Look at the bananas on that.
Good morning guys.
Welcome to a brand new video.
Today we are starting the day in like a bittersweet way
because this is Lucy's dad and Claire, Lucy's step-mum's
final full day in Manila in the Philippines.
We've just had the most insane,
delicious Filipino breakfast.
We've made a whole video on that.
I think it's probably gone on the channel before this.
So if you missed that, go and check it out.
We are stuffed.
We have had so much food.
But now something quite exciting.
We are going to try a new coffee shop.
Well, not a new coffee shop, but a new coffee for us.
Mike's Coffee, Morse Coffee is now available
in BGC at Scout's Honor.
And we just happen to be about one minute away
from Scout's Honor and we are all ready for a flat white.
We've got the crew here.
So getting to try a Morse Coffee flat white today,
which is awesome.
And then yeah, enjoying our very last day with them
in Manila.
Sad times.
This amazing trip is coming to an end.
Think of this mall.
It's expensive.
It is, yeah.
They've spent a lot on this mall
and the shops have been paying a fortune to be in here.
They run really nice posh shops.
High-end shops.
There's a section in Westfield in London
that's like really nice.
Yeah, you go through a separate entrance to it, don't you?
Right.
All the posh shops.
Yes.
Wow, they also have the Morse Coffee chocolate bar.
Luce, they got the Morse Coffee chocolate bar as well.
Yeah, so this is Mike's Coffee company, Morse.
Morse Coffee, which we've never actually properly tried.
So they are now in here.
What are you two up to?
We found some colouring while we wait.
Colouring's always good.
It's one of the few things that keeps him sat down
for more than one minute.
Yeah.
What colours have you got?
Wow, lots of colours.
Pink, orange, and blue.
Wow.
Here you go.
Oh.
Sorry, there is a 44 dive.
That's good, it's good.
All right, here we go.
Got the Morse cups.
Do actually love the branding of this.
Let's try it.
Of course it's good.
Of course.
Wow, that's so good.
Of course it's good, it's Mike.
Very, very, very good.
Genuinely, not just saying it because I'm his friend.
He hasn't paid me to say this.
Although he probably should.
But no, genuinely, very, very nice.
So today is kind of dedicated to shopping malls
because we've done a few little shopping malls.
We did SM Mall on our first day here.
We did, maybe that's it actually.
We've not done many actually.
I thought we had done more,
but I think that was before they came.
And only for a little while as well.
But today we're going to like two different
big shopping malls here in Uptown.
And so Uptown Mall and then Mitsukoshi Mall,
so the Japanese mall, which they're quite excited for.
But I think the malls here are just so much better
than where we are in England.
I know England has got a lot of good shopping malls.
When we say that, it's not that it's saying
that England hasn't got good malls because it does.
But where we live, the biggest shopping mall,
it's like a half an hour drive from where we live.
And it's not very good.
The choice is a bit rubbish.
It's all a bit dated.
There's a few nice shops, but it's nothing crazy.
But here you get like a lot of flagship stores
and a lot of high-end stores.
And also like shops that you actually would buy stuff in.
I feel like some malls are just so expensive
and sort of out of reach that like you walk into it
and it'd be like 10,000 pounds for a bag.
And like, I'm not spending 10,000 pounds on a bag.
I can't spend 10,000 pounds on a bag.
But here you get a lot of shops that are like high quality,
but reasonably priced.
So like we're at Sunny's right now looking at sunglasses.
It's like 500 and something pesos for a pair of sunglasses
and they're good quality.
So that's what I mean.
Like it's quite a shoppable mall
as opposed to like a really pricey mall
where you like just look around and can't afford anything.
So it's nice having like the balance of both.
And then yeah, we're excited to go to Mitsukoshi
in a little bit and show them that as well.
Just quickly, I wanna take you behind the scenes
in this video.
One of the coolest things about vlogging
is getting to watch your life back.
But in order to do that, it takes a lot of editing time,
which is what I'm doing right now.
And on these edit days, I get really into the project.
I wanna just sit here all day
and get these videos out for you guys.
And the sponsor of today's video,
which is Why Food, really, really helps me with that
because this is a complete meal in a bottle.
Perfect for people like me
who are a little bit unorganized all over the place.
Often while I'm editing,
Lucy's doing something else around the house.
We both have very busy days.
Try this.
Barely any left.
I know, I know.
Oh, that's nice.
It's thick.
In a good way.
It's like a milkshake.
Natural caffeine and 28 vitamins and minerals.
I am literally running from where I was just sat
up to our office.
Because for some edits, I'm using the laptop.
For others, I'm jumping on our setup here.
Up here, I have the crazy coconut flavor.
And the one before I was drinking is my personal favorite.
