over. It's called Dime Square.
Yes, I understand for sure. This used to
be really Chinatown cuz there's linky
beef jerky right there. But now it's
kind of like a hipster zone that they
close off. Anyways, that aside,
objectively speaking, it's kind of a
nice vibe out here. But yeah, it's not
necessarily fully my crowd, but I hang
out here sometimes. Anyways, no gem is
here. This used to be a Korean bowl spa
called Sobach, but the owner merged with
the space next to him and it became a
nice Asian inspired cafe with a lot of
Korean goods and a lot of the uh
ceramics are from Korea. So, let's check
it out. All right. Here at No Gem, what
stands out to me is the Inomi Cream
Espresso and then the Yuzu Espresso.
Which one should I get? Oh, no. Okay.
Sorry. Sorry. Which one should I get?
Um, those are our two top drinks, man.
Really? All right, everybody. I've just
got my vegan injomi cream espresso.
Okay, I'm not going to lie. It was $8,
but the quality is there. Okay, so I'm
going to drink it as is with the cream
on top. Inomi, uh, it's it's like a soy
like a ground soy powder from Korea.
Really cool ingredient. I like it a
lot.
M. Ooh. Okay. Okay.
salty soy. Has a little bit of that
roasted
flavor. It's the topping on top of a of
a
Americano. Wow. Hey guys, um I'm going
to say this. They're adding something
new to Dime Square. These uh people out
here at Times Square, I mean Dime
Square, they really need to try this
because uh No Gem is providing something
very different. And I enjoy that, man. I
mean, look at this view.
Look. Okay, it was $8, but listen, it's
tasty. M
espresso. Thank you so much for
watching. Chinatown literally does not
stop moving. Sometimes it may feel like
it shrinks, then it feels like it
expands, but the truth is it's always
changing. I overall believe it bounced
back from being a ghost town during CO,
but that doesn't mean every restaurant
lasted, but I bet that something took
its spot. How do you feel about where
Chinatown, New York, and Chinatowns in
general are heading? Is the $8 boba too
much? How are one ton noodles still $10
at a sitdown spot? How do you explain
this sorcery? Let me know in the
comments down below. Until next time,
I'm
