Hi! I’m Crystal, a wife and mom to 4 kids. We also have a dog named Charlie. I love to shop, share home decor, DIY home projects, mom life, and more! We just built a new home in the Midwest and enjoy sharing parts of our life with you! Thanks so much for being a part my channel. 💜
Hello my friends, good morning, it is Crystal. Welcome back to my channel. The sun is out,
it looks like it is a beautiful day outside. Yesterday was windy, rainy, we even had,
I don't even know if it was hail technically or if it was sleet, but just we've had all
all of the weather this past month and so it's just really nice to see some sunshine
and no wind outside for a change. But I thought for today's video I would do some Easter
decorating. Easter has really snuck up on me this year. I'm still decorating our house for spring,
however with Easter coming up here this Sunday, we're hosting, I wanted to just add in a little
bit of decor around the house, mainly for the kids. We are having some family over but all of
my seasonal decorating I do, it's always for the kids. So I have a tiered tray that we're going
to be decorating today. It's a tray that I think I'll display on our kitchen island for the next
week or so. And then I also have this cookie recipe that I want to try as well, Cadbury egg
cookies that looks amazing. So I also want to bake those so the kids can have them after school
and we'll see what else we can get into today. But first I've been straightening up the living
room a little bit. I wanted to show you the couple of updates I've made since my last video when I
was out here spring decorating. Minor detail for this area of the living room, I actually switched
the like darker charcoal more pillow to the corner instead of right in the middle and I like that a
little bit better. It doesn't draw your attention to this middle area as much anymore. Love to find
a lumbar size pillow, has to be a decent size though. Some of my other ones are just too small
but something to go there that's a different shape, texture, color. So that's something that
I'm on the hunt for but other than that I'm very happy with how this all came together.
And then to my shelves I have not touched anything over here. This side I was like, oh I kind of
want to add or change a couple of things. So I minor changes, you probably don't even notice them
but I ended up removing one of the vases that went with this one. I could probably shift this
over a little bit so just less decor on that shelf. And then I pulled this family photo off
of the wall and placed it here just to see if I liked how it looked. It's not like anything too
distracting, it's very simple and basic but I feel like it just fills the shelf a little bit more
and then it complements the art that I have on that side. So I took that off the wall which
kind of opened a can of worms. Definitely feels good though to have this decorated and ready to go.
I have my office yet that has been a huge dumping ground for everything that I haven't used. I just
put it on the shelves and I'm like, we'll get to it at some point. So probably won't be this week
but next week we'll do a little office decorating I'm thinking. And then by that time it should be
nice enough where we can actually get outside, maybe decorate the porch or I think we might
start with the back deck actually just because we're really anxious to get our furniture out
there and start enjoying it. So that'll be coming up. So exciting stuff, warm weather is on the way
but today we're going to focus on Easter. I found one Easter bin, I think I have another one.
I need to go look. I thought I had two. Okay, yep I did have two which means I need to get rid of one.
I don't really decorate as much as I used to with all the bunnies and things
so I hope I'll do that today. I did not buy any new Easter decor this year. I looked at a bunch
of things but I'm like, you know what? I know I have plenty at home and we're only doing a tiered
tray most likely and a few other spots around the house. I didn't really feel the need to
buy anything. I don't know. So what I did buy though, a new tiered tray. You can kind of see it
in the background I think. That's what I'm going to be styling with you today. Let me grab it but
you can see so it's unfortunately it's a little bit too tall to go under kitchen cabinets. However
I'm going to be using it on our island so it works out, gives me a little bit of height which
I need. So yeah, let me show it to you though. It's so cute. Look at the scale of detail on this
and the dark wood color. It's so pretty. Normally $50, I think I paid what $40 for it so not bad
for a nice staple item. The thing about scallops is yes, they're great in spring and summer but
I mean there's no rules saying you cannot use this year round. I had to go switch out my camera
battery really quick but I'm really excited to have this tiered tray in my collection.
Yeah, it's so beautiful. So we're going to style that today but before I do that I wanted to say
thank you to FabFitFun for sponsoring this video. I love FabFitFun. I've actually been a customer of
I had to log in and actually check at least four years. It feels like it was longer. I think maybe
I switched my profile up but at least February 2021 is what my profile said. So it's definitely
something that I look forward to every single season. My summer box is here. I wanted to share
a little bit more about it and what I chose for summer. Here it is though. Are you excited? I know
I am. I picked out some fun things for summer. Also, I have a teenage daughter. She loves when I
get this stuff. There's usually something in there that she feels like she needs to steal from me.