You guys know I love my coffee, the cold brew coffee.
This has 34 grams of protein.
Contains micronutrients, macronutrients,
vitamins and minerals.
There is no added sugar.
These are lactose-free.
They're gluten-free.
They also do a vegan range.
They also do bars and powders as well.
For busy people on the go, it's really important.
Instead of reaching for unhealthy fast food,
you can reach for healthy food fast.
Yes.
I've practiced that so many times.
So a huge thanks to White Food for sponsoring this vlog,
getting me through these edit days, bringing you guys.
I hope you're enjoying these vlogs lately.
We've been having so much fun putting these together.
There will be a link in the description to White Food.
If this suits you and your lifestyle,
then please go and check it out.
But other than that,
I hope you enjoy the rest of today's vlog.
I used to have these ones back then.
So we're currently buying all of the shop it needs.
Four pairs of sunglasses and one jumper later.
Tote bag, repair kit, clean lungs kit,
care kit, baseball cap.
Kit it out.
We're going to be branded Jolly B and Sonny.
Sponsored by.
These malls are so much cleaner than in the UK.
It's nicer.
People walking around.
Yeah.
No chewing gum on the floor.
More people cleaning up.
There's people sweeping and polishing everywhere you go.
Yeah.
So we're on a trainer hunt.
We've been in every trainer shop so far.
What's happened?
Well, I'm buying these.
They fit me and Coda's having those big ones.
You see him clomping around in them.
So we have these as well.
You all right with that?
You sure?
Bigger Sakoshi mall.
So we'll leave this mall now and go to another one.
That was a success.
We've got four pairs of sunglasses,
one jumper and two pairs of trainers.
Very good.
Only one pair of trains for me though.
Yes.
And one pair for Coda.
Which we'll show you.
Did we show you just then?
You might have seen it.
You did do a shot of them, yes.
Yeah, they're like matching.
They're like white with a bit of green.
We won't tell Coda that grandpa's got the same one.
And then later they'll both be in matching trainers.
So, you getting them out?
I bought them, just a quick reveal.
Reveal.
Oh.
Grandpa's.
Green style, very nice.
But it's nice, it's got like a bit of an off light there.
Yes.
Very nice.
Coda's ones.
I love the tiny part.
The mini me ones.
Very nice.
Also in green and white.
So next on our mall hopping day,
we are heading over the road.
Down this way to Mitsukoshi Mall,
which is I think one of my favourite malls in the Philippines.
Which mainly is because how much I love Japan
and it really looks like Japan and reminds me of Japan.
I also love SM Mall.
I also love Uptown Mall actually.
All the malls we've been to I really love,
but I think I just particularly like Mitsukoshi Mall.
Yeah, we can walk here and cross at the end.
Maybe the food, maybe the matcha that they have there,
the shops and stuff.
And of course, Arabica, which is very good coffee.
So yeah, looking forward to getting there in a second.
But yeah, they're enjoying their mall day.
And because they're flying home tomorrow, which is crazy,
they're like getting their last minute bits.
And we're also going to go to the grocery store,
which I think is called Mitsukoshi Fresh.
If they want to get any like,
I suppose the word would be pasalubong,
things that they want to share with their friends.
Maybe they get some dried mango
or some like little token gifts.
Even things like cooking powders and stuff.
Certain flavours that you don't really get in the UK.
What is it on your phone?
34.
So I think summer's definitely around the corner.
Good.
As we leave.
It's been warm enough.
Yeah.
So yeah, this is the Japanese mall behind you.
It's very new.
I think it's been here for less than a year maybe.
Okay.
Maybe like six months.
We've been a few times.
Mentioned key coffee has been all right.
Yeah, pretty good.
Pretty good coffee.
And Arabica's in here.
Arabica's better.
We're going to Arabica in here.
Now.
Do you like want to try anything matcha-y or not really?
Okay.
Fair enough.
I've got to ask.
Do you want me to think about that
and then give you a considerable response?
Do you want to answer a bit quicker?
No.
So Japan is a location they've spoken about
potentially visiting in the future.
So this will be a little taste of that.
I mean, obviously Japan is very different
when you're actually there.
Loads of reasons,
but there's definitely a glimpse of,
well, a big glimpse of Japan here
with like the decor and stuff inside and the food options.
But it feels good to be back in Manila.
I do love being in the islands.
I can't decide which I prefer.
There's something nice about not having sand all over you.
When you're in the islands,
it's really nice to be covered in sand.
But having a bed at night that's not got sand in
is always a bonus.
So comment below if you're more of a city person
or more of a beach person.
I can't decide.
I think maybe I'm more city.
Just discussing with no one.
I'm talking to a camera.
Discussing with myself.
Are you more city or more beach if you had to pick
as a person?
