We Thought ROMANIA was CHEAP?! We Were Surprised…(Everything We Spent In Bucharest)

still not used to this cold good morning guys welcome oh my goodness welcome back to another video from I was going to say sunny bches but little bit cloudy I found that here even if it's a sunny forecast day the sky always looks a bit Misty when it's early morning and then as the day goes on the Sun comes out and you have blue skies so it's quite interesting because it was exactly the same this time yesterday and then by like 10 11:00 the sun came out with blue skies and it's just amazing and I love it so we today have got a fun day in store for you because we're basing it around food more food I know can you believe it we're basically going to show you a lot about the prices here in Bucharest in my head I had that it was a cheap place CU I've been told a million times by people that Eastern Europe is cheap for food and it's a cheap place to explore obviously there's always going to be places that are fancier and not as fancy and more local places and more fine dining there's there's everything here because it's a capital city but um the general idea I had is that the food was cheap so far we spent quite a lot of money on food every meal out we've had has been like 50 or 60 english 7 English I don't know if it's just that we're finding places that are expensive without meaning to but today we're going to try and find some of the more budget friendly places there is actually another expensive place we're going to eat that later as well because I can't resist one of the items on their menu but we're going to show you a full range of it today and bring you guys along and also do more exploring so we're going to be seeing the um I think it's a the Palace of parliament I think it's called um which looks amazing so we're going to head there soon um we're going to get some breakfast first there is a coffee place literally here there you go um and George has already headed out and got us some coffee so we've had our coffee number one of the day so we're feeling well caffeinated and ready for a little bit of a walk to our breakfast spot of the day but yeah so far absolutely loving it [Music] here good morning guys it has taken a real turn this morning it has taken a very cold turn today very like way colder than yesterday your breath away a bit doesn't it we were warned we were warned that it gets cold we were warned that it would be cold in Romania I think we got lucky yesterday like the sun was out it was shining there were no clouds it was Pure Blue Sky I think it get Sunny a bit later on maybe and it might warm up but right now it's still it's already like half n it's not even like it's early morning anymore it's just icy so I've done this stupid thing of not bothering to bring gloves out even though I packed them and I did say before we left you want to get your glov store you said now I'll be fine they're in the bottom of my suitcase I couldn't be bothered to get them but now I'm kind of regretting it even though the room is just there I could go and get them for the whole day but I'm not I'm going to continue to be stupid and not they are quite annoying yeah and like picking up the camera trying to take photos all day and filming and stuff I will have you how are they mate let's see your gloves show the Vlog they got dinosaurs on why you Tak off so yes as I believe Lucy has already mentioned at the start of this video we were told that Romania was cold we were also told that Romania was cheap and that is really one of the reasons why we're here because we wanted a little trip for Lucy's birthday which is tomorrow we wanted a little city break we didn't want to travel too far from our home in the UK we didn't want flights that were too expensive and the flights here to buest came up as one of the cheapest flight options 240 for for three of us that's amazing really really really good yeah and the Airbnb I think is £400 for four nights which again is really good for like a nightly rate1 a night for a really nice place1 night lovely Airbnb two bedroom really tall ceilings I think you've seen it in maybe you've seen the previous Vlogs on this trip if you haven't go back and check them out we did a whole food video yesterday just had the most incredible Romanian food no one warned us the food would be this good I know we were quite shocked actually it's so good we're actually going to find another authentic Romanian restaurant today to have some more local food because it was just so so good like genuinely very very very nice but now we are on the way to breakfast Lucy has found a spot and we're doing everything on foot we like to do it on foot because then we get to see we get to see more stuff we get to see some really I mean the buildings here are amazing the architecture is just mind-blowing it's really really nice yesterday was one of my favorite days that I've had genuinely in the last few years really really enjoyed exploring this city yesterday and uh yeah more of that today [Music] well this place is very cool got a little bit of a Japanese feel in my opinion we were in Tokyo at the end of 2023 and I don't know even the walk here was kind of reminding us of that a little bit this country's been like firing off loads of different memories of loads of different countries it's really cool but this place looks really nice specialty coffee as well so so happy with how the coffee senen is in Romania I was not expecting that at all the kind of specialty coffee is everywhere and it's like serious business there was huge cues at the coffee shop that I was at yesterday but now we're going to order some breakfast get some more coffee try it out here and most importantly warm up so pricewise here I can say we're actually about half the price of