So FabFitFun is a lifestyle subscription box where you receive six items on a quarterly basis. So
four times a year from top brands in like beauty, home, lifestyle, fitness. There's just a wide
range of things. All the things that I love honestly. So it's like perfect. But I think the
specific part that I love the most is that I get to choose the items out of you know what's available.
So I know that it's something that I'm going to use and enjoy or it's something that I've always
wanted to try. So it's really fun. It's fun to look through and see what options are available
and when it arrives it's just a fun surprise as well because it's like okay I think I remember
what I chose but here we go. So let's open the box. See what I got. So this is the summer one. So
of course it's going to be geared towards summer specific items. Oh it's pretty. Look at that.
They always have cute boxes too. 50th box. Oh my gosh. Okay now. Oh yes this is a good one.
So here's how it looks. I'm going to start with the first item that I chose for my box. So this
is the Show Me Your Moo Moo paper and straw tote bag. Oh my goodness. I love this. So it has like this white
detail to it. This is totally my style by the way. It lies flat. So great for like packing in a
suitcase or travel and I think I love it the most because it has a zip top.
So there's the inside of it. Love this so much. This is actually valued at $68 and I was drawn to
this because one I've never bought anything from this brand and two this basically is the value of
the entire box. $69.99 I think is what the whole box is and this is valued at $68. So everything else
is like a bonus. The next item is like sticking out of the box and I must grab it.
I chose the Swell bento box in this really pretty pink color. Again this is a brand I've always
wanted to try but I've never purchased and I thought this is a great opportunity. I've been
really focused on nutrition lately and just meal prepping things like that. So as we are on the
go a lot this summer with all the sports, baseball in particular, I just wanted to grab something
that I thought would be something I could use so I can meal prep and bring my meals along with me
as needed. So this is valued at $50. That's probably why I haven't ever tried this before.
Okay so the next item I chose was the Bask broad spectrum SPF 30 lotion. I love picking beauty
products when I can. Sunscreen, great time to start stocking up on it. This product alone is valued at
$30 so this will be great. Sheer vegan sunscreen. Perfect! But yeah I love choosing beauty products
for myself because I just don't like get into beauty as much as others do but I still want to
use good products and with this I can of course try them all but then they're full size so they're
not like a dinky little sample. We're getting full-size products that will last me a while.
Next item. While I'm talking about beauty, oh I love Thrive Cosmetics. I love Thrive Cosmetics.
They have this like tubing mascara that I've used for many years. Not currently but
it's amazing. So yeah this is the liquid balm lip treatment in the vanilla swirl
lip filler technology. It's beautiful. So this retails for $26.
Loving this so far. A couple of things left I think. So I've been eyeing this since I opened
the box. I think we should go through this next. Geometry. I love geometry towels. So when I saw
that they had the fitness towel as one of the options, I'm like I mean that's it. That is for
me. This is definitely going down in my gym immediately so I could use it tomorrow morning.
So I've never tried the fitness towel but the kitchen towels actually have a dish towel out
my counter right now. They're like top notch. So this retails for $20. Here's what it looks like.
This is huge. Oh it feels a lot different than what I was thinking. So all my gym towels are
microfiber. I'll be interested to see if I like this or not. It's like a pink and blue swirl.
This is big. It's larger than I thought. So absolutely give me all the geometry.
Last item. Spoon rest I believe is what this is. I don't need my box opener. Is it? Yeah spoon rest.
Trying to, I need more spoon rest in our kitchen especially when we're entertaining and like family
will bring over different dishes to try. I just find that I don't have enough. I think this is the
second spoon rest that I've chose from FabFitFun. So we're slowly growing our collection here.
This is the year and day spoon rest. It's in this beautiful like bluish color. Made in Portugal.
Oh it's really pretty. It's a fun color especially for spring and summer.
This spoon rest retails for $36. $36. I mean what a great box. I'm just like looking here at everything
and all of it. Amazing. I think Macy is probably going to ask to steal this for her school lunches
which is totally fine. So very excited to try all of these items. Now every FabFitFun box is about an
average value of around $350 worth of product. So it's just so neat. They have a couple of
different membership options as well. So you can either do the seasonal membership where you pay
each quarter $69.99. Now they also have an annual membership where you save I want to say it's $60
by paying up front $219.99. That's the one I do and then the boxes come out to about $55 a quarter.