Not on this trip, but like in life.
Are you a city person or a beach person?
City for me.
Yeah.
I like to go to the beach for a holiday.
You can't pick both.
I'm going beach.
Okay.
Oh, nice.
I'll meet you at the beach.
Yeah, I'll come into the city to see you.
Perfect.
But this is like a different sort of city.
It's kind of like,
obviously the capital, I call it.
Sorry, we were just saying,
this is so much nicer than London.
Yeah.
In every way.
There's no like hoodie boys knocking around.
There's no horrible people.
There's no rubbish, no chewing gum.
It's everything is over modern and clean and lovely.
It's always like a film set or something, isn't it?
Yeah.
Coffee shops, like there's cute little booths
that makes me want to go in and sit at the booth
and the color schemes are amazing.
And I guess I always loved London.
But when I now think about London,
I think there's probably one or two places that you go to,
but this is everything, you know?
It's dirty and smelly, London.
This is neither.
It's just such a shame.
I've just seen a cigarette on the pavement here,
but there's no litter.
You look down there, there's a leaf.
Yeah.
In London, there'd be crisp packets, drink bottles,
tin cans.
Chewing gum.
Chewing gum all along there.
It's immaculate.
It's just a shame it's so far away.
It is, yeah.
I know, tell me about it.
This is our life issue.
Yeah.
This is why you come for so long, isn't it?
Yeah, exactly.
To make it worth your while.
And even our apartment building,
it's just like, you know, from here,
it's freshly painted.
It's clean.
It's shiny.
Everything is just maintained and looked after.
It's lovely.
Really lovely.
Well, let's leave the Philippines quickly
and head to Japan.
Okay.
Yes.
See you there.
Just to change here.
Put your passports, yeah.
as we go through security and everything.
And we're here.
I really wonder if, when we're retired,
we would come here for like, you know, some time.
Well, you want to live somewhere for a few months,
don't you?
Yeah, just experience it.
An apartment in a building here,
with all this around you.
And then weekend trips to the beach.
Yeah.
Well, no, weekday trips.
Weekday trips to the beach.
We don't want to go in the busy time,
we'll leave it.
The weekends can be for the people who live here.
We'll go when it's quiet,
because we'll be retired.
Yeah.
Thank you very much.
We've waited a long time.
That's very dark coffee, isn't it?
I haven't seen the take a picture with you.
Yeah, it's fine.
Just took the beat, that's what it is.
Have a sit from the side,
otherwise it's all gonna spill out.
I'm swallowing now,
because I'm like salivating.
Good luck.
Nice.
Is it chocolate flavoured?
Espresso.
Oh, wow.
Thank you.
Matcha and espresso.
Nice.
Thank you so much.
That's great.
You come round?
Yeah.
We have espresso and matcha flavoured ice cream.
Okay.
Thank you.
You're sort of still there with your...
It's both for both,
for both flavours.
I'm so excited.
I've got to leave for your coffee,
I don't think you do.
Oh my God.
Did I?
What flavour is that?
Coffee flavour?
Coffee.
And this is matcha?
My favourite.
Did you say you don't like coffee flavour?
Not really.
Oh, wow.
I can taste matcha,
but it just tastes like normal ice cream.
Mm, that's nice.
I'm too excited.
Yeah.
Something special.
It really is.
It's...
Don't be pleased.
It's thick,
almost.
Yeah, yeah.
The coffee is...
Perfectly textured.
Yeah.
See by the amount of surface tension it's got,
you can get that much in there
without it running over the sides.
The milk is bang on.
The milk is good.
The bean is good.
It's not bitter.
Just works.
Sometimes I don't know why I don't like a coffee.
I always think it's not quite right.
It's not quite right.
I know George knows,
but I don't know that this is perfect.
Wow.
Good.
10 out of 10 then.
10 out of 10.
George done well.
Just come into,
what's it called?
Daiso.
Which is one of my favourite shops.
I don't know why.
It's just full of random cheap things
that you don't really need.
But then you go round and you go,
oh, I could use that for that.
And like little random things that you never really...
I feel like you wouldn't come into the shop
with an idea of what you wanted.
You'd just leave with a lot of stuff
you probably didn't need,
but it's always good.
So I've got Coda,
a Monsters Inc. fork,
a Toy Story Tupperware box,
and some hair bands.
Random.
They've bought some random stuff as well.
They don't really know what they're going to do with,
but I really do love it in here.
Like just random things.
What's this here?
This is
in Japanese,
so I can't read it.
I don't even know what that is.
I was going to tell you what that is,
but I've got no idea.
This is what I mean.
It's just random stuff,
but I love it.
So we've come down to the grocery shop now
and we're going to have a look around.
We need to pick up some fruit
and anything they want to take home with them.
