Right, so by the time you're watching this video, it's 2025.
A new year, a new opportunity to progress.
So what I'm going to talk you through in this video is how to set up and how to structure your goals
so that one, you achieve them, but two, you can review them,
closely monitor them and make sure as the year progresses, you're working towards them.
If you're interested in self-development,
goal setting is one of the most important things to carry forward,
to continue to develop as a person.
So the way that I set my goals up is I list everything as a subtopic that is important to me.
So what that starts off with firstly, business, personal, physique,
and the fourth one is educational.
So what I'm going to do is talk you through exactly how to structure these.
Now, what often happens when people set goals is they'll just make a list
and they'll not look at that list until the next year.
I break them down and I only list five for each.
And then what I do is I fit those five into a quarter.
So what do I want to achieve in quarter one?
What do I want to achieve in quarter two, quarter three, quarter four?
And how I set that up is the more unrealistic goals,
the goals that I read back and scare me and I think,
oh ----, they're going to be in quarter four,
because the likelihood of achieving them is relatively low.
So I've got to work goddamn hard in order to get there.
So the first one for me is business.
I will sit down and I'll look at five pillars of the business that I want to improve.
So last year, that was, and I'm going to give examples
because I think it's important, especially with the people who watch my videos.
In my business, I wanted to scale my team.
So I set numbers for my coaches to achieve,
whether that was financial, whether that was client numbers.
And also in order to achieve that, we broke that goal down further.
What retention did they need to achieve in order to scale?
And we set quarters.
So right, I want you at X amount of clients by Q1,
X amount of clients at Q2 and so on.
As well as that for me, business,
I always break it down into what's going to be client numbers, but also financial.
Everybody is driven by financials.
They say they're not, but that's what makes the world go round, right?
I'm not money driven.
I'm progress driven.
And if a business is scaling, it's scaling financially.
So for me, I will look at what's achievable.
Where are we at now?
Am I undershooting?
Am I overshooting?
I often would business undershoot.
So that's why I have a mentor to get me to think big, you see?
And then also with this, it's more around community.
So what are we doing?
And how I often set my business goals up is I look at where I want to be,
the lessons that I've learned in the year before and what I want to improve.
So for new gen, we've got an amazing community.
We need to keep improving that community.
So what I've done is look to the marketing plan already ahead of next year.
Where are we having our community events?
So for me, that's the three pillars, right?
My staff, my clients, the business financials, right?
And then there's going to be a few more on top of that,
that would be nice to have.
So that will cover generally business.
And again, everybody's different.
You may run your business slightly separately.
But as a coach, I think they're the key fundamentals
that you need to be looking at on top of service.
How can we improve the service?
So I recently mentioned in another YouTube, I wanted to expand the staff.
So for me, the goal in 2025 was to employ a nutritionist.
We've already done that and we're five days into the new year, right?
So look at this.
It's important.
We're planning ahead and you don't just write empty goals down with no actions.
I know the Q1 goals are realistic.
The Q2 goals are realistic.
Q3 are optimistic and then so are Q4.
That drives that work rate across that year.
We tick them off and we progress.
And that's what gets you out of bed in the morning.
The next for me is how I stay true to my values all year round.
We might have business goals, but what do I want to achieve personally?
For me, I always want to give back to my family.
I'm going to give you an example of a personal goal that I will set.
In fact, I'm not because it's going to be a surprise when I achieve it.
We can keep that in if you want.
But an example for me, obviously, a few years ago was I wanted to retire my mum.
It was optimistic I achieved it.
This year, my personal goals are just littered with what I want to do for my family.
Also, they need to be littered with what I want to do for myself and my future family.
So a good example, as I said, personal for me two years ago,
three years ago was to retire my mum.
So I work relentlessly in order to achieve that.
Another personal one that I wrote down last year, which I will share,
is do not feel pressured for working.
As an entrepreneur or somebody who's trying to get somewhere that
majority of people don't want to get to,
you often will receive criticism for working.
You need to switch off, you need to relax.
I've had that a lot.
And at the moment, my circle is very complementary to where I'm trying to go.
So they understand the mission.
So one goal that I achieved really well this year was don't feel pressured for working.
And I've scaled my business significantly.
And that was a personal goal.
On top of that, building this business, I didn't used to manage stress or emotion well.
One huge goal that I set myself last year to achieve this year
was to manage my emotion and manage my stress better.
So every time I felt like I was at the top of the water bottle and I was going to explode,
I took a step back and I realized where I was at.
And I've managed stress a lot better.
Personal ones as well for me was to look after my health coming into this next year.
With bodybuilding, I've done a lot of damage to my health.
I want to make sure that everything is recovering properly.
And I'm on the process of doing that already.
So these goals can go on for years.
I've just got to tick them off.
But I always like to get to the end of the year and tick them all off.
But remember, your personal goals are for you.
I keep those really tight to my chest.
And with all my goals, they go in my notes on my phone.
So they're easy, accessible.
And I can review them.