So just a fun treat to try and you get all of these products as well. So the value is definitely
there but I'll have a link down below in the description box as well as a QR code on the screen.
So if you sign up for the annual membership use my code it's crystal gift that's going to score
you a free gift of over $200 with your FabFitFun box. So yeah I just love it and I'm so excited
that I was able to share it with you today. I've been searching through my Easter beds pulling out
small things for my tiered tray but I came across a few things I know the kids are going to be
excited about. So the first thing Marcy she's been a subscriber for a while. She lives local actually.
She made these eggs one year for the kids and they colored them with markers. These are like
their favorite eggs to hunt for around the house and then I also came across this egg mazing.
So I think I'm going to cook some eggs this afternoon so they can use this tonight. It's a
really easy way for them to decorate Easter eggs and this should be fun. Hopefully it still works.
I can't imagine it doesn't so I think I can't remember if I bought that last year or the year
before. Then I also came across some towels that I want to wash so I can start using in the kitchen
probably for Easter and then I mean we can use them after Easter as well.
And then a table runner maybe for Easter Sunday I will use that. I think my tiered tray will go
right here. I might move this to the table behind our couch for now. That's what we're going to do.
Fruit I might move to the pantry. I don't know I don't like to wood things together. It'd call me
weird but I like to separate them so this might go to the pantry which is probably good anyways.
So I pulled out a bunch of things to get started on the tray. Now I did buy some Easter candy but
it's almost gone to fill some of these containers so I actually think after I decorate it I'm going
to stop at a store while I pick up the kids from school and I'll grab a few things to go in there.
I just have to decide I guess what colors I want to do but I know Easter candy will be a huge hit
with not only our kids but also adults on Easter so we'll see what I can find but let's get started
with decorating. This carrot patch sign comes out every year. You all know this. I bought this on
Etsy so many years ago. I actually don't even think this Etsy shop is still in business but
it's just one of my favorite. It's probably my favorite piece of Easter decor as crazy as that
sounds so you know this will always have a place on my tiered trays. Okay so this piece is taller
than a lot of my other tiered trays so my sign I feel like needs a little something to it.
This is from Walmart a few years ago. Just a little egg crate. I think I might tilt that right there.
We'll play around with it. Okay I have my little Target bunny mug. These are adorable. I actually
don't care to drink drinks out of them because they're just awkward. I don't feel like my coffee
stays warm very long so I like to use them more for decor than anything. I might just put him right here.
And I have these like wooden measuring spoons I went and grabbed. They're from Hobby Lobby
most likely. I kind of like them. It's just the same color wood as it's around my sign.
So to pull them together. Oh my goodness yes I have to use this. We're doing a carrot patch
theme. I thrifted these little baskets one year and they're just the cutest thing. I think I'm
down. I only saved like four now but I just love the little carrots inside. I think these were from
Hobby Lobby. I don't know. I just pulled it out of my bins and it was like this so I probably had
this on my tray last year but I don't care. So cute. I think it needs to go right by the sign.
I think I want to do some candy. Easter candy on the top. Maybe in the back. I'm afraid it might not
fit though. It's too wide so we're going to put on something to rise it up. This canister is from
Hobby Lobby. This is just an old candle lid. I just save it for times like this where I need to
elevate something. That'll work. Yay it does. Okay so this is a Target dollar spot I think
or Hobby Lobby. I can't remember but he's so cute with the bunny ears. So we'll find something I
think candy related we'll put in here. What would you put in here? This is big. Like we don't want
to overdo it with candy because the kids will get so much in their basket and from grandma and
grandpa but I do want to have some element of that on here. That's just fun. Maybe some cookies.
I don't know. We'll find some cute stuff. I have this basket of eggs. Where are you from?
My guess would be Hobby Lobby on this basket. I've had this for a long time. These eggs.
Hobby Lobby probably. I don't know. Like I said all these things I'm using are
older. Okay you don't want to fit in here either. Do we need to make you go up? All right I think I
might need a little little boost there. Hold on. I have this like wood slices. Do we need two of them?
