Good morning guys, welcome back to the channel.
If you join us at the airport,
it's currently seven in the morning.
You can't do it.
And we had four.
Yes I can.
You can, go on then.
We had 415 alarms this morning.
Not that we had 415 alarms set, we probably needed that.
But luckily I woke up at 410,
just before the alarm went off,
so I actually feel all right.
Just quickly, my eye,
I've woken up with like a swollen eye on this side.
So if I look like I'm doing that,
I'm not winking, well I might be winking at you,
but I don't know what it is.
So bear in mind that this might get worse
throughout the videos of this series,
which is fantastic.
But yeah, very exciting day today.
We've got a travel day today.
And so far, I don't want to say it out loud,
but touch wood, it's gone very smoothly.
It's all been good, hasn't it?
I know. Why did you say that?
Why did you say that?
Because I'm a positive person,
and I want to talk about the positives in life.
Other than my eye.
We've just had breakfast at Pizza Express.
Since when do they do breakfast?
Pretty good, wasn't it?
It was like nice, quick, hot food.
Yeah, had no idea that Pizza Express
did actual breakfast.
So we just had like a full English.
But guys, that is the last of the English food
that we're going to be having for a little while,
because I think Lucy just said,
we are, for the first time today,
traveling, did you not say it?
Didn't say it.
They've seen the title.
They've seen the thumbnail.
For the first time ever, traveling to Poland.
We are off to Krakow,
which firstly, I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing correctly.
We looked up, so I'm going to embarrass myself now,
but we looked up how to actually pronounce it,
and there was like a YouTube pronunciation video,
and it said that Polish people
would pronounce it like this.
Let me know how I sound.
Yeah.
So the English people can say either Krakow or Krakow.
That's very English, it's like Krakow.
If you know more than us,
we're supposed to be blooming travel bloggers,
but if you know more than us
on how to pronounce these words properly,
leave us a comment.
But yeah, very, very excited.
We have never, ever set foot in Poland before.
We have like no expectations.
We are totally fresh.
We're going to experience it for the first time.
We haven't even watched any other vlogs or videos about it.
We just wanted to land
and get all our first impressions in today's video.
Fresh, basically.
We need to finish up here, pay the bill.
Gate information's coming up in a second.
And yeah, off to Poland for the very first time.
So one thing I do need to set up is our eSIM for Poland.
Now I'm going to use Saly.
Makes life so much easier.
You don't have to look for public Wi-Fi's
and stuff when you land.
Saly's the one we use,
and they've partnered with us on the channel.
They are the sponsor of today's video.
So I'm going to set it up right now.
I've already downloaded the app.
And the biggest tip, if you're using an eSIM,
set it up now.
I'm still at the airport in England.
Set it up before you land,
because then when you land, open your phone,
you're connected to the internet straight away.
And you can just book your Uber or Google Maps
or whatever you need to do
when you arrive at your destination.
So I'm going to explore plans, go to Poland,
see how much this is.
I'll go for the 10 gig plan.
Also, because we do work with Saly on the channel,
we've got a discount code for you.
Just use code THEJUICYBLOCK.
And yeah, you can get 15% off your Saly plan as well.
If you don't know what an eSIM is at all,
it just basically means
you don't need a physical SIM card
when you land somewhere.
You don't need to go and find a data plan.
Book a plan on your phone,
install the eSIM without anything physical.
And when you land, you are connected.
You are good to go.
I actually went for the 20 gig plan just in case.
So as you can see, the discount has come off.
And then I just hit install eSIM and I'm good to go.
So there's a link in the description to Saly.
And don't forget to use that code for 15% off THEJUICYBLOCK.
Koda's got his own camera for his birthday
for my friends, Chelsea and Ian.
And it's amazing.
And he's just been taking selfies.
So, I mean, I was thinking more like cultural photos
of the historic city of Krakow,
but we've got selfies.
He got on, he went,
and got a picture like that.
I'm like, who's for him though?
You know you do that.
You just go and you go, er.
So one slight error on my part.
The weather in Poland is gonna be incredibly cold.
We looked at the forecast and it said minus six.
And I forgot, I've got some gloves here,
like in my pocket, but I forgot my hat.
The only hat I bought was these,
like a couple of caps, not good enough.
So I'm trying to find a hat now at the airport.
Come to Accessorize, which I think is a women's store.
However, they've got quite a nice green beanie here.
So I'm gonna try it on.
I think anything will do the job.
