One of the advantages of watching the years go by in your life is the ability to look back and
see where you went wrong. If you look back often with a critical eye and an attitude of acceptance,
you can correct yourself along the way. Though mistakes can be painful, they are great learning
opportunities for most of us. However, if these mistakes are avoided earlier in life,
they could save you a lot of pain and heartache as an adult.
In this video, I will discuss seven terrible mistakes made in youth that will destroy your
life as an adult. So make sure you watch this video to the end to find out how you can fix them.

With that said, let's get to our video of the day.
Nobody ever sets out to ruin their own life. No one includes failure as the main objective in
their five-year life plan or as a New Year's resolution. Children do not grow up wanting to
become drug addicts. Students do not attend classes to learn how to be corrupt. Couples
don't go to the altar expecting their marriage to fail. Unfortunately, most of us don't spend
our youth making the best decisions. We only gain the necessary knowledge and wisdom in many areas
of life once it's too late. Let's look at a couple of mistakes we make in life and how to avoid them.
1. Trying to please everyone You should never try to please everyone all
the time. It's just not worth it. Not only will you start living your life according to other
people's standards, but you will also deprive yourself of any sense of fulfillment. Do whatever
makes you happy and makes you feel good. All that matters is that you do the right thing without
malice. As a young adult starting a career, being friendly with your boss, peers, and sometimes
clients is normal. However, when you discover that some dislike you, you try to gain their
favor by doing whatever pleases them, even though it means losing yourself. This is a huge mistake.
The habit of stooping low to fit in and meet other people's expectations has cut short
many promising futures. No rule guarantees that you will be liked by everyone, so it would be
best to learn how to deal with those who dislike you. What matters is that you do your thing.
Don't worry about what others think you should do. Don't let it affect the progression of your
hopes and dreams. Don't let it dampen your spirit or change your course of action if it's something
you're genuinely passionate about or have always wished to do. Don't give up on your goals and
ambitions simply because you want to make others happy. Your family's happiness is important to
some extent. So is the happiness of your friends. But certainly not to the point where you start
giving up everything you've ever wanted and hoped for. It is not your responsibility, nor is it
within your power to make others happy. So don't succumb to peer pressure or societal pressures.
Please yourself first. What matters is that you are doing what makes you happy.
And if you are acting with good intentions, you should never feel sorry for it.
2. Neglecting Your Body Health is wealth is a statement that most
of you are familiar with, though only some often take it seriously. One of the worst life mistakes
you can make is neglecting your body regularly. As young adults, we tend to believe we are
invincible. We are energetic, and our bodies often respond to commands with ease. For instance,
you can quickly gain or shed weight. Furthermore, external factors hardly ever have an impact on
your life. It's amazing. However, as we age, and these physical features begin to deteriorate,
we realize how essential it is to take care of ourselves. Good health does involve not only the
absence of diseases within the body, but also a complete mental, physical, social, and spiritual
welfare of an individual. You should be responsible for your health and take care of it by switching
to a healthy lifestyle. To do this, you must be willing to give up some of your bad habits
and adopt new ones that will benefit your health. For example, you have to be conscious of what you
consume. You can have that piece of cake you crave, but you should also eat plenty of fresh
vegetables and fruits. This keeps your body nourished, strong, and ready to face whatever
comes your way. Another healthy habit you can develop is regular exercise. This helps to
improve the health of your joints and muscles, increases flexibility and mobility, and lowers
your risk of developing major diseases. Regular exercise also contributes to a healthy mind,
along with other activities such as socializing, reading, getting enough sleep, and so on.
A healthy lifestyle is not something you should take for granted. It is beneficial in so many
ways. Money can buy all the luxuries in the world, but it cannot buy good health. It can help you
maintain it or find a cure, but it can never fully restore your health. So be mindful of
your choices while young because they will significantly impact your health as an adult.
3. Not Saving Most young adults are reckless
spenders. They are wasteful with their money. They have a habit of squandering money as soon
as they receive it. This is a very harmful habit. Most young people prefer to live in the moment
with no regard for the future. They are afraid of being left out and want to always be included.
They chase the latest trends in fashion and attend costly events and activities despite
their inability to afford them. There is nothing wrong with being fashionable and purchasing the
latest iPhones except that it makes you poorer. As a young person, your long-term goal should
be to learn how to build a long-term financial plan. To do so, you must develop the habit of
saving and acquiring knowledge about wise investing. You can own or have anything you want,
but only if you build it yourself. Don't be tempted by your peers or the latest fashions.