Yeah that should work. So you see I have white here, white here. So opposite sides. I almost
put it here but try to break up the different colors. I have these are actually I think Christmas
bowls from Target. They're really bright green. Like I usually don't use them outside of Christmas
but I was looking in my drawer like oh these would be kind of cute to play off the green
of the carrot stems. I don't know where that's gonna go but we'll put it right there for now.
Favorite cloches. We're bringing them back. Favorite time of year would be probably Easter
to use these. Although I don't want to put candy in this because the kids will try to open it
to get the candy and it'll go everywhere. So I need to think of something to put in my cloche.
Could be a bunny. Could be just more carrots. I don't want to do more eggs. They already have
eggs. So I'll think of something for here. I have this bunny from Hobby Lobby. He's very heavy.
Had him for years. I don't know what he's made out of but one of my favorites. I'm trying to use a
lot of my favorite items here. Let's see. Okay carrots. Maybe I'll put carrots on the cloche
and then we can put some I'm thinking carrots in there but
maybe I do. These are just like green velvet carrots from Hobby Lobby. I need to grab more of them.
Macy got this for Christmas for me. This is hearth in hand. I like the color of it. Like with the
carrots it's like a peachy color. Peachy blush but more peach I'd say. So it feels more like a garden.
Old old hearth and hand plant. I went crazy when they had these. I have a lot of them.
Maybe we tuck that in somewhere. I want it to feel like a carrot patch. Could be cute.
And I also saw I had this little like napkin ring with bunny ears. It's like oh I feel like I need
to use him. I just love gingham for spring. I thought maybe if I tuck it in here. I might need
to put you down but have little bunny ears coming out might be kind of cute. So I'm gonna play around
with this but yeah I just have a bunch of random things that we can add to the tray too. I mean I
could put that there but blocks my sign. Yeah we need some carrots back here so maybe I'll put him
right there but I'm thinking we find some probably more neutral colored Easter candy to fit into
these. So like chocolate bunnies I think would be adorable. It's hard to tell but my tear tray is
like going under the light. It's like it was meant to be but we are to be continued until I can get
to the store and get some chocolate probably to add. I'm thinking like chocolate covered bunnies
like I said and you know those like chocolate covered marshmallow eggs. Oh those are my favorite
or even white peeps like I do want to keep it neutral. I know I'm boring but when I get back
we'll show you the finished look but I did fill in. Oh don't look at my sink. All the gaps and
things like that. I'm gonna take care of that here next but after I eat lunch and take care of the
dishes we are going to bake these Cadbury egg cookies. Don't those look so good? Never made
them before but we were looking through this cookbook a couple of weeks ago and tried a
different recipe. I'm like you know what we're gonna try these too. Progress is being made so I
have lunch going, not lunch, dinner actually in the crock pot. It's lunchtime but I just did my
barbecue chicken again and so that's going so that'll be nice to have for dinner and then I
have eggs cooking in my favorite little dash egg cooker. Now I need to take care of the dishes in
the sink but in order to do that I need to unload the dishwasher and it seems like whenever I go to
put something in the dishwasher it's like clean and needs to be unloaded every time. It's like
okay so we're gonna do that quick and then I'll eat but oh baking cookies. I get to show you my
early Mother's Day gift. I got it last week and I was supposed to wait but I couldn't wait so
we're gonna bake cookies with my new little gift. Not little gift, big gift, big big gift
but it's like it's amazing so I'm excited to use it. I just don't want to do the dishes.
I just don't want to. You all definitely keep me accountable so that's good.
I mean I get stuff done when I have the camera out. Okay.
Also one of my superpowers, I don't want to brag but I can really pack a dishwasher full like
I can always find a spot for something which is great when you're going to like you know
load it and hit start but then when it's time to empty it's like
why did I put so much in here? This is gonna take me forever.
Random fun fact. So this is a KitchenAid zester. I think that's what you would call it. I was
unloading the dishwasher and this reminded me. This I actually got in my spring FabFitFun box.
It is officially cookie time so I have already gotten started a little bit. I crushed up the eggs.
I said not to disintegrate them but just to get them you know chopped up a little bit so we have
those all ready to go. I'm going to follow this recipe. I'll link the cookbook and it's on page 131
if you are interested in this recipe. I'm sure it's probably available online. I'm going to follow
the recipe to a tee basically except for I'm not going to add the flaky sea salt on the top. I don't
think the kids would like that. I would but I don't think they will. So yeah we're going to use my new
mixer. I am obsessed with this. This is a limited edition so I knew I needed to get it sooner rather
than later. I was so worried it was going to sell out. I first saw it last year and of course it was
just like right around the holidays. Not good timing to invest in a new mixer but I just knew
this color was meant to be. You all know I'm obsessed with green so it's like a really dark
beautiful green color. I love this like bold detail. It matches our kitchen hardware perfectly.