I just need to, we just need to keep warm
whilst we're out there.
Is this small?
I don't know.
That's what I'm saying, to try it on.
I just thought with the green,
I'd look less like a robber.
So it's gonna be quite nice.
We're landing at Poland time, 12.50 or something,
like midday.
Normally we get somewhere
and it's evening.
We get straight to the hotel
when it's a bit of a rush to get Coda to sleep,
find some water from a local convenience shop, store.
But it's gonna be nice having like a bit more
of a full day there.
I don't feel too tired.
This eye is making me look a lot more tired than I feel.
But actually I'm feeling all right.
I think this one might have a little nap on the plane
because he's looking pretty shattered.
And Coda does as well.
And if you are new to the vlogs,
I'm also 26 weeks pregnant.
So this might be the last plane trip
until I give birth in like,
I mean, I was looking the other day, George,
and the baby could be here in like,
I'm technically 36 weeks in 10 weeks from now.
And they could come at that point.
So I'm feeling a bit unprepared.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
Welcome to your with in flight.
We are boarded.
We are on.
I think we have about two hour flights,
a packed flight, completely full hours, which is great.
So if we like it,
this could be like a very good city break.
Come back in the summer maybe
when I won't need a woolly hat.
Two hours.
See you on the other side.
Touchdown in Poland.
We have booked a Bolt,
which seems to be the Uber app that you should use here.
And apparently the driver is two minutes away.
That was all very smooth, by the way.
Really nice staff at immigration.
Really, really friendly.
They saw that Lucy was pregnant,
put us straight through to the front of the queue.
Amazing.
Flight was good, no complaints.
And now we're looking forward to getting to a hotel.
We're going to drop some bags
and then I think I'm getting hungry.
I don't know about you guys.
We're going to go out for some food, some Polish food.
I've never, ever eaten Polish food in my life.
So I'm very excited for that.
Love the look of this airport.
It's all like triangle pieces of glass.
Very cool.
Look at that, so modern.
It's like the thing I bought before.
Make your straw.
Here we go.
No, no, no, no.
We have just checked in.
I know you like them.
There's some sweets on the hotel counter here
and Koda's definitely got his eye on them.
We just checked in to the, staying at the Radisson Blu.
We've stayed at Radisson Blu before
and they kindly hosted us in Birmingham in the UK.
You really love that one, do you?
You're keeping them safe for me.
All right, good boy.
We were speaking to them this time,
saying we were coming to Poland
and they kindly invited us to stay at this hotel.
So it's beautiful, five stars.
Really, really nice.
So the lifts here in reception were open, ready,
both of them, because they were free.
How handy is that?
Why doesn't everyone do that?
I've never known that.
You're not waiting for lifts,
they're just open, ready to accept.
So like that, how it is now, put it in.
And then put it back out again.
All the way in.
And then out again.
Good boy.
That's it.
Yes, it is our room.
How is it?
Can't tell yet.
How is it, mate?
It's nice.
Hey, this is where the babies sleep.
Yay.
And I've got a cup of tea.
Wow.
And this is where the,
wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
It's good.
This is where the babies sleep.
Really?
In that bed.
Okay.
Hey, have you seen behind you?
There's something special for you.
Hey, it's like a game.
Koko.
You've got some friends for your dragon now.
Oh, and we've got a view.
Wow.
This is a lovely, lovely room.
Very happy.
Overlooking like a park.
And we've got a view of some kind of clock tower.
We're going to get on Google Maps to figure out what that is.
The drive here, really nice.
About 25 minutes to this hotel.
Oh, I'm a bit bright.
And first impressions of Poland, good.
Also, the taxi driver pronounced it more like Krakow.
I really need to know how to pronounce this properly
because it's going to be awkward saying it wrong
in these vlogs.
So I'm going to go back on YouTube in a minute
and get like four or five different videos
of how to pronounce it.
But anyway, really, really nice drive.
The houses kind of, they're really cool and unique.
The style, totally nothing like England at all.
Kind of similar to stuff we've seen in Sweden and Norway
and that kind of thing.
Yeah, lovely drive through the countryside.
And then we've come into the city.
We have no idea.
It's funny, when you get to a new place,
you kind of have no idea exactly where you are,
but it's not till you actually get out there and explore,
which we're about to do.
We're just going to drop some bags.
Have a very quick freshen up and get out here.
Start exploring this brand new city.
Oh, I love it.
Love travel.