what we paid yesterday for a similar amount of food so I've got two eggs and sourdough for 22 plus seven for bacon and all loads of extras so seven for bacon I think is very cheap to add normally that' be like what like3 pound or something in the UK maybe even more um so seven is in pounds 17 piece I think that's really good so the total was 142 which is like 204 English P um and that was for three breakfasts I added some extras to mine Geor just got quite a big breakfast Cody just got his egg and toast and three drinks so I think like 23 three people have breakfast and a drink is very cheap so we have F some my cheat we're not I think I think yesterday was just maybe a bit fancier than we thought when we went in say thank you what do you say good good boy well done straw maybe and then it's easier at that mate you go hold the straw go slow is it just right okay you asked for chocolate on top going in for more [Music] drink it tastes like eggs eggs yeah great nice tastes like chalk wow that does look so yummy you can use it like a little screen if you want to Li the straw oh yeah [Music] so cold yesterday I was so cocky like oh I'm not even feeling it it's easy coming here very cold wrap up warm P I do but my H's still cold even though I've got gloves on so behind us here is a palace of parliament Palace is of parliament a very big very beautiful building they've just walked in are we allowed in well they probably work though I guess I know but that's for cars isn't it I don't know if we can get any clothes or not but pizza delivery guys is leaving someone in the parliament to order some pizza they have got a tour apparently you can come in as you can see we've come inside um but I think it's something you have to pre-ir and also it's like a long tour in a important Place probably not appropriate for a 2-year-old so we are going to skip it but we wanted to come and have a look anyway get a closer look of this beautiful building look at the let's go on this wobbly Old Bridge together that's so we found a Romanian Park oh okay go on then and it's massive I mean there's like graffiti everywhere but it's I mean he doesn't know the difference like it's a massive Park there's no one else here really it's very cool actually there's lad of like cool stuff here massive slides you just climb up puppet but yeah graffiti ever it's crazy mommy I'm coming okay wait sure you keep your legs straight no you don't want to come on my lap okay Mommy we're going to go on the little red one okay Daddy how was that good you do it again good you can climb up that ladder super loud so hopefully you can still hear me um but we are heading now oh I need to SL my hair up in the next place um we are heading now to a specialy coffee shop another one coffee here so good and I think I'm going to get hot chocolate and we said Koda would get one as well p in so I don't think we're in the old town now we're in like a normal area I don't really know um but there's loads of so loads of lovely buildings like behind us here cuz this is definitely the sort of weather where you actually need a hot drink like we have coffee all the time at home but we're not cold we just have it we have it in the summer it doesn't matter but here I'm like craving like a hot tea or a hot coffee or hot chocolate something that really warms you up luckily everywhere we've been has the heating on like full blast inside it's just when you step out it's just unbelievably cold amazing thank you [Music] wow all right we are at what is the name of this place on the screen I always hit record yeah it's on the screen I always hit record without preparing anyway we're at a traditional restaurant or a place where traditional food anyway we've got a feast here we've got the famous sausages which we had yesterday we had to get them again we've got the soup it's transan bean soup Transylvanian bean soup served in the bread roll it's like a whole over bread holding a bowl of soup I don't know how it doesn't soak out the bottom and then Lucy has it said on the menu I've lost a menu I'll put it on I'll find it when we edit I'll put it on screen it said something about it's from somewhere it's like lamb kebab with this like lovely tomatoey salsa bulgy and then some like chili sauce [Music] say that Flav is incredible so good you try it if you want or just try your sausage and what have you got mate tell the Vlog I got bread bread and that and that yum that yum right you going to put the lid on for me you eating the lid okay so I'm going to try this soup with a fork because it doesn't look oh it is liquidy we need to to bring a spoon over I think okay we'll ask for a spoon but let me try look I can get all of [Music] this that the flavor is really good it's really Smoky meaty flavor yeah it smoked pork inside it and then I've got here I don't know if this is bone oh there's ribs inside oh my goodness the biggest piece of meat ever inside YouTu saying that that's the biggest me ever for a soup for soup one this is big true yeah I actually need to break that up I think do you want to ask for R yeah but I can oh I've lost it in my roll okay we go for some of this W look at that sick I don't want to try some you don't have to put your sausage wow that's delicious smoked bacon huge amount of flavor kod requested the same as yesterday so he's got the minchi sausage as well Instagram is in the wild did you get a good shot there yes thank you after you stood in the we eight times you're welcome that was a lovely lunch I have to say you can't just Ram me to move me out the way um really really nice lunch look at this I just wanted to film a clip here because that's such a nice background but yeah the sun has come out for the first time today and now it all looks beautiful again look look around us look at