I feel like it was meant to be and then the bowl is like a wood oh what do they call it
like a walnut colored bowl. Now it does come with extra maintenance if you do use the bowl.
I think I mean I'll probably use the bowl every once in a while but you do have to
treat it kind of like butcher block almost and the fact that you need to
I have to buy like certain oil or something for it. I don't exactly know but in the meantime I
have all kinds of other KitchenAid bowls that I can use and then that one will be just for decor
but it was like screaming I needed color in this corner. My other mixer I still have. I plan to
keep it but it matched my old kitchen which was all stainless steel and I just don't have that here.
So yeah happy Mother's Day Crystal. Oh my gosh it's so pretty. I ordered this on Williams Sonoma
because I had some rewards that I needed to use but we use a mixer every day like I'm gonna use
it twice today one for my chicken one for my cookies and it's a permanent fixture in our kitchen
so she's beautiful. If you have a mixer let me know what color you have. My very first mixer
was bright yellow. I went through a big yellow phase and that was when I love to display like
all my fiesta and then I kind of got in my neutral. I painted in our old house you know
we painted the cabinets white and I wanted a mixer to match the appliances and that looked so good
with like our black countertops. I feel like I like to buy my mixers to match my kitchen.
Looking really good. I am actually not adding the coconut either just because I don't think
our kids would like that. My husband actually doesn't either. I'm the only one that likes
coconut as well so I don't know. I don't have anyone to lick my beater though. I might have to do it.
I had some cookie dough and it was phenomenal. I can't imagine these are gonna be bad.
They're still a little warm. The Cadbury eggs they have a little crunch more than an M&M would.
They're so good. That chocolate in the middle.
You have to make them. We are heading out. I need to pick up the kids from school and bring
them to golf so I have four cookies here. I only brought four so I can't eat one.
That wouldn't be nice if I did and then someone was left out so I have a protein bar. You know
me how we do that. While they're at golf I'm gonna quickly run to I think Walmart. Target was
very picked over last week when I was shopping for other Easter candy so I'm gonna do Walmart
and hope for the best. They had quite a bit and then we'll meet back home. I'll show you the goods
and we'll finish up the tiered tray. I'm kind of getting into the Easter thing now. I'm like oh I
should put a bunny there and there and there so probably not today but maybe later this week I'll
get the itch to add more bunnies out but today I'm really happy with the tiered tray. It's been a while.
You know some decorating can take all day and you still don't feel like you like what you did but
tiered trays I don't know they just always they hit differently. They really do. I am back from Walmart
and there was no vlogging. The aisles were packed. Four o'clock on a I don't know what I was thinking
but anyways I did grab four of these chocolate bunnies. We're gonna open them Andrew and put
them in this big canister. I grabbed these little golden eggs. I thought we could put these in the
stacked bowls right here and then I ran into Target really quick because Walmart doesn't
sell these but bunny grams for like a healthier option I suppose for the last jar right here so
we're gonna fill this up and then we'll show you the final look and then Andrew's excited
to decorate some eggs. And I'm going to sell all of these. Love the chocolate bunnies however I was for some
reason thinking you know big hollow bunny. They're pretty flat and we need like four or five more of
them to fill the canister so I might grab a few more of them. They're only like a dollar a piece
to fill up the rest of this jar but they're like the perfect size. They're very very cute.
Here's a little bunny gram update. I actually really like those. They taste so good too
and the eggs back here turned out really really cute. I'll show you the other side here.
Very cute. They did have some carrots like I don't know if they were lint but I think they were
lint carrots that would have been cute but also don't want to overdo it on the chocolate.
So fun. Andrew keeps asking can I have just one golden egg?
Oh yes.
Okay friends that's everything I have to share with you for today's video. I do not know if I
will see you before Easter so just wanted to wish you a very happy Easter. I hope you were able to
spend some time with some family or friends. Thank you so much for watching. Don't forget to check out
the FabFitFun link down below in the description box and I will see you very soon in my next video.
I'm sure we're going to get back into some spring decorating. Bye!