Love seeing a new place.
Love it when we've got an actual,
like this hotel room can be our base.
It's super spacious.
Do a very quick room tour.
So you come in and it actually,
well, as you saw as we were walking in,
but it actually comes around the corner here.
Tea and coffee facilities.
Perfect for the morning.
A sliding wardrobe there for our jackets.
Shelving and safe.
Loving this mirror.
Perfect for our morning selfies.
Very nice.
Big, whoa, huge bathroom.
I thought it stopped there, but it goes right around.
There's a bath.
And then right around here is a shower.
That is perfect.
So you come out the bathroom.
Oh, wow.
Huge window here as well.
So many, does that open?
Not sure, I'm not going to try it.
Really nice views all around this room.
It's like a nice park there.
It's really cool.
It's like Hyde Park.
Yeah.
Like, I don't know, wintery.
We once stayed in a hotel
that kind of looked over Hyde Park.
I love the colours.
It's all kind of brown and autumnal still, wintery.
And then you come in here.
I don't think you're going to sleep in there, mate, are you?
You don't sleep in cots anymore.
I'm just hanging on the baby's cot.
You're just hanging on the baby's cot.
I didn't even see these huge windows this last time.
It was massive.
So views, endless views.
There's that clock tower again.
And then there's a desk area, which Coda has found.
So I can sit there tonight and edit this very vlog.
This very vlog, does that make sense?
This very vlog that you're watching.
A massive bed, which is good
because Coda has had a habit
of just sleeping in bed with us recently.
So yep, we'll get three along there nicely.
That is actually huge.
Then we've got a lounge area.
So over here, didn't see that before.
Massive TV on the wall.
Okay, happy days.
More importantly than my sleep tonight
is my stomach, Lucy's stomach and Coda's stomach
because we're all feeling a little bit hungry.
I'm also personally in need of a coffee.
We're going to see what the coffee scene is
if you're new around here to this channel.
A Porsche, again.
Okay, I'm going to interrupt myself quickly
because is this a thing in Poland?
I was going to, I forgot,
but I was going to mention cars.
I saw about seven Porsches,
including a very, very nice GT4
just in the 20 minute drive
from the airport to our hotel.
Is Porsche a thing in Poland?
Are sports cars a thing in Poland
or did we just get lucky?
Lucy and I are hugely into cars.
If you are new around here and you don't know,
we have a Porsche 911 and 996.
So anytime we see a Porsche, we're like,
ooh, and I saw so many on the way to this hotel.
And what was I saying before that?
Yes, coffee.
We also love coffee.
If you're new around here,
we love our specialty coffee.
So I want to see if there's a bit of a coffee scene
here in the city.
Yeah, we're excited to try the food.
We're excited to see the sights.
So yeah, bag drop, freshen up, we'll head out.
It's Sunday here today
and I have to say it's a very peaceful atmosphere.
It's quite quiet.
People are just out strolling with their families
and this park area just in front of the hotel
is beautiful.
And for some reason,
they've still got their Christmas tree up.
So there's a big old Christmas tree behind me.
I bet it'd be a nice destination
to come around Christmas actually.
Beautiful sunshine, look at that.
Well, so busy suddenly.
I just said how peaceful it is.
So we're coming up now for like the main town square area
and the most awkward thing's happened.
Like, we completely stuck out as a British tourist here.
There was a tram trying to let us go for ages.
We didn't realise,
I didn't realise the tram would stop for you.
And we were just sort of like,
are they, sorry, can I, can I?
But the tram was letting us go.
Okay, this is where we're going.
Another quick bolt ride across town.
Seems to be a very, very convenient way to get around here.
And we have come out for dinner
at a restaurant called Starker.
And we've ordered dumplings.
Lucy was doing a little bit of food research
on the way here.
And apparently dumplings are the thing to try here.
So they're on the way.
We've also ordered a burger
because Koda was craving a burger
and he kept asking for a burger.
And then we've ordered a pork knuckle,
which I don't know if that's kind of,
thank you.
I don't know if that's like a traditional
kind of dish here.
When we were in Romania recently, it was,
and it was delicious.
So we saw it on the menu.
We're like, we have to order that.
It's a 45 minute wait.
So all cooked fresh.
Very much looking forward to it.
We will show you the food when it arrives.
Should I take half or is it a whole one each?
Oh, burger.
Yeah, burger's on the way, mate.
Burger takes a bit longer to cook.
Is it?
Little hair.