these buildings love it so much here I'm glad we chose a slightly extended trip we might not usually stay this long in one city but we chose to have um a little bit of a longer stay so we're glad we did that and yeah it is less cold now isn't it now that the sun is out that sh stand and entertain the yeah sure I'm going to put the total of that meal came too on the screen now but I don't remember it it's written down it was fun we didn't write it down I thought we get I in that you thought you think we're going to get some ice creams yeah do you want ice cream yeah do you yeah even in this cold weather you want ice cream yeah fair enough fair enough yeah we thought the total price how do you have an ice cream what please please we'll see I'm going to do the classic parent thing and say we'll have to ask Mommy so we thought the total price of that meal was pretty reasonable pretty good I think this city is way more I don't know current I use the word current there's so much like new new wave coffee there's so so many cool restaurants um I guess we've kind of chosen the places that are really well rated and a lot of young people are going to and stuff like that so it's like prices have felt similar to other European cities but then like the breakfast this morning we did seek out a place that was cheaper um that lunch I don't think was expensive but the food was like really good quality so I think you could probably come here on a budget you could probably come here and spend a lot less money but yeah flights were definitely cheaper the Uber was cheap from the airport to our Airbnb the Airbnb itself was was not cheap but it was for what it is it's cheap so we chose we were able to get a nicer Airbnb because the rates were kind of lower to begin with what are you doing are you hiding that's a funny one [Music] jingle with me [Music] baby jingle [Music] baby so just picked up some baked goods from this place which is very well rated uh Lucy found it on in Instagram I think and yeah we just picked up some stuff that we're going to take back to the room all of it looked delicious we chose like did we get four or five things five five things so we're going to go back to the room tuck in see how they are yeah it's it's a traditional uh oh here you go it says it up here traditional anything traditional it's probably quite a good T smell that smells incredible oh my god let's go putting the word traditional on any thing here is probably a good tourism marketing tactic isn't it all traditional you want to do what they you're meant to do I don't want to come here and have like Italian food even though we did that on the first night we did do that but we arrived late and we didn't know anything about the area so we ordered some Italian um but yeah I think I'll put the name on the screen right now it's like a bready kind of pastry fried I think it's like a fried flatbread type thing and then you can have them sweet or savory so I got one with jam and one with Nutella do you don't want that who wants the rest of it you want what so yeah we will see you back in the room when we try these delicious looking are they pastries they're kind of pastries AR do you want to go to Umbrella Street first B all right why not or we can do that before dinner yeah should we decide this off camera so we're not just dragging people along for our decisions it's funny what you don't see in travel Vlogs all the like all the planning that I've done before the trip you just want to start argumenting me don't you and all like the decisions during the day what we should do where we should go and then it all comes together in a nice little video who who plans it do no you do do the you did all the planning I'm not even going to say most you did all of the planning for this trip even up till like midnight last night and the night before all right I'll be up till midnight editing this Vlog so don't you worry it's fair as long as it's fair we're good okay I hope I'm not the only one thinking this but I'm feeling so christmy the cold weather the jumpers are out I love it it's my favorite time of year I'm really excited to show you my first little christmy haul for new bits I picked up this year I just love Christmas decoration shopping it's my favorite thing in the world starting with this sign which I just love I need to figure out where to put it it's going to go on the fireplace or maybe by the front door it says may you never be too grown up just search the skies on Christmas Eve so cute I love it the next thing I picked up are these fairy lights you can see just here and I just think these are a bit different quite fun thank you a nice warm light which is the best I don't like it when it's like a bright white light so these are really cute okay I've always wanted one of these and I'm going to show you the photo of what it's going to look like it's a Christmas doorbell I haven't shown this yet hopefully he's up for it it'll either be on the front door maybe at the bathroom door or that door just behind me there but this was like1 something that the prices are really amazing okay I've been looking for one of these for ages it's a Santa who climbs up the [Music] tree so good Cod is going to love that I know then I bought our son a little a mini Christmas tree I need some more batteries for the lights um it comes with lights which I thought was really good and it's kind of like snow dusted and to go with it we had these little gingerbread men decorations I don't want to set this up yet I want to keep it in the Box because I really want him to help me set it up because it's his first ever Christmas tree that he can have in his room and then lastly I bought this plain wreath to go on the front door I want to get some like snow spray and make it look dusted and add