Hello everyone. Welcome back to the homestead.
Today we're going to share some highlights from our June gardens,
starting right here in our kitchen garden,
which mostly has a lot of beautiful blooms right now.
We are harvesting a little bit from it, but a lot of it's still waiting.
I've got a lot of potatoes in the ground,
cabbages that are really close.
The garlic is very close to being harvested and many other things that are super
close or will be harvested later in the season.
Then we'll go out to our main crop and that's where we've been doing most of
our harvesting at this time of the year.
So hope you enjoy our son Caleb is really helping me out with these videos.
I'm kind of trying to pass things over to him a little bit,
which has been a huge blessing.
So I hope you enjoy having him kind of in the background. Yeah.
I hope this blesses you today.
Those of you who don't know, our main crop is about halfway finished.
My mom and Esther are going to show you some of the things we've been harvesting.
This cauliflower is living up to its name. Yeah. What variety is Esther?
It's called amazing. Sure is living up to his name.
We just started harvesting our cool Robbie this year.
We're doing two different varieties.
One is called quick star and the other is called winter.
And so far they're performing about the same.
They're both early to mature cool Robbies and we're enjoying them.
The broccoli is just beginning to get heads. They're so tiny.
This variety is called Monty and we actually got it planted late,
but it's doing pretty much as well as the one that we planted way before it.
So it seems like a really good variety.
This variety is called Batavia and we planted it earlier than the Monty,
but I did just remember that it got dug up by our dogs and had to be
transplanted.
So I think it's performing pretty much just as well as the other.
This here is thunderhead kale and the leaves are
actually going to get much bigger than this. Amazingly.
It grew so good last year, all through the summer, kept growing.
And it's just amazing for a large family of nine.
These kinds of leaves are fantastic.
Think this will be enough for dinner, Caleb? I think so.
This is amaranth.
It's used as a trap plant to keep the beetles off of our
beets and other things as well.
Our red ace beets are ready to harvest and I've been doing really good this
year, even though the dogs tried to dig them up.
Thank you guys for joining us in the gardens today.
I hope it was a blessing to you.
I tried to label as many of the blooms and varieties that we're growing as
possible in this video for anyone who's interested in that.
And I would love it if you could take a moment to go down in the comments and
tell me one thing that you're growing this year that you're super excited about
if you are growing a garden. As always,
thank you so much to our patrons who make these videos possible.
We truly appreciate you all. Until next time,
we pay blessings over you and yours and whatever you do,
do it with your whole heart.