Oh wow, I thought you'd still have loads of hair.
Wow.
We may have messed up.
This is huge.
It looks absolutely unbelievable,
but we may have filled up on that burger
and chips, which was not the plan,
but we were so hungry.
We hadn't eaten since breakfast
and the whole travel day and everything.
However, yeah, true.
Because this came out late, it was a long wait,
but oh my goodness, it just looks,
look at the size of this.
It's the size of my head.
There's only one thing to do here,
tuck straight in.
Comes with mashed potato, three different sauces.
One looks like a barbecue kind of sauce,
a horseradish and what potentially looks like a mustard.
I've just cut into this and it's steaming.
Oh my goodness.
Okay, so we got some of the pork,
some of the crispy skin.
That is so delicious.
Flavor's so intense.
Crispy skin and fat, just unbelievable.
That is beautiful.
A very different flavor to a similar dish
that we had in Romania.
Kind of, it's kind of more smoky.
Tastes more kind of bacon-y.
It's so dark in this restaurant.
I can't tell if it's kind of stuffed
with maybe herbs and things.
There's definitely some sauerkraut or cabbage here.
As a meat lover, this is one of the best meals
you can probably eat in the world for me.
That made me jump.
Amazing how still they stand, isn't it?
They've got these in London, people standing there.
And whatever I do, she won't react.
Such a skill.
Must get so cold as well.
Unbelievable.
Almost looks fake.
And it's a person.
Just so still.
Just can't believe how they can stand that still.
George, the joke was done like the last time.
We don't need to do this every time we see one, okay?
Okay, back in the room now.
Got another bolt.
Although I think we made the driver quite angry.
We could've changed the pickup location last minute.
We couldn't change it and we tried messaging
and saying we've made an error.
And then we got in the car and he told us off a bit.
So.
What did he actually say?
I didn't hear it.
He said you need to always be at the meeting point
before you book.
But I was like, oh.
I don't think he saw your messages, but it's fine.
Anyway, other than that, all good.
The meal was lovely.
So we went to Starker and ate a lot.
Feel very full.
My highlights were the burger was great, actually.
Really good burger.
Enjoyed the beef cheek pierogi.
Pierogi, I think that's how you say it.
And the dumplings the most.
They were delicious.
I quite liked the cottage cheese and potato ones as well.
And then spinach was probably my least favorite,
but they were all still really delicious.
Very satisfying texture.
Definitely need to try some more of those while we're here.
But really tired.
Although it's only six o'clock here,
which means it's only five o'clock in the UK.
We have been up since four
and we're just feeling absolutely wiped out.
So we're gonna get an early night, I think, guys.
I'm not gonna lie.
Look at this hair.
It was really nice to get a first look at the city today.
First time in Poland.
Obviously first time here as well.
And get our bearings a little bit.
So we're staying right by the Old Town, which is amazing.
And there's now a view at night.
Let me try and,
I don't know if it's gonna come off on camera to be honest,
but let's try.
Mainly me.
You might be able to see this, actually.
That is the main area of the Old Town.
It looks so cool at night out here.
So amazing location for this hotel.
Excited to try their buffet breakfast tomorrow.
You can come back to the next floor for that.
Tomorrow's plans.
We've got a busy one.
I think we might be visiting a castle.
More food.
More traditional Polish food, actually,
which I'm really excited for.
But yeah, thanks so much for joining.
And if you are new around here,
please don't forget to subscribe.
We are here for quite a long time.
There's gonna be quite a few videos from this Poland trip.
So if that's something you're gonna enjoy,
then please subscribe.
Give the video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it today.
I hope tomorrow my eye looks less weird.
I'm looking in the mirror right now.
It's just, it looks half closed, doesn't it?
Like that's how my eye normally looks.
Well, that's how my eye normally looks.
But it's weird.
I look very tired.
It's just making me look more tired.
Like that's how I normally look.
And then that is like, I don't know, it's not great.
But anyway, fingers crossed it's better in the morning.
Doesn't hurt.
It's swollen.
I don't know why.
Anyway, thanks for watching.
And we'll see you tomorrow in the next video
from here in Krakow.
But is it that?
Because someone else said something different earlier.
We heard someone say Krakow.
I don't know.
Let us know in the comments how to pronounce it.
By the time this goes live, I've probably left.
And then it's too late anyway.
Anyway, thanks for watching.
And we'll see you in the next juicy vlog.
Goodbye.
Bye.