And what I'm going to do different this year is I'm going to print them off.
Now that I've got an office, I'm going to put them on the wall.
I'm going to remind myself of them every single day
because that's going to drive the work rate.
Now, this one won't be for everybody watching this video.
But I always say, if you are in shape, it shows how much respect you have for yourself.
So for me, physique wise, I always have a physique goal.
Last year, I failed miserably on it, right?
My goal physique wise was to turn IFBB Pro and to have a run at Pro Shows.
I didn't achieve that.
But one goal that was under physique was see how you get on in the Pro Shows.
And remember, health is wealth.
Don't push it too far.
So I read that back and I smiled because I accepted the fact that I'd done three Pro qualifiers.
I'd almost achieved the goal.
And my vision actually changed throughout the year.
And that's important with your goals.
You've got to be able to pivot.
And I pivoted seven months into the year and said, you know what?
I don't like how I look.
I don't like how I feel.
I don't like what I'm doing to my body.
So I am OK not achieving this goal.
And that was where I pivoted.
This year, I will look at my physique goals.
And I still want to look amazing.
But I want to feel amazing.
And I want to be able to perform very well.
So it's changed.
And as this time will say, I want it.
So look good, feel good, perform good.
And that is my physique goal coming into 2025.
And with the physique goal, I would highly encourage people who may be watching this
video who don't have a physique goal to put one in.
Because how I craft my physique goals, my routine, having a set time to go to the gym
every single day when I go to the gym, having a set time to eat my meals, that means that
I'm very productive.
I'm fueling my body, right?
And I'm fueling it like a machine, which will directly translate into my work and my
operation of how I run my business.
You won't see, and if you look at the top entrepreneurs in the world, very few of them
now are out of shape.
You look at Jeff Bezos, he's in shape.
I think Elon Musk might even be in shape now.
And there's a few others that are really starting to get in shape.
Because how you feel day to day will dictate the level of success you carry out of that
day.
And I truly believe that.
I wasn't successful until I started going to the gym because I was introverted.
Going to the gym built my confidence.
It built me who I am today and built me the business that I've got.
So if you don't have a physique goal, set one.
Now the final one is education.
This is something that is very close to my heart.
The reason for this is because I'm a business owner.
So when I used to work in a corporate infrastructure, it was my responsibility to do further
education.
I'd get training from the company.
So as an entrepreneur, as a business owner, sometimes it's easy to let self-development
drop to one side and just focus on the business and trying to move the needle.
But over the last five to six years, I've always focused on self-development.
More recently, reading books.
So I've only done that over the last 12 months and I've picked up tons of value.
But for me, I always set a goal for education to become better at my job.
So last year, I set a goal to invest in a hypertrophy course because I wanted to become
a master at that.
This year, what I'm going to do is further develop my skill set within nutrition.
I'm already a qualified nutritionist, but I want to look more at performance nutrition
on a higher level than what I've already got.
So I will always make a big investment so that I stick to it.
And that way, I'm getting better at my job.
I'm relaying that to my clients.
And ultimately, I have more confidence in delivering my product.
So if you look at how I've crafted these goals, this is everything that's important to me.
If you actually take a backward step and you look at a business, that's going to dictate
what you achieve in life.
Personal, that's going to dictate your values.
Physique, that's going to dictate how you feel about yourself and how you look.
Education is going to mean you're consistently improving.
And to me, that's life, right?
I'm giving back to my family.
My business is growing.
My staff are happy.
I feel good because I'm going to the gym and I'm getting better at my job day in, day out
for my clients.
And that's how I set them up.
Now, most importantly, the goals need timeframes.
So there is no point just setting a goal at the start of the year saying,
I want to achieve that by the end of the year.
By having the timeframes and the deadlines, these are the stepping stones across the year
for you to progress closer towards them and to take them off.
So if you look at a physique and you say, right, I want to turn pro in 2025.
OK, that's great.
When do you want to turn pro?
Q4.
OK, so Q1 and Q2 are going to be spent in an off season.
Q3 and Q4 are going to be spent in prep.
You wouldn't then set your IFBB pro card in Q1, right?
Does that make sense?
But that's what we're looking at.
And if you apply the same to business, it may be revenue driven.
You're not going to jump up from 50k a month to 100k within Q1.
You need to break that down.
What does that look like in terms of clients coming in, clients leaving?
What's your churn rate?
You can see these goals are not just a quick five minute job.
It's breaking everything down.
It's understanding what's achievable.
And with the goals in Q4, it's stretching yourself.
Because if you're anything like me, I don't like not achieving goals.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I will help out.
Because for me, when I started doing this many years ago,
this is how I really built the success that I've got today.
And also, I've never deleted my notes.
So it's so good to look back on them and see how far you've come
and see how far you're going to go.
It gives you self-belief in yourself.
If you believe in you, you'll go far in life.
If you do have any questions, feel free to add them in the comments
and I'll get back to you.
But I hope this helps and I hope it allows you to achieve the goals in 2025.
