Since Maddie, you talked a little bit about the difference in your game,
not being so different after all, but it was just a matter of you executing.
And I wonder if you can elaborate a little bit
on what has enabled you to hit this high level of execution
in the month of August?
I think just confidence and trusting myself.
I think I trust the work that I've done in practice.
And, you know, I hope that I can continue to translate into matches.
So I think just trusting myself, obviously, you know, have the new team
around me. So seeing a different perspective
can sometimes just change things completely.
So I think I have a new perspective and I'm enjoying it a lot.
United States, Coco Gough.
Especially in these longer rallies, she's just been consistently
going after it, did a good job of letting that ball bounce,
just taking her time.
Game, set and match, Gough.
Two sets to one, 6-3, 6-2.
A bravo performance from the six-seat Coco Gough.
Game, set and match, Gough.
Two sets to one, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Yeah, I'm just going to be ready to fight mentally and physically.
And with Jelena, I think, you know, she's a striker, a ball striker.
So I lost her an Australian Open this year.
And, you know, she's hot or cold, you know, to be honest.
So you just same thing, honestly, just staying in the match.
And, you know, I might get some more free points from her,
the more so than Igo. Maybe not.
Maybe she'll hit so many winners.
So really, she's a tough opponent to both of them are tough opponents
to be ready to face.
And for a second, Gough.
20 minutes.
Yeah, 6-0, 6-2.
First women's semifinalist of the 2023 US Open is Coco Gough.
Coco's flying.
That's a lot.
That's unplayed.
The 19-year-old American is in her first US Open final.
New York, please welcome the players for the Women's Singles Championship.
Coco Gough.
She's happy she finally got the win at the net.
There it is.
The first set goes to Irina Samalenko.
Got her, got her.
That's good.
So is that. That's even better.
She's fighting so hard.
That's where it's going.
You've just won the US Open.
Coco, you burst onto the scene about four years ago.
A lot of expectations on your shoulders.
What does it mean to win your first Grand Slam title on home soil?
Oh, my goodness.
So much to me.
I'm a little bit in shock in this moment.
I just knew that if I didn't give it my all,
you know, I had no shot at winning.
Thank you first to my parents.
Today was the first time I've ever seen my dad cry.
He doesn't want me to tell you all that.
But he got caught in 4K.