like cinnamon sticks and orange slices but yeah that is the whole finish I'm just in the Christmas period now so let me know in the comments if you're the same I'm just so excited for Christmas I can't even tell you I really love to start my prep for the Christmas Christmas decorations a long time in advance I find it so much fun I found all these on temo and spent a long time choosing them and they really didn't cost a lot of money at all considering that the quality is still good it's really cold outside it is isn't it it's freezing yeah it was freezing today wasn't it but we had a good day didn't we no it's warm it's warm warm in the room right it's warm what was first that's what you wanted how eat it no not like that darling just keep it together and hold it like that yeah yeah yeah cuz you eat it and it's all inside it so try a bit first youat the donut bit can what do you think of the baby one get CH o so it's almost like a crep a bit more of a Brey cakey crep I mean look just looks just delish keep saying Delish in this Vlog I never i' never normally say delish m m wow wow that is so good that is my type of thing that's my type of thing that's your type of thing yeah that is fantastic this is a German marshmallow cake you have that one and I did have that one a plum filled dumpling or profito what you call it a plum filled something very stud I want that dut you want it go for it and lastly an apple pie but it's like a slice of it like can I say like that can I say yeah you can like that it's cold I kind of want that to be warm but it does look good I like apple pie oh that's lovely try whatever you want darling you just go for it yummy yeah yes Mommy Cody where are the TV remotes mate daddy said we're missing them both I've only got one and there's three TVs in this unit even though it's been a few seconds since you last saw the clip of us eating for us it has been a few hours and we are now heading out you guessed it for more food three locks on these Romanian doors three locks is that normal here I don't know but feels very secure [Music] [Music] guys so the food has arrived we haven't said where we're going have we would you look at this burger I'm not even sure if we said we were on the way to dinner but we've anyway we've come out to a place called Mom MO beautiful restaurant really nice again a little bit fancier than we were expecting there's some really high-end fancy places here in Bucharest which just incredible so I've gone for their signature burger with fries Lucy's gone for the lasagna it's so cool I've already filmed it so it looks a bit worse now but it's like layers obviously lasan layers but more layers than normal there like ver on the top it's amazing guys wow we've just finished our meal it was delicious like that was like top quality food find D level food the place is lovely really nice evening atmosphere hope you can hear me over the music the bill just came and because it's in a currency I don't instantly have an association with the price so what I do I pay on my phone and then I wait to see my bank sends me a notification with how much is in pound it came up it said you just spent £30 £30 two main meals some drinks a big bottle of s pelino 30 you that's I'm going to call it I'm going to call it cheap I'm going to call it cheap because usually when we come out for dinner just the two of us and get something for Koda maybe £60 70 sometimes I don't know and that's yeah our breakfast here on the first day was £55 so we were like oh okay this is more kind of like in line with home £30 for this meal and this experience really really [Music] good have to remember that there is cycle Lanes here as well near near got taken out by a bikee but the lines are kind of broken up a little bit so I kind of forget but most of the sidewalks have uh bike Lanes so if you're visiting bear that in [Music] mind not sure what's going on here next upop more food ice cream we've spoted a really nice ice cream place so we're walking like 20,000 steps I think we got a little bit of room for ice cream and we have been very it's how we kind of do things we don't want to limit ourselves when we travel these places so we're like super strict at home with what we eat and our d stuff then when we come out on trips we can afford to try out some of the nice local [Music] spots turn around oh the [Music] yes just the boys fish bu for that here mate there's some here no those little mommy can have that one there's nothing in there that's empty I might come in back here tomorrow night mommy you have to get those he most look you see there there's a little bit more who's that for uh yeah can I try can I have some of this one no I'm having that cuz I haven't got any at the moment you can share M thank you you can't for the I want to put the ball there okay so I can just have a little bit for the boys I want a little bit can I be an honorary boy you can have that one that bit okay thanks wow thank you this is so good I'll eat all of it that's me come have it really nice day in Bucharest really enjoyed it today loving this city so much loving this country so much I think we haven't planned much for 2025 yet and I'm thinking Eastern Europe Romania definitely maybe some other countries should potentially come into the plan we want to do a lot more traveling in 2025 this year has been I would say a moderate level of traveling not our highest by any means but we've had a lot of other projects going on we've had a lot of stuff going on at home a lot of stuff even in our personal lives off offline off camera that have been going on um and obviously navigating Parenthood as to as Cod has been growing up as well but 2025 we definitely want it to be a travel focused Year we're very excited to explore new places that we've never been to