I'm also going to get some chicken and beef skewers,
one of the cubes we really like here.
And take them back to George
and then I need to go and get him an Arabica coffee.
Oh yeah, George and Coda are back at the room by the way.
Coda's napping.
Yeah, there you go.
There's your bananas.
Look at the bananas on that.
It's like a big pan.
Green and yellow in one.
It's like King Kong's fingers.
It's like Wolverine, isn't it?
So I've picked out some fruit.
We've got some oranges,
some papaya,
some grapes,
some apples.
I also ordered some of the Wagyu cubes
and the chicken yakitori.
And I've got some more whites.
Have you tried this before?
Sesame seeds.
It's really nice on salads and stuff.
I like the flavour of sesame seeds.
You should get some.
Just take a bite.
Sold.
Sold, that was easy.
We want to rent somewhere for four months
and live somewhere different.
When I retire,
Claire's already retired
and we've lost the dogs
and it'll be like apartment living
in a really nice, clean city centre
with lovely people
and great supermarkets.
And I think we could do this.
That's exciting.
We just need to find an apartment.
If only we knew somebody had one.
I thought it would be Germany or America.
Really?
I thought it was Spain.
But this is a much nicer supermarket.
Much cleaner.
Really good weather.
And the people are just outstandingly friendly.
Way better.
Well, there you go, sold.
Sold, I was just going to say.
But no, it's a nice grocery shop.
It's a lot of Filipino food,
but also the Japanese stuff in here
is quite cool as well.
You could try it.
If you're here the whole time,
you'd be like,
just go in and buy something
you don't even know what it is.
Yeah, you fancy a nice drink,
you'd have a little look
and find some random little fizzy thing.
I always buy that.
I'm going to buy that today.
Yeah.
I don't know what it is,
but I'll give it a try.
Yeah, exactly.
That looks nice.
It's probably lemon.
Get it, treat yourself.
It's got lemon on the label.
Yeah, we've been trying to eat less as well
if we lived here.
That's hard.
I've been saying from experience,
it's very hard to eat letter.
It's going in.
Is that to have now or to have at home?
Yeah.
This is the sort of stuff
you'd actually get in a Japanese vending machine
in Tokyo,
you'd sort of get something like that.
I don't know what it is,
but it looks mighty strong.
Work and peace.
Craft boss.
Black coffee, cold.
I always just go for Coke,
but I probably should try something.
Yeah.
It's like a mouthwash.
Yeah, what's this?
It's like tea, isn't it?
Yeah, most of these are tea.
I don't like cold tea,
so I don't really like flavouring.
There's a little dessert on the end,
like all the lace over there.
Ooh.
What is it?
Looks like Dougal.
It looks like a snow globe.
Oh wow, look.
It's amazing,
like strawberry cake.
Oh wow.
So cool.
I love this,
I love this more.
A local chocolate that's made here,
which is very nice.
They've got milk chocolate,
don't worry,
it's not all dark.
I'm seeing like low numbers,
which is better.
Yeah.
42% milk.
I like single figures myself.
Single figures.
Where it's mostly sugar and milk.
Yeah.
And just a wafer thin of chocolate.
Perfect.
Milky bar.
I'm having it to take away,
I have to carry it.
Do you have like a bag with a holder?
Oh, thank you.
So that was a successful trip to the mall.
God, my arm is,
I've got a very heavy bag on my arm with the camera.
This is a bit of an exercise
that I didn't want to have to do,
but there you go.
What was your favourite mall of the two?
Actually, let's add to it,
Ann Esamura on the first day.
Oh my God.
So, the first one today,
it's probably better for shops I would buy from.
Yeah.
But this is just beautiful
and lovely to look around at all things that,
you know, like there's a blue top there
that I would really love to buy.
Oh yes, we're back to there.
If I was still working.
So, probably for function,
the first mall,
but just for how gorgeous it is.
Yeah.
The Japanese.
Nice.
Don't you?
Probably agree with that.
If you were going to buy something,
the other one had shops in that you would know,
like the brands that we know from the UK.
If you're just going to wander around
and possibly buy something you didn't know you needed,
this would be the place to come.
Yeah, it's been great.
But they're both like immaculate
and modern and clean and well-maintained.
They're really enjoyed to be here.
It means a lot to me, those sort of things.
They're like high values I hold.
These are both lovely.
Yeah.
We've done very well.
We've got lots of,
we're still being put into one bag,
but we've got lots of,
I've got lots of bags.
You've got lots of bags.
Yeah.
Sunglasses, trainers, coffee.
One not to be swung around.
Swing it around.
I've called you George.
My George.
Got your coffee.
It's now been mixed with no texture of the milk now.
Poor George.
Right, let's go.