You can have it all when you become financially stable. Several studies show that many Americans
struggle to save money. But doing so is worth the effort because there are serious consequences to
not saving money, such as going into debt, facing financial hardship after losing your job,
and not achieving your goals, such as home ownership. Therefore, planning for it is
essential regardless of how easily the money comes. It is a skill that every young person
who wishes to be successful must learn. Don't overspend. Save and invest for your future. You
won't be spoon-fed forever. Take charge of your life by saving more than you spend.
Set aside money for investments and, importantly, emergencies.
4. Giving up easily In life, nothing worthwhile
comes easily, no matter how hard we try to deny it. There will always be roadblocks, issues,
and disappointments along the way. You must be willing to put in the effort to prosper and
achieve your goals. However, most young people have a tendency to give up too quickly. They
ignore the importance of hard work and consistency. They need to remember the fact that people do not
become successful overnight. All the successful people we admire today were involved in some
building process behind the scenes before becoming who they are. Unfortunately, most young people do
not see this picture. As a result, they want to ditch the process to make instant wealth,
causing them to partake in various awful get-rich schemes that could ruin their lives and mess them
up. It's so easy to give up when something seems too hard. Though quitting seems like the easiest
option, pushing through the difficulties is what makes a person more refined and accomplished.
So, when things get toughed, don't take the easy way out. Persevere and keep pushing.
There is no better feeling than getting through a difficult situation and overcoming it.
Keep in mind that the most difficult trials come right before the breakthrough.
So, keep going because you could be on the verge of success at any time.

5. You Want Instant Gratification
As I previously stated, something genuinely worthwhile takes work. Your overwhelming
desire to enjoy yourself at the moment can ruin many of your long-term goals.
Obtaining a degree, getting in shape, or becoming an Olympic athlete, and getting good in many other
aspects of life require time and discipline. But unfortunately, today's youth are always
looking for immediate results. They are under tremendous pressure to establish a successful
career as early as possible, make money as soon as possible, find the perfect partner quickly,
and most importantly, enjoy themselves right away. They want to have it all instantly,
immediately, and this is not practical. The truth is that getting everything you want,
let alone getting it right away, is unrealistic. Instant gratification is a source of frustration
because it creates unrealistically high expectations. Learning to use delayed gratification
and self-discipline gives you time to strategize thoughtfully and learn from your mistakes.
6. Investing Without Research
Most self-help books written by successful entrepreneurs always emphasize the importance
of investing while young. Furthermore, they provide all the necessary actions and cues
to accomplish this. Nonetheless, some youth rush to invest in things they have no idea about.
They do this because they see their friends and peers succeeding in that niche.
They fail to invest time and fully understand what they are about to enter.
They do not pause to consider what they want, why they want it, how it will benefit them,
and what they must do to achieve it. As a young adult, try to educate yourself and always devote
time to research before you invest your time and resources into anything. Seek the assistance of a
professional if you must, or enroll in a course that will help you understand the fundamentals
of investing. Today, you can find a plethora of investment ideas to choose from. However,
you don't have to invest in all of them. Just pick two or three that are within your reach.
7. Blaming Your Parents
Do you often blame your parents for your mistakes and failures? Or for how they treated you as a
child? Though you shouldn't tolerate being mistreated by your parents as a young adult,
you shouldn't always complain and whine about your childhood. Instead, move on and apply those life
lessons to better yourself. While it may be helpful to think about how your childhood
experiences have contributed to what is going on in your life now, blaming your parents delays
your progress and keeps you trapped in the past. You may be right that your parents should have
done things differently, but what then? Getting angry at them and saying they're bad will not
change the past. Even if your parents acknowledge their faults and apologize, it won't change what
happened. It also doesn't get you where you want to go. Focusing solely on your parents' mistakes
can be self-justifying. It may be easier than confronting your insecurities, fears,
and disappointments about your life decisions. Some young adults with this habit often get trapped
in a self-sabotaging cycle of making unhealthy choices to get back at their parents and prove
how much their parents hurt them. As a result, they end up ruining their own lives. Sure, your
parents may have made mistakes then, but they are human and everyone makes mistakes. Forgiving them
for their failures, even if only in your head, liberates you from being trapped in the past
and viewing yourself as a victim. It would be best if you moved on. You will be happier.
You can't change people, so adjust your perception of the situation.
So, do you resonate with any of the points mentioned in this video? If you do, you must
reassess your life choices and forge a way forward. And make sure the resolutions you make and keep
today will help you become a better person tomorrow. Otherwise, that's all we had for you
today. Thank you so much for watching this video. If you have any comments or thoughts that you'd
